  1. I wasn’t tracking a ton last night, but I didn’t think it was light. Strong price on the Clink Excaliburless Excalibur page, and same for HA Sienk NM page.

I mean, you’re beyond it, but it doesn’t surprise me that someone who wears sweat pants as formal wear is not.

  5. He’s been at this for a while. Haven’t seen his sale posts for a bit - he used to cross post his flips like 10 different places every time.
  6. When DD first started, I’d see stuff in my wheelhouse start popping up on CAF galleries attributed to the show. Watched maybe 15-20 shows after that. I thought the prices were high for the stuff I liked, and not at all a fan of having to decide in two seconds if I wanted it. Every episode took slightly longer to get through; partly because less and less would sell so the recaps took longer, and partly because the ‘funny’ clips got longer. Collectors continually talk about watching the shows for the entertainment. I find the ‘funny’ bits pretty cringe. The art is talked more about price than merit. There’s continually comments that are pretty misogynistic, homophobic and just questionable. And collectors getting exited about DD trading cards is just bizarre to me. Dealmakers I watched a few. That was just a joke. Bechara’s prices weren’t insane, but nothing of interest to me. So much of what Glen offered had deja vu, and the prices were laughable. So I just don’t watch any of them anymore, besides from the occasional amateur one an acquaintance is on. Less than 5% of my collection is from dealers, and my opinion hasn’t improved of any of them since watching. But hey - if you’re into it, you do you.
  7. Oh for sure. I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had gone higher. House ads are a weird beast that can end anywhere. Honestly, I was surprised they put it in the Sunday. It ended so late, I’m wondering if there were lots people skipped bidding on, just to shoot their shot at it.
  8. I was hoping everyone would be out doing Father’s Day stuff and would overlook the inferno piece… no such luck.
  9. especially since it sold for 9000 last year…
  10. The pessimist in me always thinks that when I win on a cut bid, that I was bidding against the house.
  11. Yeah, I get what they are. Photocopies of the original art, hand colored - I.e. color guides.
  12. The valiant color guides don’t go for much. Usually sub 100 for the panel pages. You might luck out at auction with the cover, but doubt it would go for more than a few hundred.
  13. Always so much deja vu looking at these event pics. I might be wrong, but isn’t this one of the pieces Los Bros cut up and added stats to?
  14. Yeah, first time I noticed both as well. Good changes. I got a % discount notice from a seller about a watched piece - if the original price was anywhere close to the realm of reason, that email would’ve made me consider it.
  15. Looking through the sold items, seems like a successful enough event. Nothing I saw I needed. I’ll echo others… lots of the same unsold stuff as the previous live event, and recycled art in general. Aspirational prices. Saw a few questionable first appearance designations. But that’s the market in general, so can’t fault the live event for that - just stands out more when all in the same place.
  16. Honestly, I would just take it as Scott at Catskill isn’t trying to rake collectors over the coals, which translates to flippers gotta flip.
  17. Quoting the crazy spidey sales, but conveniently disregarding the recent sale price of the actual page that’s available…
  18. Second this. There are pieces I’ve been looking for for years, that I would have happily paid half price for years ago. Unfortunately they’ve only come to market since prices have become bonkers. If anything, I’m less of a speculator now because I can’t put thrill bids on $100 pieces anymore.
  19. Maybe it’s one of those holiday gifts with purchase Anthony does…
  20. The cover’s a bit busy, but not a fan of the exaggerated anatomy of the splash. One head bow and we’re in xxx territory…
  21. Although I agree the snipe option is not always the best, I appreciate that the auctions have a set end time. Actually helps me plan out what I’m going to bid on - I can just set an alarm on my phone like a month out. There’s always items I miss on HA because I’m not going to sit around all Sunday to bid - I love my art, but I love SoCal Sundays more. And half the time I give up on CC because I have no desire to bid on one piece for half an hour.
  22. There’ve been countless conversations and suggestions over the years, and it’s clear that Clink gives zero fs about updating their business. I’ve come to accept it. With HA’s fees, I still think Clink is the better option for lower priced items - I used to think sub 10K, but I’d probably adjust to sub 5K at this point. Eventually, they’ll stop being any kind of competition and HA will have a stranglehold on the market - which will be good for nobody but HA.
  23. I had 4 items in this one that were kinda all over the place, but overall good with the results. I will say that I don’t think Clink does the best job of hyping the focused auctions the days before like they do their featured - and without the daily tracking emails like what you get with heritage, it’s easy to forget the auction’s ending. I probably would have forgotten about it if not for having pieces up.
  24. The last Excalibur cover for sale went for around $14k a month ago. People have lost their damn minds at 100K
