  1. MCS approves this message Crossing fingers for all those holders of 9.8's that it'll be a decent show, AOS sure didn't see much price bumps and its been on several seasons. Bitter? Nope I'm a realist. Factor in its netflix sure it'll have fans but I'm still not convinced these paid services trump basic cable tv shows right now in ratings. Maybe I'm too old and can't think outside the box enough. I liked Daredevil and binge watched them but it kinda kills the hype when the whole season is there on debut day IMO. These "paid services" 100% trump basic tv. What show still has raving reviews and is superior in quality ? Yup Daredevil...the show lots of people binged watched on its debut and are continuing to. A.O.S. hasn't seen much of a price bump in the comics because the show is mediocre and low on the quality barometer. What drives prices on comics is buzz and quality. The difference is the "buzz" isn't constant when the whole season is there to me. There really wasn't much discussion with my friends after each of us watched Daredevil. However shows that are weekly like Gotham, Strain, AOS has much more discussion in my groups of friends even casual conversations with people. I watched Daredevil over one weekend,,,,it was cool but after that it was a bit of a letdown to me, over too fast and a long wait till the next season. Ask yourself how many paid services are people really willing to spend over basic cable stations? You got Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime & there go paid services. Add all those up and it is more expensive than a basic cable package. When 50 percent of Americans make less than 30 k a year and that is before taxes, add their cost of living plus family expenses cutting these paid extras are occurring whether that is promoted or not.

  4. Congrats! Would of purchased a copy if a different time... Yeah I hated selling them but sometimes you gotta make those hard decisions.
  5. Its not CHU its the attention span on hot books right now. One book gets hot then another first one is forgotten or discarded. I will name this the discarded attention syndrome.
  6. Speculators bring in money which creates interest. Readers create interest as well. Let`s enjoy this boom. It`s one of the few hobbies that actually is experiencing growth. Anybody want to talk stamps or Hummels? Comics is one of the few hobbies that still has a good collecting core. There is something new happening in the world of comics everyday. Yes another round of All-New, All-Different Invincible, Inhuman, Uncanny MARVEL NOW NOW right NOW #1. 4-6 months later repeat this tile switching around the order of wording.....rinse repeat.
  7. She planned her leaving before. Hugged the other kid. Way too "coincidental" she takes off and was way too relaxed when everyone in town started being killed and screaming.
  8. Bingo good article. Way too coincidental she decides to leave the same day the town gets attacked.
  9. Reason I said Carol > Rick because when stuff needs to get done it gets done. No big stares or random dialogue just help her or get out of her way. Hands down she should be the leader of this group IMO
  10. Running or being chased by the horde I'd guess. Maybe they are still trying to draw them away. Horn did stop so maybe it'll slow em down temporary.
  11. guess which shop variant is going to be the hot one I always buy the one I like best.... I'm not buying your "Not only does it confuse people, it saturates the market" logic... Example: Black Mask keeps churning out WCNGH show variants Nobody's confused. The market's not saturated. You guys are lapping it up. If the same books were printed for a shop.... You'd be confused & market saturated. Anyway... The market will correct itself. Cream rises to the top. In each case the best looking / most limited books are the ones that will win. Your example says it all. BLACK MASK is churning out variants. Most of us would much rather support the creative team than someone looking for nothing more than a pay day. The market is the market. The only possible reason you state the market will correct itself is probably due to a loss of interest on your variants in hopes to bring some sales back. You know your variants, the ones that will be similarly compared to the 90's drek we so ill speak of. And no Larry, I have not been burned on retailer variants. Not in the least. I just feel the over priced cash grab on retailer variants out of the gate is seriously hurting the stability of the industry. It's one thing if the market sets itself, but for the retailer to do it knowing it will hurt the collectors in the long haul or have them walk away is another. Most of us would much rather support the creative team than someone looking for nothing more than a pay day . Where do you think the books come from? We buy them from the creative team. In volume. So by your logic, unless you purchase a comic directly from the creator you're not supporting them?! Hilarious. You missed the point. Not surprising. You are a middle man with his hand out as he sets the market value. You are not an employee of a publisher or a creator of the books whom I'd rather support. The shops IMO that keep it classy that offer a retailer variant for fun, to create buzz for the title, make a small profit is one thing. Not the likes of you who create small print runs (unverified how many you actually print) just to gouge collectors. Just my opinion but I feel doing this is horrible for the industry and screams greed. You can peddle your know it all nonsense and books all you want. All I see it as is pathetic. The real winners sell themselves. Wasn't some of the above stated points led or helped lead to the 90's bottoming out of the market? Variants upon variants printed up before and after the first printings as "collector's items" Only difference between then and now is overprinting became the norm, collectors stopped buying as well as the speculators. The same gimmicks were used then to sell the variants albeit less hologram & metallic ink covers still I am concerned about the future here. Am I the only one who has noticed last 9 months plus nothing stays or gets remotely hot at all even with a media announcement?
  12. I'm in complete agreement with the art being especially good this issue - a couple of the Michonne panels looked spectacular. One thing that I've noticed, though, is that everytime someone cries it seems like they are gushing tears (when Michonne is crying in the kitchen, for example). It's not a new thing, but it seems like there's two levels of crying in TWD - no crying, and gushing. Not that I'm saying that there aren't justifiable reasons to cry, but gushing tears down the face at some of the moments seems like it would dehydrate a person! There is no crying in a zombie apocalypse.
  13. This rumor pops up every few years. I'll believe it when it happens.
  14. You will find these books in dollar bins in 5-10 years. +1
  15. Bet he'll be season finale or second to last season finale episode. With all the time jumping around they are doing it will work fine.
  16. Oh man I'm out of the loop. I thought Radioactive Spider-Gwen was a joke. Sure enough it's a real thing. Nice find for $9! I need to go pick up a copy to check out the new characters. Neither did I know about it. Radioactive whatever sounds like a Simpsons Bongo comic from the 90's to me.
