  1. This might be the majority of his Supes stuff, but pretty sure he had a decent amount of OA in general that had been sitting in storage til last year. But yeah, happy he’s getting the money.
  2. I think most of the Supes pages are from Bogdanove’s personal collection. He cleaned out his storage unit last year and is probably sitting on a ton of art, so don’t think he’s necessarily worried about getting top dollar.
  3. I’m always surprised by Campbell’s prices in general.
  4. Been a while since I’ve bid, but I think it’s if you bid on a lot the last 3 minutes, it adds another 3 minutes from the time of your bid. So a lot can take some time to end if people keep bidding when it’s about up.
  5. I figure the way ComicConnect works, makes more sense to keep prices low so if you keep adding those 3 minutes on at the end, you can keep anyone bidding against you on for hours.
  6. Excited to see the last minute flurry tomorrow. A lot of pieces temptingly low right now.
  7. I just imagine the Michael’s employee, admiring their finished work, and thinking ‘Nailed it!’
  8. Everybody has their own strategy. I’d imagine high price early works on a few levels. For some, they have a set price, so why not put it in early so you can move on if outbid? And also to scare others off. Doesn’t always work, but there’s def been a few times I was eyeing something that shot up quick, so I refocused on another piece.
  9. This is an extremely unfortunate ink choice…
  10. Yeah, saw him at NoLa a month or two ago. Granted it was a slower con, but I walked by his table and nobody there. He was all smiles and I probably could’ve gotten a sketch… but when artists act s**tty to fans that don’t merit it, I check out. Got some beignets instead.
  11. Yeah, there’s a few things I’m tracking I’m surprised by the prices of already, even in this market.
  12. I emailed about my Jan purchase. They got back to me a few days later and overnighted it. Didn’t request it, they just did it.
  13. I’m always curious why there’s not more chatter about their featured auctions. Started today, already some big bids in. Not my wheelhouse, but surprised the non Spider-man Spider-man McFarlane page is blowing past the others. Any standouts?
  14. Yeah, I’m thoroughly confused by the 90/10 split. 50/50 seems to be pretty standard, but the way you’re describing it is that you expect the 10% off if it’s not competed by the due date?
  15. There’s a lot of aspirational pricing up right now. This Moon Knight page went up a week or two ago for an already lofty 30 something K. Didn’t sell immediately, so relisted 20K more to 57k. https://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3DMoon%2Bknight%26GO2%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCA&id=1551272
  16. Well, the first two “sellers” were both in Philadelphia. What are the odds this guy is too?
  17. It’s been about a month since I won and paid for stuff in Jan. Not even a tracking number yet.
  18. “I made a deal to trade for this page years ago and now I’m glad that I did. I’ve noticed anything associated with this story line goes for exceptional money.” When dealers start saying the quiet part out loud.
  19. The lower prices can just as easily be attributed to subject fatigue or less eyes on an auction. Late last year HA had up a bunch of German magazine cover paintings. They were split up over 5 weeks or so. The pieces I won on the last week were about half what they were going for at the start. But I get it. I only bid live as well.
  20. Just the nature of the beast with an artist as popular as he is. On a positive note, a few years ago at SDCC, he did a remark for me on a print I bought from him. Basically for free.
  21. What was even more annoying was actually being at the con he was supposed to attend, and missing the post being busy with con stuff.
  22. From Scott - this is what Mark Sinnott had to say Not Joe's. He did one daily SM in 1979, one in 1982 and 4 in 1983 before starting regularly on the Sunday's in 1992. He probably signed this at a show. This is definetly Romita.
  23. I asked Scott. He is gonna try to verify it, but he believes that it’s Sinnott inks.
  24. I’ve not watched in a while. But judging from the amount of pieces posted still for sale post show, I’m gonna assume yes. It def was towards the start of it.
