  1. Interesting light source in that first panel…
  2. Fun Kitty & Storm page! I got the Kulan Gath one. And yeah, been so many the last few auctions. I’m sure that’s not helping final results.
  3. Sienkiewicz Dune, Silvestri Lee and JRJr X-men… thought those were light. The few Valiant pieces were strong. Zeck SW about where I thought.
  4. A few good prices, but a lot of light ones tonight.
  5. Marcus has posted a bunch on CAF… https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=3934
  6. That’s why ‘new’ is always in quotation marks.
  7. Yeah, I put in my tracking bids in the first few hours like normal. Generally, it’s full of other tracking bids at that time. This go around, only two out of 26 lots didn’t immediately outbid me - not the norm to see such early aggressive bidding.
  8. Finally voted in the Published/Unpublished Non-Comic Cover, Pin-ups, Illustrations, Gaming Art group. Some of y’all need therapy.
  9. Maybe don’t start a discussion with Holocaust examples then expect everyone to ignore the Holocaust examples. Ffs. And you think Fisch is a troll? Can we delete this thread already?
  10. Yup. Considering the prices Nick was trying to flip stuff for in the last CAFlive, it’s pretty performative.
  11. They weren’t top tier, but I didn’t think the ones that went for 7-12K last month were either. Seems like each coulda eked out another grand or two if it wasn’t a surprise short premium sale.
  12. Those JRJr X-men pages went pretty low compared to the last batch.
  13. I’m not in the know, but weren’t a lot of these bad sig pages from the collection of somebody that worked for Stan that allegedly stole from him? I seem to remember accusations of the collection now being sold purchased with money allegedly stolen from Stan.
  14. The New Mutants 98 page with no New Mutants at 13+k… I get the importance of the issue, but that purchase… was a choice.
  15. Bogdanove is cashing out at a good time. Good for him for making that money.
  16. You’re gonna get a lot of different responses here. What I’ll say… The site is pretty antiquated and is not updated. If you see something you like, you gotta email. Chances are it’s not still available, but you never know. Spencer is hit and miss with emails. I’ve gotten quick responses before (within 24 hours) and other times nothing after a month so I’ll email again. It’s been said the site will get an update / refresh at some point, but I’ve been hearing that for years, so take it with a grain of salt. Spencer is pretty active selling with Clan McDonald on Facebook if you’re looking for more modern stuff. Never heard anything bad about Spencer himself, but I don’t bother with his site anymore.
  17. It didn’t seem like a ton sold before the recap, so clearly I’m not the only person that didn’t find everything amazing. And you can save your pity.
  18. Haven’t watched in a while. Just skimmed it to see all the ‘amazing’ art. Meh. I liked the Ms Marvel page and the Ralph Reese painting was cool. That was about it.
  19. I have some of those as well. The artist met the brief more or less, but the pieces don’t do it for me. It happens. That’s a personal call. I’d only negatively post if the artist didn’t do what was requested, and wasn’t willing to work out an alternative solution.
  20. Simonson X-factor 38 page 1 sold 2.16.22 for 15,600 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/walt-simonson-and-al-milgrom-x-factor-38-splash-page-1-original-art-marvel-1989-/a/322207-48123.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Now available for 22K https://www.nostalgicinvestments.com/comic-art/x-factor-38-p1?page=fridaypage&date=1197
  21. My goals remain mostly the same. Keep looking for pages from a few specific books. There’s a higher ticket piece I’ve been wanting, and I think 2023 is the year I try to pry it loose from a collector.
  22. Found 3 more pages to one of the books I’m trying to complete. Sold about a dozen pieces. Bought way more than that. Did a decent job of curating - sold pieces that I was over represented on or wasn’t passionate about, and filled in some gaps. So a good year.
  23. Interesting point, although I will say not always the case, especially with blue pencils. I love seeing the pages where the inker chose not to erase the blue pencils. You get both takes on the page.
