I wonder what the story is on Uncle Scrooge #347... gotta be shenanigans right?

Yeah a few weeks ago I saw him interviewed for a news story where he’s representing Mickey Dolenz… something about the FBI investigating the Monkees back in the day.

Trying to find more information on the Curator Pedigree. Nothing I've been able to find reveals who the collector was and where the collection was purchased and stored, like what city and what museum did this collector work for? Can anyone shine anymore light beyond what I've been able to find so far? Thanks!
I quickly looked over this and the other thread to see if the location was answered, and I don’t think it has. I dug out my copy to see if it was mentioned on the “certificate” (nope- see pic)… but I seem to remember reading somewhere it was either Minneapolis or St. Paul, the Twin Cities of MN. I’ll see if I can’t get a message through to John to try to verify…

I bought a cheapish copy from John a couple years ago off eBay. Beautiful copy of Our Love #1 if not for a staple pop on the cover.

The almost final book in the collection was the romance title Girls' Love Stories #56, a nothing-in-particular issue of a nothing-special title that was simply frustratingly difficult to locate.
Very nice cover! Pic borrowed from a recently ended eBay auction…

Yeah, my first thought is that maybe the back cover was removed from all of them which may have lead to nearly all of them being thrown away (or becoming coverless) after being read.

I'm really interested in hearing back once you get this, to know if the back cover is different or if there any other advertising elements. Harvey made complimentary copies of a huge array of issues, often for military distribution. And Charlton did quite a few as charity promos for the Cerebral Palsy Association (and perhaps others). But I don't recall seeing one of these from Archie before, and it seems the major comic databases haven't either.
Drumroll please…
The back cover was torn off. Front cover detached at top staple, tear at bottom staple, cover still attached there. Nice OW page quality, no indication inside as to what it was promoting.

Could also be on the Mile High website. Googling “Mile High Comics” brings up a link directly to that featured page.

Most examples probably sold at Heritage (don’t know if directly from Chuck or someone he sold them to) then was resold on eBay, maybe some here & elsewhere. Googling “Edgar Church Advertising Art” shows a bunch of it, some really nice examples… sample:

Interesting!
So what is that color photo version? Is that a reprint? 2nd print? Variant?
I don’t know the full story on it, but speculate that the color version was first, they went ballistic on how bad it turned out, and said “Spoon it! Just redo it in B&W!”
Color versions seem to be less common, there’s one up on eBay right now… I’m not going to go after it since it wouldn’t be a major upgrade
Correction: 2 on eBay, but one has a stock photo & very low grade.
