It seems like the books getting hot these days are for increasingly dubious reasons.

Felicity Smoak's first appearance is still a dollar book too, despite being the most adored character on the show. Which I guess goes to show you that TV Hype is all built on Sand. Books that may never see a TV Screen sell for more than books featuring popular characters, on proven, successful shows.

Getting that way, hell there is even some apprehension about The Strain still and that is already been promised 13 episodes . Like people won't fully believe it till they are watching it themselves. I've already been seeing teasers and advertisements for Strain. So that one is safe, and will definitely be airing. However, who knows if it will be popular and get a second season.

I think it's a combination. too many TV / Movie option announcements. And then the fact that despite all these announcements, we've not seen many of them actually show up on the TV Screen or Movie Screen. Especially outside the DC/Marvel lines. The Strain is actually airing this summer. Aside from that, how much tangible proof have these other announcements produced? Getting optioned can be pretty meaningless. The majority of things that get optioned never make it to being a finished product.

Exactly. Larry, I know Marvel has doubled orders in the past for retailers for free. I would be interested in hearing about which books. If I recall, they usually are books that are teasers for an upcoming summer event or preview a few titles that are upcoming. Unfortunately, I just don't recall which books I heard they had double shipped, but I believe the last one had a hefty price tag, $6.99 or $7.99, I believe. It's an marketing tactic used by publishers. I have NO idea how many books it's been done with. Happens often though.. Marvel wanted ASM to be the #1 book for the month. Doubling retailers orders insures this... Was there any way Amazing Spider-Man #1 WASN'T going to be the top book for the month?

I expect CGC might be getting a bunch of phone calls in the next little bit. But I just realized that means your 15 day Col Soc coupon is now being bumped in front of my 15 day Col Soc coupon! I wonder if we could file some sort of class action along these lines that would get FIFO to run as it should as opposed to the seemingly random progressions we currently get. I think most would see that as a big step in the right direction. It might encourage them to finally shell out for some Overtime at least.

I have one that has been sitting in Graded/QC for 4 days now. Usually when it hits QC, it seems to ship the next day. I have one order that is "Graded" and one that is scheduled. Is it possible they're holding the one in QC to combine with another shipment(s)?
