  1. The Dodsons are also doing the 3D Catwoman cover. With the way the Dodsons draw the ladies, you might need safety goggles
  2. Me and the monopoly man have a few sacks with "$" ready to send your way.
  3. Block this Clown: harr.burri He wins the book, and PAYS FOR IT. Then a little later he messages me asking me to refund it, because he didn't know it cost so much. I ask him how that was possible, since you have to approve the payment before sending it. He the says he lets his kid run wild on eBay, and now looking at the invoice, he felt he spent to much. Don't let him waste your time. Only has 2 feedback as well.
  4. It's a neat comic. But, There are a lot of great, well written comics out there. Many of them better than this one. None of them are hitting $20-30 on the day of release. So obviously, it's not the story that's driving prices.
  5. Not only is 316 Venom's first cover, but it's probably one of Todd's most iconic covers as well.
  6. Avatar makes you hate collecting. The only book of theirs I read is Caliban.
  7. This is something I've talked about with a few others. I buy everything with cash or ( debit ). Buying "hot" books on credit is risky business. It can get you into big trouble , fast. Jesus, how many hundreds of copies of the latest image #1 are people buying that they have to choke down interest?
  8. Just checked to see if Jetpack reduced prices to align through Forbidden planet...nope. Jetpack: has the 2 phantoms @ $74.99 and $14.99 Forbidden (converted to $$): has the 2 phantoms @ $33.37 & $8.33 $74.99 seems like a ripoff; doubt anybody will buy at that price. Looks like max of 420 B&W and 1000 color variants. Hopefully the shops ordered them up, but from the earlier statement stating 2nd print looking at 2200 copies, guessing max won't be achieved. Wonder how many of each will be out there? The Enormous Creature Feature edition has the lowest print run of ANY Enormous printing to date. Microscopic. It was available to Phantom variant shops as an incentive to order the Enormous Special edition. 4 per every 50 color Kaiju edition they ordered. There 32 retailers in the program. Not everyone participated. ( I wish now that I ordered more ) Tim let me know EVERYTHING is currently out of print. What's the release date on this one?
  9. Checked with a couple LCS, and they didn't get their Enormous #2 in this week either. Everyone is very confused, and pretty frustrated.
  10. Which pre-seller? I know a couple that consistently fail to deliver on their pre-orders.
  11. When you say they sell for $40, I hope you're not talking Raw...because if so, WTF. sorry to give you a wtf moment. 9.8 #5 sells for $40 Thank God. Otherwise I'd have been quite remorseful in dumping them in a Garage sale.
  12. When you say they sell for $40, I hope you're not talking Raw...because if so, WTF.
  13. Your projected path to Rat Queens becoming the most celebrated comic in the last 30 to 40 years is beyond absurd. Even more absurd than that one Rube who thought Major League Baseball was going to start talking about 3D DC covers on the air for no good reason, and he'd be flipping hundos on all the suckers lining up to buy his copies. Let's not act like Rat Queens is the only book that has ever appealed to females before. And I think your average female would probably have a stronger interest in SiP. In my personal experience in the hobby, the most successful book I've seen with females is the Sandman. It's one of the most acclaimed series of all time, Neil has gone on to be (probably) the most successful breakout writer to come from the medium, and it's still a fairly underground thing. Definitely not on TMNT level. Even if the movie blows up, it will have come from quality work, years of development hell, and various other things. Not some jackhole paying the fat chick from the facts of life 20k to tweet about it, hoping that Katy Perry will somehow notice and care.
  14. Bingo. Only diff is that the emphasis is on female readers as opposed to collectors.. Thats the reason why the TPB hold a #1 spot. It is an EASY book to market to everyone based on commercial value and appeal... Wanna buy your GF a cool gift? Get her a Rat Queens Tee Wanna buy your niece a cool read.. There you go.. Rat Queens TPB Once they get it.. Theyre hooked.. Cant do that with any other book that I know of today. I already said it before.. This doesnt even needs a TV show, its just INEVITABLE.. It only needs a female celebrity tweet (selena gomez, Miley, Rihanna..).. A talk show recomendation (The View, Ellen Show, etc..) and BOOM This one screams cross over all around it. 20,000 print run of #1 is NOTHING if this gets to TMNT levels, which in my belief, it would. Before you posted this, did you take some ecstasy and start listening to some zesty, zesty Trance?
  15. Why is everyone panicking? It's been pointed out the book is late and most stores are going to get their stock in a week or two.
  16. 08/04 - sent email asking for tracking number after it had shipped. 08/07 - still no response.
  17. 2 of my regular shops I hit up didn't get theirs I checked 3 stores here, and none of them got it either
  18. It'll be interesting to see if people neg the stuffing out of him if he can't deliver the books this week.
  19. Talked to a couple local shops, and nobody received their copies of Enormous #2. So either the publisher is late, despite insisting they wouldn't be, or Diamond left them sitting behind the water heater.
  20. Doesn't seem to have taken off yet, but A-Next #7? Print run was only 33,000 copies, and it is the first appearance of Hope Pym, who they've announced will be in the Ant Man movie (as Hope Van Dyne).
  21. Platt did a Variant for Dark Knight not too long ago. I don't recall which issue. #1 maybe? He also did a really cool Wolverine Variant. He does a lot of work in movies now. He worked on Iron Man, Godzilla, Tons and tons of others. Kevin Feige personally asked him for a Moon Knight Sketch, which is the one he has been selling prints of at shows recently. I got to chat with him for a while when he did a show here in April. Really nice guy, and his Art has only gotten better with time. He does some really amazing stuff now.
