  1. I'm glad they released this. It will help get some of the terrible-ness that was Jessica Jones out of my mouth. -J.
  2. Scam. Snikt!1988 has already said that seller is using pics of his book before he (Snikt) had it graded. -J.
  3. He looks every bit the petulant son who is bored and amusing himself with his manipulated "gladiator battle" while Dadddy is away. -J.
  4. It's Lex Jr. At least as posited by multiple sources I have seen. The "real" and bald Lex Sr. is purportedly being held back for a later flick. Possibly the JLA movies. Eisenberg's Lex is a red herring. -J.
  5. Exactly. Estimated print runs and distribution are not mutually exclusive. I don't know why some people keep implying that they are. Also the ASM 678 VenoMJ was a 1:50 on a 50,000 print run not a 1:25. I've seen estimated print runs on the variant at 800, but I would personally put it at about 500-600. Shops just weren't ordering heavily on ASM during this time. The 1:25 ratio I was referring to pertained to the X-23 #1 Dell'Ottto variant. Additionally, looks like somebody decided to pop another 9.6 at $1695 today... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-678-CGC-9-6-WHITE-pages-Venom-Variant-Very-Rare-/262064662337?hash=item3d04456741:g:CGwAAOSwd0BVxQXQ -J. fyi - The estimated actual distribution figure was 62,680 copies in NA. 54,000 and some change according to this link (issue # 678): http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2012/2012-01.html -J.

  7. Relax guys, eisenberg is actually not portraying the quintessential lex luthor from the comics. He's playing his son, Jr. (according to this article): http://www.polygon.com/2015/10/6/9463323/jesse-eisenberg-lex-luthor-batman-v-superman Also, wonder woman sucks and (has always) translated poorly to the screen and it looks to be no different this time. If Warner is smart they will scratch the (planned) solo movie with her from their line up. -J.
  8. Yet another terrible result for Voldemort. -J. The 4.5 is lower than any sale on GPA in more than a year. The 6.5 is 20%+ below the last CGC sale. Even factoring in a 10% decline to account for some overall back sliding in price for the book (which may or may not be a trend) that's still 10%+ below a comparable CGC slab. -J.
  9. Yet another terrible result for Voldemort. -J.
  10. Somebody just paid $1225 for a raw, "9.4" copy from a 0 feedback seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-678-Mary-Jane-Venom-Variant-9-4-NM-Marvel-Comics-2012-/172012327830?hash=item280cbbd396:g:j4gAAOSw8-tWVnIy -J.
  11. Wow, simply amazing! Is that a record for a coverless copy? I think it was just 2 years ago that I bought a nice remaindered copy for less than that here on the boards. Coverless copies have been going in the $2500 range all year. What I have yet to see is a complete cover come up for sale. That would probably go for more than double that. -J.
  12. I'd hold off. Ebay is flooded with them. -J. But not graded. And I have a 9.8 candidate. That all white cover will likely yield a plethora of 9.8's. And right now despite the stated print run, the book does not appear to very hard to get a hold of. -J.
  13. That's difficult to answer. Seems to be all over the place. In many of the lower grades (4.0 3.5 2.5 2.0) prices spiked last Summer and then took a serious nose dive (3.5 went for $6800 in Aug). Maybe $2500-$3500 a point (although 1.0s are going for $4500) That 3.5 sale in August seems to be an anomaly though. I can't find it to see there was any obvious flaw bringing down the sale price. Other grades have not taken a nose dive at all that I see. 3.5's are in that 11-13K range. Yet this 5.5 OW-W recently sold for $12K HA auction Voldermort slab. -J. Could be. Metro has a Voldemort 5.0 CR-OW for $13,500. Even if sold at full price, that would be $2,700 per point. I think if they felt they would get significantly more in a CGC slab, they would submit it. Possible, of course, it's a consignment book that they are letting sit as is. If I'm not mistaken Bob recently got a whole lot more for a CGC 5.5 on his site. I believe his original ask was $19k. The last CGC 5.5 on GPA went for $15k in January of this year, but C-link had one go for $16.1k in August. Voldemort slabs definitely under-perform CGC slabs and the margin seems to be widening. -J. I don't want to get our posts expunged for discussing the other company. but if their books underperform, it makes you wonder why people as savvy as Metro wouldn't reslab the competitor's books. Unless the competitor is grading more loosely. -J.

  16. $1500 for a raw, with an un-witnessed Stan Lee sig. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolverine-1-Deadpool-Variant-signed-by-Stan-Lee-/252176343330?hash=item3ab6e1a122:g:zfcAAOSwlV9WTShq -J.
  17. You need something to fill those 13 episodes. -J.
  18. The majority of the critics like it also. This board is about the only place I have seen any thing negative. Fan boys ! its always that way. What critics? It does seem like we're in a world where only positive comments are allowed. Now that the initial (and expected) gush of enthusiasm is waning, more and more less favorable reviews and comments are starting to appear on imdb as well, as people are starting to look under the hood and past the sheen that is the "Marvel Brand". I don't this show will hold up for the long haul. It was obviously an experiment, it just didn't work out. I still give Marvel credit for trying it though. -J.
  19. I think its only regraded if the post or posts are broken. That is a fairly severe crack, along the bottom, and it splits up the side as well. The post could be broken, but the seller doesn't say either way. I don't think that book goes back in for a re-holder without it being scrutinized for "integrity of grade". Books can get damaged inside the well if the slab is just shaken vigorously. Anything is possible with the drop (or drops) that slab has obviously experienced to cause that kind of damage. Buyer took a risk. It may or may not pay off. -J.
