Hi there, Does anyone know what impact the paper drives during the War had on the number of comics that survived the era? I'm curious to know if more books were thrown out than recycled for the war or any other anecdotal information related to comic books survival due to paper salvage. There are a variety of articles about paper salvage but almost none reference comic books or have any detailed info about how the paper drives were conducted and how much loss of comics can be attributed to it. The Gerber Guides briefly makes reference to the paper drives during the War as being one of the reasons Golden Age books didn't survive but there isn't much information shared other than that. If you have information, articles or theories - please share! Thanks

It's a really good show and I like it. My main complaint is not the lack of books but the fact they removed the booze a couple years ago so you can't grab a beer and attend the show. There's a lot of comics to peruse but it depends on what you're looking to buy. There's not a ton of golden age books but there are definitely some. Silver age is fairly well represented and there's lots of bronze and modern. I don't look for comic art prints but that material seems pretty available. The show has gotten better every year, except for the booze.

so many potential keys in the series but unfortunately Fox has simply mined the Chris Claremont material over the years and totally ignored the wealth of material in the early books. With the Spidey films they keep milking the early villians every film and for us X-Men fans we keep getting these same damn 80's/90's plot lines in the films and it sucks. Except for a handful of keys that include some heroes and villians that have showed up on the screen, most everyone else has been totally ignored. Give me the vanisher please, or Mimic. We'll probably see Polaris at some point.
