  1. Smaller distribution. I believe sent to some military bases.
  2. Yes, but I've been getting similar notes on pressed books.
  3. Thor 337 is a newsstand copy.... slight bonus if in great shape.
  4. I've noticed that graders are loving the 9.2 these days.
  5. I contacted the seller,,,, "The holders are open at the bottom and sealed at the top."
  6. ...and why would you buy it if you don't appreciate the signature...?
  7. Would be interesting to see the seller's description on this auction
  8. I noticed the change in form just the other day when I had to return 22 out of 25 books for various reasons. Since none of them involved clerical errors only choice was Damaged in Transit and I described the issue with each as I entered them via cert #. No other changes to procedure as far I can tell. CGC picked up shipping and should do the same sending them back. Three books were damaged so hopefully I'll hear from CGC before they ship them back. Rest of the slabs had excessive Newton Rings, some both front and back.
  9. Well, CGC is not going to have a button suggesting that they caused the damage or missed QC issues so given the choice one just describes the issue and hope it's fixed. They know were the problem lays but adding a third "Reason for return" button isn't in their interest. I use a sharpie to circle the problem on the slab so that they can't miss it or forget to fix it.
  10. Odds are in your favor that CGC will mention artist's name on label. I sent in a comic book with sig on page 1 that I forgot was there and Artist's name ended up being mentioned on blue label.
  11. The gaps do seem unusually wide.... Most of the risk will be from shipping back and forth. I've sent many books back for fixes and usually things turn out OK, most of the time.
  12. Gotta love this. Filling out the Mechanical Error form and noticed this change. Totaling ignoring QC mishaps and blaming all damage and debris as "in transit".
  13. If this is a new case something isn't right. Can you upload a pic?
  14. https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/10309/SDCC-CGC-CGCTC-CSG/ This has most of the answers for what to do..... You can try the "ASK CGC" thread to get direct answers or call customer service.
  15. Ya gotta ask yourself, do you feel lucky.... second question should be has the book already been pressed? The defects between a 9.8 and 9.6 are so minute that, unless this is a long term investment, it may be worth the savings for a book that displays just as well, if not better than, the all holy 9.8.
  16. Paint markers take a long time to dry and some may not fully dry at all. Nothing but trouble.
  17. Hopefully it's debris outside the inner well and not what you fear.... When I return slabs with Mechanical errors, I take a sharpie and circle the problem area. That way the ME crowd won't miss it. CGC pays the shipping both ways. If you haven't done the paperwork yet, at the end you'll add shipping info and download a shipping label on their dime.
  18. Just opened a box of 25, fresh off the UPS truck. No scuffs (well, one small one) on the cases. Big improvement there. (22) with Newton Rings (2) 9.8 X-Men 1 (1991) cover pulled away from bottom staple on both. Too tight an inner well perchance. (1) 9.8 Thor 372 bent lower front corner. Also need to return Ronin 6 for the third time. First it was debris, next it was Newton Rings and now it's Newton Rings and debris.
  19. Just 'cause I feel like........ Although the rep said "tape pulled from cover", that's not what the Grader Notes read nor how I would interpret it. First thing that came to mind was if the bag was sealed with tape(?) and when book was removed the tape snagged to bottom of the book. Very common mishap that I'm sure sends shivers down the spines of quite a few collectors upon reading this. Anyway, pretty odd situation. Guessing CGC has the book in hand to review and hopefully it will work out in your favor.
  20. Looks like OP is actually having issue with the "MY CGC" icon at the top of the page. Maybe there was a hiccup on the site when you tried it. I just clicked it and it's working fine.
