  1. Don't worry about trying to add the $5 fee to your order. CGC will add it to your invoice when they receive your order.
  2. One can only hope, but if books show up for signing as "Received at CCS" then you're probably correct. Confusing that they would be listed that way since they aren't sent to CCS until after the signing.
  3. Correct. It just appears that some are being signed before the cut-off for us early birds.
  4. Mr Perez probably signing in multiple sessions because of the volume received. I sent my book in early and was surprised to see the status show up this morning.
  5. For the George Perez signing... this appeared this morning. 1/27/22 : In-house Signing Grading : Received at CCS Because of this.... "All submissions must be received by CGC no later than Monday, January 31, 2022, to qualify for this private signing event."... I thought the signing would happen in February.
  6. I sent Joey a comic book with indents from writing in the middle of the front cover and our friendly neighborhood presser did his magic and book ended up grading 9.8
  7. Yes, but are they being sold at those prices or are the sellers throwing them against the wall, hoping they'll stick.
  8. In case you weren't aware, CGC home page has a spot to put your tracking# to confirm delivery.
  9. Some years ago my first submission of a few major keys were sent without pressing/clean because I was new to the game. Once I realized the potential benefit I sent them to Joey ( I believe my first with him) and all came back with higher grades. If I remember correctly, one 9.2 regraded to a 9.6. Since these were major keys (SM 129) just one grade bump was significant. The risk/reward ratio obviously depends on the books in question.
  10. Guess the answer is no. I copy/paste all my notes and file them away for a rainy day. That was before CGC gave us all access. Would have been interesting to compare those notes with the notes if you press and resub.
  11. I even sent this one back to CGC and according to their graders this is a common bindery defect that doesn't lower a 9.8 book. Mind you, rest of comic book is pretty, pretty sharp.
  12. First dis-appointment in comics. (Well, maybe a close second)
  13. Thank you Jennifer. Appreciate CGC working with us to honor shipping choice on all pre 1/18 orders.
  14. Thanks. The last time I returned a slab because a corner was bent it came back with a smaller bend at the same spot. Luckily they were able to fix the fix without any damage to the book, so what you say can happen. CGC has been good about fixing scratches and debris in the past so lets hope they continue. MyComicShop mentions scuffs, scratches (exterior & inner well) and debris in their description of the slabs they sell. Many are listed with some minor defect.
  15. Good morning. Thank you for the quick reply. My question actually concerned invoices created before January 18th (as in 2021) but not in house by that date. Would I be able to update my shipping choice (use my UPS account) once order is in house?
  16. I have a handful of submissions for CGC grading that were submitted months ago but are currently being pressed (not CCS) and will not meet the January 18 deadline for UPS return shipping. I'm sure that there are many others in the same boat and I feel that this sudden change with a short deadline is a bit unfair. What does CGC plan to do for orders, with UPS return shipping, received after January 18th? I do not trust my local service from either Fedex or USPS in handling my packages safely, which is why I prefer UPS. I have recently opened an account with UPS so can use that for any future orders. Will I get a chance to select return shipping service on my orders being delivered after January 18th? Thank you.
  17. What he says.... you can put the PO box in the address (unless there is a spot on the form to put in the PO Box #) Don't use both the PO and the street address.... they are different locations.
  18. Just sent all ten back for a fix. Made sense to return them all instead of just the worst of the bunch. They should be received tomorrow and fingers crossed that they are back soon and in pristine condition.
  19. I'm trying to submit a comic book for the George Perez signing. When I click on "Resubmitting" to add a previous CGC graded book I loose the option to choose a custom label. Can I add the comic without using the "resubmit" option in order to add the custom Perez label? Also, because the comic book is in a holder, is there a possible way to send directions on my preferred area for signing? .... Thank you.
  20. Scuff in the 2nd pic is about 4 inches. Of the 47 slabs, 8 have scuff marks (all on back) and one has small scratch on top front. Six of the scuffs are about 1/2" and one about 1". If the scuffs were on the front I'd be more inclined to send them back. I'm definitely contacting CGC about the bent corner and the 4" scuff. I'm hesitant about returning the others for the very reasons you mentioned. I've returned books in the past, for scratches and debris, but with CGC's backlog these days it definitely won't be as quick a turn-around.
