  1. We’ll see. I have no desire to bid on anything that’s still listed elsewhere as “$For sale or trade” …
  2. There are some decent bids early on the featured auction that just started.
  3. To me, it’s debatable which is better. Regardless, I don’t see the 16 being worth 5x more.
  4. The Excalibur 5 cover at 19.2K was light to me, at least compared to the 16 cover that sold for 96K in April.
  5. Did I miss something? I didn’t think he had his work in this auction.
  6. My only comicconnect analysis is that there’s a bit too much Coollines work in the upcoming auction for my tastes…
  7. I prefer to bid live. The two I won were at the top of my snipe max, and I’ve no doubt they would have gone higher if I bid earlier.
  8. I wish they’d put all the Kirby stuff at the end or have it’s own auction. Been in like every auction it seems for the last year. I got a few things early, but didn’t feel like hanging out for an hour while they got through the Ks, and had stuff to do.
  9. Amazing Spider-man 381 page 23. Sold 4.10.22 for 6K. 13. There’s some interesting stuff up, but nothing that’s more interesting than what’s up at auction next week. Some fun stuff, but lots of deja vu and lofty asks. Got on a commission list and that’s it for me.
  14. Secret Wars 12 page 27. Sold 4.8.22 for 15,600 at HA. Now available on CAF live for 60,000. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/splash-pages/mike-zeck-arthur-adams-and-mike-mignola-marvel-super-heroes-secret-wars-12-splash-page-27-original-art/a/7270-94209.s?type=DA-DMC-ComicArtFans-Comics-7270-04072022 https://www.comicartfans.com/comicartlive/BoothPiece.asp?pid=9683
  15. Looks like it’s the 4th page from the third story, Stampede for Wyoming.
  16. Alan Davis Thor cover. Sold 10.2.22 for 3000. Now available for 6600. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/alan-davis-and-robin-riggs-thor-v2-58-splash-page-7-original-art-marvel-2003-/a/7273-62095.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  17. That screengrab looks like it’s from a price request email response. That’s pretty much the only way to get prices from them beyond con post-its.
  18. Yeah, those eyes are definitely a choice.
  19. You think that’s bad… a lot of my wheelhouse is the same as coollines, so I know I’m being bid up, but gotta take it lest it ends up with them.
  20. To be fair to Bill, he said no investors have access to that information, and I have no reason not to believe him. He had no obligation to address anything, but he was extremely forthright. I just linked the thread since the question was asked who else was an investor.
  21. To the bolded part - not all dealers. But yes, when one of the CAF co-owners has been called out here after admitting he shilled his own auctions, I’d imagine they wouldn’t be huge fans.
  22. I’d imagine a lot of it is about collectors engaging where the art and artists are. Facebook forums have a lot of direct artist interaction - helpful for networking and art opportunities. I’ve gotten a lot of heads ups from there that've lead to some good purchases. I like this board and check in daily, but… there’s very little art posted for sale that’s not posted elsewhere and very little artist interaction - can’t think of any regulars other than stinkininkin. I’ve gotten good info and backstories here, but probably even better hot goss striking up FB messenger convos. When there’s so many options for art dialogue, you gotta prioritize…
  23. My ranking by percentage of art would be Artists/reps first, then Auctions, Conventions, other collectors, and dealers last.
  24. I don’t know about ‘most’. I’d think people regularly dropping 10k+ on pieces have more revenue streams than just the stock market. Prices didn’t drop or flatten at the start of the pandemic when the market tanked, and I don’t see it happening now. If anything, people caught flat footed two years ago should be much better prepared this go round with the amount of warning everyone’s had. But who knows. I think it’s more likely that all this prime material that’s been seeing light will slow - so even if there’s less funds for purchases, it’ll at best be a wash with less supply. I’d love to be wrong tho and get more for my money.
