  1. I can't speak to Pedigree in general, but when there're pieces already priced two to three times what similar or better pieces have gone for in the last year, and reserves still aren't met... strange things are afoot at the circle K. I have no doubt some of the prices will just be used as another bargaining tool down the road. "Oh, you're offering $4K for this $3K piece? Well we were offered $9K already at Pedigree..."
  2. There are items I looked at earlier today with no bids, that now have thousands of dollars in bids with reserves still not met. I can't help but feel this is just some big price discovery game with no real intention to sell a lot of the pieces. And since nothing is ever deleted from the coollines site, unless somebody posts their winnings on CAF, it's going to be hard to tell what sold, what didn't, or what was just a fun shill game.
  3. I checked out the Pedigree auctions ending soon, and was somewhat surprised that so many auctions have reserves and that hardly any have been met. Then I realized I've seen a lot of these pieces before. A high percentage of the pieces are coollines stock. Still up on the coollines website. The whole point of an auction generally is to sell pieces at what current market dictates. Why have your first art auction be full of product from sellers known not to accept anywhere near market, with reserves most likely reflecting that? It's just strange.
  4. Was lucky enough to score one of the IDW Bill Sienkiewicz Artist Select New Mutants books with an original pen/ink drawing. I was really hoping to get something with Magik, so beyond stoked to get a full head shot of her. High res scan is up on my CAF. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1345038
  5. I appreciate you posting about the art section that will be at Pedigree. But I don't see what's wrong or unfair about posting the documented criminal activity of the sole proprietor of a comic business, on a comic site, and letting people make their own informed opinion.
  6. Those on the boards longer than I probably can link the threads that it's been discussed in... But there have been many conversations on how Schmell started his collection/business, and also the murky reserve practices used on the Pedigree site. None of them good.
  7. I assume this is a new thing. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=113908 Seems like an odd venue for comic art. Especially since they don't have a designated art section on the site. Thoughts?
  8. The 'how much do you post' thread made me realize I'm super slack about updating my CAF. So I added some New Mutants, X-factor, Hulk and Thanos pages that I've picked up in the last few months. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=109659
  9. So there seems to be a pattern starting and I find it a little strange. It seems the directors are being chosen because of gender and/or ethnicity. Between this movie and Wonder Woman, the directors on the short lists have all been women. So do men no longer understand or know how to direct a woman in a movie? For Black Panther, the short list all consisted of black directors. So how come Man of Steel was not directed by an alien or a Batman movie directed by a billionaire whose parents were murdered? i don't even think you realize how stupid you are sometimes.
  10. Thanks for the compliment and taking note of that. Good to see someone around here appreciate the efforts I make on that. +1 on James. He's the only seller I follow on social media, because he has stuff from that early 90's era, his prices are reasonable, and he's lightning fast with communication. Now if only terry would send you some more stuff...
  11. Couldn't they do something like the CW did with the scrapped Aquaman pilot and put it on iTunes?
  12. It's not just the millennial crowd that likes this. Two of the people who I saw this with were soccer moms. One had a Master's in Teaching. A lot of people liked this movie as it has now won three consecutive weeks. The word of mouth got around that this was a fun and exciting movie like Deadpool. But he does have a point about there being nothing much else out. There's no way it would've won the weekend with 20 mil if there were other big releases. So yeah, excellent timing on WBs part.
  13. Just got back from seeing it. I'm done with DC in the theatre. I can wait til redbox. I was completely bored during this movie. I wouldn't have missed a thing if I never saw it. Who knows if it was the reshoots that did it, but all the parts that were supposed to be funny fell flat and seemed contrived. Barely any audience reaction during a mostly packed showing.
  14. I agree. I thought it was God awful. Good parts, yes but overall my least favorite comic book movie post 2007. The biggest hump to get over: He did not look that purple in the movie. But he looked just as derpy. Granted, I feel like his pupils should have been whited out more. He looked a little too cute for my liking sometimes. I believe Nick posted another concept costume design for Apocalypse much earlier in this thread and it was like the comic book came to life. That's what I would have preferred and I'm not sure why they opted for the more human look. I've stopped trying to guess the reasoning of why they change the things they do in the X movies. But yeah. That concept art was awesome.

  16. Stoked to have picked up this X-factor DPS this week. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1324205
  17. I finally saw it tonight. Hands down, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I had to leave the theatre for a minute because I was laughing so hard. If I'm judging it as a comedy, 10/10 easy. If I'm judging it as what is is supposed to be, 2 or 3 out of 10.
  18. But Queen Inc is no longer Queen Inc. And Gotham was even worse than Arrow last season. it's not a crossover
  19. Kinda funny that as soon as Fox talks about making another FF turd with the same cast, this is announced... Michael B. Jordan Joins Cast Of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther http://deadline.com/2016/05/michael-b-jordan-joins-cast-of-marvels-black-panther-1201755667/
