  1. All my "Mechanical Error" books have always had non-clickable "Shipping". Rest of mine are red.
  2. I'm no expert as to the pressing/cleaning process and I'm sure there are different techniques. That being said, and not knowing Spineworks reputation, could these mysterious water stains be from the pressing process? As someone else mentioned, not all defects are mentioned in notes, but stains are a big deal to CGC and really affect the grade. Need some experts to chime in and tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
  3. OP lucky that some of the new grades were not lower when considering shipping, cracking slab, handling during grading and recently hired graders.
  4. Sure, if you feel it's worth the slim possibility of lose or damage from shipping back and forth.
  5. Shipped... 7/12/22 Some 8.5's and 9.0 with grader notes only mentioning .... very light creasing to cover... and 14 out of 25 came back 9.8.
  6. Fedex sucks in my area. They leave packages outside of our mailboxes, 1/10 mile from our house.
  7. I just sent 25 via Econ Slow Lane with the same reasoning... of course they get the Joey treatment first so I'll be seeing another birthday and maybe a couple Christmases before I see my comic books.
  8. CGC considers this a production flaw on Wolverine Limited # 1
  9. Received at CGC 5/12/22 25 MODERN Slow Lane 07/08/22 Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging
  10. I hate when that happens. Did they look in the vault at the PO? I've had packages end up there because they were either Registered or required a signature.... or they attempt to redeliver which pisses me off because they never deliver packages to my house because it's a 1/10 mile from my mailbox.
  11. My MCS sales were one in May and zero since then. Definitely slowing down.
  12. So true. I remember exactly where I was and how I felt trying to read that book. What brings on the nightmares... the story (which I couldn't read) or the 3D effect?
  13. Yup.... similar experience. Getting odd number of books graded 9.2 that in the not so distant past were coming back 9.4 -9.6
  14. I remember reading a 3D Batman (maybe this one) in the 1960's... didn't get very far into the story because the 3D effect made me nauseous. Comic book disappeared soon after.
  15. That's how the verification works. Signature in the presence CGC personnel at their office or at a convention. Signed books are sealed in tamper proof bag at conventions and then one brings to CGC table to be sent to Florida to be graded and slabbed. Slabbing /sealing guarantees that it was the book with witnessed signature. As mentioned above, to acquire additional signatures, slabbed book must be in the presence of CGC and they will crack the slab, witness new signature and regrade/slab. Books are regraded because it will be handled in it's raw state by the artist and there is a possibility of damage. Having the book pressed by CCS when graded is recommended in case of rough handling.
  16. Question 1: If you plan on sending in, lets say, around 50 books during the year long membership then you'll easily get value from the Elite membership with the 10% discount on grading. You also get the $150 credit.
  17. I'm sitting in front of a stack of 25 comic books from 1972-74. These are from my collection that's been stuck back east, well, since the 1970's. Slowly having them shipped when my friend is in the mood. This batch is mostly duplicates but all key issues. Average grade is around 8.0 so Econ FT will scrape the bone clean in most cases. What does it say about a company when I'm hesitant to use their service. Seems to be no "love" for this hobby outside of profiting off of it. Most of their profit and focus is on the current (not using the term Modern because that goes back to the 90's) crop of books, many flooding in as spec and quick turn-around money makers. Paying $11 more for "Economy" should buy us more than economy service, especially since there is a lot of comic book history in these "economy" books.
  18. anzcomics ..... all lower case. Thanks for adding to list.
  19. Originally returned because of lots of debris under slab... this is what I got back... just as bad.
  20. Is the Jim Lee signing a CGC Signature Series event? It's not clear reading your question, but if it's not a CGC SS event then having an unauthenticated signature not witnessed by CGC will result in either a lower grade Blue Label or more likely a Qualified Green label with defect (signature) not affecting the grade but affecting the value since green labels are not desirable. Another option, if not CGC SS event, is to keep the label but not resubmit to CGC for grading. If this comic book is a keeper just put it in a mylar sleeve with backerboard and enjoy it. If it is a CGC SS event I would have CGC crack the slab at the venue.
