  1. The proof is the book has not been issued a cease & desist warning by DC to sellers as the news has claimed. The proof is that the book is readily available by tens of vendors with no interruption by DC as article has claimed on eBay I'm just like you now. Reading the news and taking at face value without getting into details. How arrogant of me!
  2. And once again for all of those who BELIEVE otherwise: THERE IS NO CEASE AND DESIST ON THIS BOOK The book is readily available to purchase on eBay. Until this has changed this is the only piece of news you need to relate to
  3. I'll reply to you with a simple reply since most of the effort you put into discussing my conclusions are nothing but a lot of wind with no grounds. We all believe in what we believe I believe that an over inflated book spiked due to NOTHING but a headline is shilled. Emphasis on the word OVER INFLATED. Not HEADLINE. There's no conspiracy in that statement. This is business as usual in our market. You dont. It just so happens to be that this time it's directly involving a politician. Not a popular TV show/movie. Not a popular writer/ artist. Heck, there wasn't eve a pe*is involved with this one And that my friend is the beginning of the end. Think about what you just allowed to happen here, think about what you accepted as a reality in our hobby. That will set the ground for another big tear in our already suffering industry. And it's because people like you allow it to exist
  4. There is no cease and desist. The comic is readily available for thousands of dollars online. No one is stopping this from retailing Theres your proof
  5. Boy I guess DC is really working hard on stopping this from happening https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=ocasio+wonder+woman&_sacat=63&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=13&_osacat=63&_odkw=ocasio+&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&LH_TitleDesc=0 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC1.A0.H0.Xocasio+wonder+woman.TRS1&_nkw=ocasio+wonder+woman&_sacat=63&LH_TitleDesc=0&_fsrp=1&_sop=15&_osacat=63&_odkw=Akira+38&LH_BIN=1&LH_TitleDesc=0 NO CEASE & DESIST NONE GIVEN
  6. Do you know what constitutes a headline at this level? A phone call from Jim Lee calling DDP HQ asking him to pull his inventory Thats it Theres your cease and desist Theres no lawyers involved, no lawsuit, no propaganda, no Russian collision, no Coup d'etat
  7. No,. My suggestion that it was a headline is not rather it was factual or not. But rather did that headline constitute such backlash
  8. All it was, was a headline I can assure you this hasn't reached Watergate level yet
  9. Wait till Marvel sees what DDP did with their properties... Oh man - people -START BUYING THESE WILL SELL FOR THOUSANDS!!
  10. All i said is that a lobbyist from Alphabet city NY shelled a check for 100 grand to promote a comic book for his boss Can you buy that?
  11. Were talking about "thousands of dollars" known JL... Did it ever happen with any past political figure in comic book form? To put it in perspective.. Even a signed Obama ASM 583 9.8 is not bringing Ocasio type of moneys. and thats the effin president of the united states man!! The only one thing you have to ask yourself here is- why is this book selling for 1000s of dollars. thousands Does this seem natural to you? Is this a common practice in our market on a property with no ties to any pop culture? No There is SERIOUS money invested behind political campaigns. Were not talking comic book money, heck, were not even talking about Hollywood money. Billions go each year in total lobbying spending... Heck, they can crush a tiny market like ours with just pouring a small fraction of that into promoting political figures. But no one has ever done it before. $100,000 lets say, spent on politician campaigns is breakfast money. You and I will never hear about it. Its not like its being advertised somewhere. If you think her comic book came out and was purchased organically for $20-80 with zero advertising I'd like to have some of what youre smoking... if you think that DC was absolutely furious about having Ocasio dress up as Wonder Woman where they sent their attorneys to chase down every copy and destroy it because it hurts their image I'd be interested to read about it. Show me a lawsuit, show me signed attorney letter... Not that it would make any difference... But its all a gimmick whether it happened or not. The end result is where you ALWAYS look. Its the headline. No one HATES DDP for what theyve done, no one is OUTRAGED about their "recalled" book. They havent done anything to damage their reputation. No. They just cooked a clever marketing campaign
  12. Common sense is where you read about it... Since when are comic books about politicians are a "thing"? Let alone, relatively unknown politicians
  13. Here's what I'd like to add to this topic. What made Ocasio's political campaign chose comic book as a promotional avenue? Pop culture They chose wisely. In just a short while Ocasio has been featured in cartoons, comics, posters, magazine covers (from Hollywood Reporter to Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone etc), T-Shirts, appearances in SXSW - The works! She even quoted Rorschach in one of her tweets for heavens sakes! They are shaping her to be a superstar. Think Obama had a pop impact on youth? Think again... This one is going places! Anyone who thinks that this comic book is a fluke doesn't carefully read between the lines. The comic book is not where it ends... it's where it begins.
  14. Did you survey the buyers in order to conclude that? No. This book was an $80.00 book right out of the gate on feb 25th. In fact, it has DROPPED in price since then. The only thing that made this a monster is the shilled variant and the fools that followed buying it
  15. Thanks for the pics, the laughs and most importantly the cheeks (well.. at least most of them) this Monday morning Gee Em & Eye 🙏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
  16. The cop-out answer would be I don't know. However, I'm gonna guarantee you it will be a sought out book because there was a tremendous effort to make this a hit. When this book came out I received notices from many comic book stores, one who I know for a fact were paid by devils due to promote it. It was all over fb and many blogs. People were hyping it massively. Think about what we're talking about here for a second it's a comic book about a politician, with no emphasis on story, art and with no key significance. Yet it was promoted up the wazoo. There were massive money's poured on to this obscure title. For no other reason than to push a political narrative. There are many other political figure books, most of which are published by Bluewater Comics, which are as obscure as this comic should've been had it not been promoted and then marketed cleverly by the publisher
  17. The dc lawsuit was a gimmic. That's all this title needed to get off track
  18. I think you're missing the point.. the whole purpose of this scam was to promote this book, which basically promotes the politician. This book was heavily advertised by several vendors before this "recall" occurred and no one cared for it. Now her book is selling like hotcakes all across the board. Not just the "recalled" variant. This same exact retail phenomenon occurred with Rick & Morty books. One book was shilled to death and as a result all associated books from that title skyrocketed. Since this is such a winning formula, this will happen again in the future with another title, and another, and another... welcome to a new era in comic book retailing
  19. It's probably no coincidence that this new player is doing better with new collectors as opposed to old pre 2000s - guide/newsletters early 00s - message boards 2010s - blogs/pages 2020s - phone apps
  20. The wifey and I are on our way to the Jones Beach Air Show and after that - hopefully picking a collection!! Enjoy your weekend and be safe! Mr & Mrs Awe
