I had a gut feeling that Voldemort books are less likely to be pressed than CGC so for a good while I was cracking, pressing and submitting to CGC and doing pretty good with this approach on the balance. I upgraded two Blue Beetle #1's through this and netted out mostly neutral with some higher grade Timely books. I think Voldemort recently rolled out pressing services so that may change. Again, gut feeling. I have no data to backup whether books are less likely to be pressed in one holder than another. I reasoned that if you are looking for savings with the Voldemort holder or in a rush, you may not press that copy.

Show me your Timely's and I'll show you mine. Have a Cigar...

Well this book is finally in hand from cc and it looks pretty darn good for the grade. The foxing holds it back but I like the cream to off-white pages. I'm heading into the HA auction a bit tapped out since I picked up the All Star 3 2.0 from clink yesterday. -

Two books offered as a pair for one price - please send all proceeds to Brittany's go fund me. (Shipping incld US or International) claimed Note both books I removed from the slab but are still in the sealed CGC mylar. Post the standard take it in thread. Rachel Rising #1 9.6 Signed & Sketch by Terry Moore. The sketches are much more uncommon on the sig series and it's great. The writing and art just doesn't get better in contemporary indie comics. Locke & Key #1 9.6 Dynamic Forces Edition. I think this is the best cover, I just like the simplicity. Simply put one of the best written horror stories you'll find in the genre. -
Marvel Mystery Comics #6 - CLOSED
atomised replied to atomised's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Yea, I became interested in the census on this book a bit back considering the low numbers. So I've made sure that every raw copy I picked up I slabbed and every copy in a Voldemort slab I cracked and slabbed. I even resubmitted the Rockford copy because the prior owner removed it and the damn thing came back .5 lower when re-graded. I have a coverless copy and I stopped there -

I talked to the Heritage guys at their booth at last weekends con in SJ about this auction. Super nice guys, I think it was Jerry Stephan and Aaron White. We got to talking about the Marvel Comics #1 1.0 in that auction. I mentioned how much I liked that book and I threw out that I thought it would go north of 40k and they said yea I think that's about right. I also mentioned how it's a real nice entry level copy which in retrospect it's a bit funny to call anything in this price range entry level.

SILICON Valley Comic-Con Stan Lee Last Signing?
atomised replied to Dreamtoreal1's topic in Comic Events
pretty good show and beat my expectations. Disappointed though that CGC listed this Con as a drop-off location on their site and completed the submission and brought the books only to find out they weren't there - no reason, nothing. Just not there. Talked to the guys at Heritage and were also wondering why they weren't there. Voldemort had a huge table so maybe the CGC guys are still at the airport bound and gagged in the bathroom stall. Overall pretty good sampling of 2.0-4.0 golden age books at decent prices. Terry's Comic had a lot of Ginger books and I bought almost all he had on tap.- 21 replies
