  1. So there seems to be a pattern starting and I find it a little strange. It seems the directors are being chosen because of gender and/or ethnicity. Between this movie and Wonder Woman, the directors on the short lists have all been women. So do men no longer understand or know how to direct a woman in a movie? For Black Panther, the short list all consisted of black directors. So how come Man of Steel was not directed by an alien or a Batman movie directed by a billionaire whose parents were murdered? i don't even think you realize how stupid you are sometimes.
  2. Thanks for the compliment and taking note of that. Good to see someone around here appreciate the efforts I make on that. +1 on James. He's the only seller I follow on social media, because he has stuff from that early 90's era, his prices are reasonable, and he's lightning fast with communication. Now if only terry would send you some more stuff...
  3. Couldn't they do something like the CW did with the scrapped Aquaman pilot and put it on iTunes?
  4. It's not just the millennial crowd that likes this. Two of the people who I saw this with were soccer moms. One had a Master's in Teaching. A lot of people liked this movie as it has now won three consecutive weeks. The word of mouth got around that this was a fun and exciting movie like Deadpool. But he does have a point about there being nothing much else out. There's no way it would've won the weekend with 20 mil if there were other big releases. So yeah, excellent timing on WBs part.
  5. Just got back from seeing it. I'm done with DC in the theatre. I can wait til redbox. I was completely bored during this movie. I wouldn't have missed a thing if I never saw it. Who knows if it was the reshoots that did it, but all the parts that were supposed to be funny fell flat and seemed contrived. Barely any audience reaction during a mostly packed showing.
  6. I agree. I thought it was God awful. Good parts, yes but overall my least favorite comic book movie post 2007. The biggest hump to get over: He did not look that purple in the movie. But he looked just as derpy. Granted, I feel like his pupils should have been whited out more. He looked a little too cute for my liking sometimes. I believe Nick posted another concept costume design for Apocalypse much earlier in this thread and it was like the comic book came to life. That's what I would have preferred and I'm not sure why they opted for the more human look. I've stopped trying to guess the reasoning of why they change the things they do in the X movies. But yeah. That concept art was awesome.

  8. Stoked to have picked up this X-factor DPS this week. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1324205
  9. I finally saw it tonight. Hands down, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I had to leave the theatre for a minute because I was laughing so hard. If I'm judging it as a comedy, 10/10 easy. If I'm judging it as what is is supposed to be, 2 or 3 out of 10.
  10. But Queen Inc is no longer Queen Inc. And Gotham was even worse than Arrow last season. it's not a crossover
  11. Kinda funny that as soon as Fox talks about making another FF turd with the same cast, this is announced... Michael B. Jordan Joins Cast Of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther http://deadline.com/2016/05/michael-b-jordan-joins-cast-of-marvels-black-panther-1201755667/
  12. The X-Men, for a period of probably 20 years, were the most popular comic books characters on the planet. They outsold everybody, Marvel and DC both. The reason that they aren't anymore has got a lot to do with the films, and the people who own the rights to the films. Basically, Marvel gave away the rights to their top line characters - X-Men, Spidey and FF - and still managed to kick everybody's arses because they produced quality. Nothing to do with popularity, everything to do with delivery. I guess for people who are not true X-Men fans movies can make or break their alliance....but not for real X-Men fans. What kinda is that? X-men have always been my favorite in the comics. If anything, X fans should be more discerning. I'm not gonna like a mediocre movie because I'm just supposed to. That's just retarded.
  13. Civil War swayed from the source material too, but you do not see anyone bashing it for doing so. They're movies. There's always going to be some straying from the comics. But X-men takes it next level. There are so many problems with switching powers and relationships, that at some point it's not really the X-men anymore, just names and likenesses. Again, I've been reasonably entertained by the movies, but they've always had tons of problems. And if Civil War could do in two weeks what the last X-men did in total, clearly a lot of consumers agree.
  14. Can't say I'm surprised by the reviews. Although I've been entertained enough by most of the X movies, they've more and more strayed wildly from the source material. From the first preview you could tell this one would be the same.
  15. I hope it does move to the CW. Even though I've heard mixed reviews, I would've watched the season if it aired on Hulu or whatnot. I never thought CBS was the right fit, and they probably lost a lot of potential next day viewers by only streaming the show on their own service.
  16. funny how a bad transaction can haunt someone here for years. I don't see him on the list. Did he ultimately make amends for whatever landed him there? If so and he payed for a book from a fellow boardie and the seller decides to refund with no explanation and not sell why is that ok with everyone? He somewhat made amends for his PL nomination. Basically, he was nominated, had a whatever attitude about it, and was added. I guess it was finally explained well enough to him that he's gonna have problems continuing buying and selling if he didn't get his head out of his arse. So he emailed the seller to buy the book after all, but the book was already sold. So the seller was satisfied enough to have him removed from the PL. But not enough, I'm sure, to be removed from several personal lists. I have no idea the reason for the current refund, because it was extremely vague. But he mentioned himself something about a continuing headache, so who knows without more info.
  17. Somebody probably PMed them and explained what a mess it is to deal with you. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8820024#Post8820024 You got your money back, so it's probably best to just let it go and not draw unwanted attention to yourself. Hope that helps!
  18. Monday domestic numbers dropped 79% from previous Monday. 1 billion is gonna be tough to hit.
  19. Thanks for reposting it. I actually liked Man of Steel, but other than that... the review is spot on.
