  1. That photo looks like a really nice scan. Wish I could photo my books as nicely.
  2. David's a great guy, easy to deal with, quick payer, and and all around nice guy. Thanks Another easy transaction.
  3. Saw the completed listing the day after it sold. Congrats on that one
  4. While I always appreciated the ROM mythology, I believe it was hampered by the bad Al Milgrom art. Had the series been drawn by Golden or Byrne/Austin, I think it would still carry some gravitas. Not sure if art would have helped Golden micronauts are nice but not heavily collected I think big bulky robots just don't garner a ton of interest outside those that grew up at the start. I do have a sweet long box of Rom I am going through
  5. I gave away my lower grade Avengers 1 as part of a very large and over the top boards xmas exchange....guess I was feeling very generous as I'd only paid $50 for it years before, it's only hit me how after the avengers movie I'd now have to pay a ton to get another copy, and I've yet to do that. I did pick up a restored 4.5 but immediately sold it for an to another boardie that was looking for it for a friend at my cost. I also sold my superman 2 to a boardie for the price I paid which was quite good. He has had it conserved and I'm sure is treating it right though so no real "reg-er-ts" on that one. It would easily cost me 4-6 x the money to get it back now. Some day I'll buy a higher grade copy of both of these issues and any pain will be released I do regret selling my low grade Headline 8 Hitler cover and my Action 28 that was probably a 9.0 in pre cgc days.
  6. First Herbie? Can't say I would've taken it home with me, even if I did know. first herbie is cool
  7. Been there Undergrounds. Drug accessories And comics. What's not to love My dad took me there a couple of times but I mainly bought my stuff from the rexall and terr was a mom and pop shop which I can't for the life of me recall where it was. Near Martha O'learies I think??? It had a rack just near the main cashier area Wait - you knew Martha O'Leary? I went to her daycare for a few years and we use to call her Magic Martha since she could pull off band aids without it hurting. Didn't she live right down from Denali Elementary School since I remember walking to her house from school. Old school memories. Yep. Same Martha And her two boys She liked to take your temp recitally if you were sick...ack...not such a magi moment :-) You sure that wasn't something she saved for special boys since I don't remember that happening to me (or maybe I blanked it out). Maybe child services got to her a year or two before you showed up...corrected her ways.... I recall a little thermometer action

  10. Better scans...and now in the market...wish I knew more about these. I notice that an image of this one doesn't show up in the GCD, yet.
  11. Great Ducks you have there.... Here's a few Variants you are unlikely to come across Four Color 855 Broken Arrow Four Color 893 Jim Bowie and Jungle Jim #13....of course not a Four color, but issues he did appear in Four Color 490 (#1), Four Color 454 (#2) and Four Color #1020 (#20), So I'm giving it a pass and saying that 3-19 almost qualify.
  12. Great classic... Any pedigree without obvious notation are always a little suspect for me but hey, does it come with an original cert... I wish I had a cert with my Okajima but the name on the cover is good enough for me. I'm sure its on the list. Just an amazing book.
  13. I'm amazed you got anything. If I was there first I'd have just bought everything :-) But I guess there must have been some drek in the 2000...
  14. Tragic for the estate but a great score for all present I'm sure
  15. Looks like a high grade OO collection I picked up this summer...what a feeling and great find on your part... right place right time Gets the worm Congratulations they look pristine :-) Was that all there was (150 or so) or did you just not show the other stuff? There were 450 books and non sports cards in my find and some other esoteric stuff...
  16. News Flash TV and pop culture works
  17. Today's low grade find :-) Bottom spine gone but still all 16 pages to centerfold and centerfold is tight. Cover is still attached but to back cover with tear through front cover. Wonder if this is a 1.0...1.5....1.8...2.0 Betting 1.5 myself? I cut it in half for board hosting from the phone ... :-)
  18. I also think anything I have to sell has legs and anything I'm buying is more of a favor to you and should be priced as such.
  19. I think the whole lot of high grade secondary DC titles like Doom Patrol, Metal Men, Challengers if the Unknown, Hawk-man, Atom, and some issues from Brave and bold and Showcase titles have lots of room. Common in low grade but tougher in 8.0+ and still relatively cheap.
  20. Recent garage sale find Little out of focus And now in my sale thread. :-)
