Again the big difference is in MOS 17, there's really no arguing that those were not Doomsday fists. However, in Web 18, those hands are just too ordinary looking and there's no other supporting evidence that they belong to Eddie Brock / Venom. I know what you mean that it would make sense that they should belong to Venom, but what's stopping a writer from making a new villain tomorrow that knows Spider-Man's secret identity and can evade his spider sense? If that writer decides to reference back to Web 18 stating that this character has always been stalking or trying to kill him, that will throw a wrench to all the folks that bought the book thinking it was Venom. I'm not saying its not Eddie's Brocks hands nor can anyone officially say it belongs to him. It's just too vague to be considered a key. Not even Marvel? Well....technically, they forgot his appearance in #298, but hey... And his Marital Status says single. Am I mistaken in remembering he had a wife? Ex. Does that mean she gets half of the symbiot? Half of the arm out of the window.

No worries because now they have the washable kind.

Which begs the question, does the quality of the show significantly impact post hype speculation? I don't really know. I know that sucktastic shows will likely negatively impact post-hype speculation. Because the show will get canned quickly OR even if it doesn't, it doesn't have the kind of viewership that extends into the comic world (especially for something like the Strain, which if it created any real hype, would have been directed to the books mores than at the comics) that can drive any significant sales. Common sense would dictate that good shows have a greater chance of success than bad shows (except on FOX or if they're poorly scheduled for their target demo), and therefore a greater chance of longevity, keeping interest higher for longer. But whether this is accurate when it comes to something as often nonsensical as speculator hype? That's a good question. In fairness a show that sucks to one doesn't to another. I myself think the Strain is a fun summer show to kick back with the family and watch because it simply is fun to watch and more importantly doesn't take itself as seriously as say idk Marvel Agents of Shield does. Chances are there is a market for these books if fans like the characters and if the show stays on a network great and if not that is cool too.

+1 I can understand people not liking the show/character. But to hate it with such passion.. There's just gotta be an elevated motive for that dont you think? These interwebs are fairly negative anyways right?

Anyone else think Marvel / Netflix will do one seasons of some of these next shows? I could see them keeping Daredevil and maybe Defenders ongoing but introduce each character via their one off season. Just a thought I had.

Isn't that the whole point of speculation in general? Nothing wrong with making a profit then again the new generation is being taught capitalism is broken or never worked. Where is all the negativity coming from on the boards recently? Oh I forget its December and there is a holiday or holidays coming up which might explain the ho hums. IMHO if someone chooses to invest in key comic books its not wrong or right but up to the person investing. If this concept is so foreign then why do people invest in futures of commodities all the time in hopes it goes up or down. Or someone choosing to invest in a countries currency - short or long. Its always a gamble in anything. Capitalism needs to be taught.
