  1. Thanks man. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be sitting right now on 15-20 UF4 which I got back in the day for 4$ a pop 🙏🏻
  2. ALWAYS sell on the hype the one time you sell on the hype and it actually sticks will equal 10 times you sell on the hype and the book will flop/be of no interest 48 hours from then
  3. This is really too obvious; If you're a seller and u had someone snipe at your auction that no one noticed and therefore sold a $100 book for $1 - you'd HATE snipers. And that's what this is pretty much all about Moral of the story - don't gamble with high end books if you can't eat a loss
  4. Anyone has a scan from that art catalog from the 70s offering Frazetta drawings for $75?
  5. Bartkira - Got this for $20 just out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. The limited edition hardcover is moving at $350 and the tpb version is a $30-60 book

  10. Isn't it simpler to just call them painted covers? Even though most ore computer generated today they still are considered painted because of their painted texture. Painted covers were huge in the golden-silver era with Gold Key/Dell books and of course occupied most pulps even before then. They weren't as prominent in the 70s and much less in the 80s/ early 90s (I can only think of Steve Rude and Dave Doorman as painted cover artists in that era) Theres nothing new about them. It's definitely a plus
  11. Kevin nowlan had some great pieces early in his career. But later he just started being either too sloppy or artsy. Either way it didn't work :-/

  14. She was kinda like the joker and kingpin put in one
  15. I remember the days when publishers used to promote comic books by shoving them in sealed plastic bags, printing chromium covers, and making thousand variants with high profile artists. Now they simply shill bid on eBay
  16. Haha it was all ready to be trashed along some other candy containers (Hershey's Reese's pieces etc). I was ready to take them all but wifey almost had a heart attack when she saw me drag this to the car. On second thought she liked it after she saw she could fit her shoes on the racks. Now she loves it!
