  1. Come again? -J. The X23 Dellotto - or whatever his name is. Oh yes, had to pass on that. Condition doesn't warrant the price IMO. -J. Hey J. Dell Otto also had a recently released amazing spiderman 3 variant. The cover art looks pretty sweet, kind of reminiscent of the 667 It is. I want one. I just bought one. Thanks for the heads up 'reezy... -J.
  2. It's a 1:25 on a ~50,000 print run so they're out there. There have been six on ebay in the last 2.5 months and I had a seventh one offered to me in a PM for an unrealistic price. People seem to be thinking it's "the next ASM 667" and trying to price it that way. The book is too "common" for all that, but I still like the cover/artist. -J.

  4. I didnt tell you where you could post, I said dont troll this section and get our thread locked because you feel the need to argue. as for you and your friends versus everyone else, the truth will unfold on Nov.20th. Jessica Jones has nothing to do with the Bahrain episode, and the subject matters (Rape, Abuse, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Sexual Empowerment, Pregnancy, Abortion, Inter-Race Relationships, Power and Responsibility, being a victim vs overcoming it, PTSD, etc) covered by this show will be very significant to a lot of people.. The critics, blogs, and media will absolutely go bonkers for it, and the quality and tone of the show appear to be spot on with the Netflix Universe. Again, very little of that came through in either of those trailers. Some people didn't much care for the Preacher trailer either. It happens. People and their pesky "wrong" opinions.... -J.
  5. Have you read the source material? I have and it is perfect for a modern TV show. ...or one episode of SHIELD. -J. Nope. Have you read the series? Perhaps you should re-read my original comment about the trailer(s). -J. I'm quickly forming the opinion that reading any of your comments will probably be a waste of my time. Ditto. -J.
  6. Someone is showing arrogance, but its not me. Yes, opinions can be wrong, in your opinion 2+2 might equal 5, but it doesnt... You have complete freedom to hold any opinion you would like, that doesnt mean they are all correct, or all of equal value. Stepping into this thread and declaring a bunch of spurious opinions as facts is a nice marriage of arrogance and ignorance. Stick to being wrong about modern variants, and dont be going around trolling threads in the movie/tv section and getting them locked with the arguments that ensue. You have a lot of nerve, pal. I'll post where I like. And incidentally, essentially all of my non-fanboy friends had the same reaction to the trailers. I guess their opinions equal 5 as well. -J.

  9. A raw "VF" copy just went for $900... http://item.ebay.co.uk/221934132239?item_hash4=8448760a&LH_Complete=1&LH_BIN=1&LH_BO=1&_ipg=200&_pgn=1&rc=nt&rmvSB=true -J.
  10. That's a lot of wrong in one post, bravo Oh, you again. The guy who thinks opinions can be "wrong". Well at least you're consistent with your condescending arrogance. -J.
  11. Again, I'm just not so sure there's enough meat on that bone to sustain an entire show. And the villain's power, at least as depicted in the trailers, is very similar to what was already done in the SHIELD show, the "Bahrain" episode of Season Two (the best episode of that show to date by the way). Agreed with Marvelcollector's overall assessment. Though I can't say it's a bad thing that Marvel is pushing the limits of their oeuvre, but we can't expect them to all be gems, because they won't be. -J.
  12. Obviously a very well produced show, but I have yet to see anything that wows or immediately draws in the viewer the way the Daredevil trailer did (particularly for the non-comic-book-nerd crowd). Perhaps it is just the source material and a weak F-list character that does not seem capable of supporting their own show, but this material looks like a long, drawn out (no pun intended) version of the monster of the week stuff they've done on the SHIELD show. Fortunately the canvas is small, so if it doesn't quite connect it won't harm the Marvel brand at all. -J.
  13. You're talking about the bumpy forehead when they showed her close up in the church scene when she was talking to Jim and Domino? Yeah I noticed that too. Still a little cutie though. -J.

  16. This book is going to hurt a lot of people. Doubt it, fans, actual gwenpool fans are buying this book, that means the book is going to stay in PC's so the book won't be recycled and relisted from buyer to buyer. She's only just getting started, same was said for spider gwen and both EoS2 and the Land variant maintained their value, they drop a bit but they aren't dollar books like people thought they were going to be. I bet she gets her solo series early next year, too much money for marvel to not take advantage of it. Sure, Spider Gwen has real fans now. I met a ton of them at NYCC. I even asked one girl (she was doing a Spider Gwen cosplay, and a good one) was this a temporary thing. She just said I love the character and will stick with her no matter what. SG has now had two series and a large number of appearances in a short time in other books. Gwenpool has had one gimmick variant cover, how does that make a lasting fan base? Yes the character could last, but there is nothing to base that on yet. They are both stupid bastardizations of a character. The only difference is, one "came out of nowhere" and ended up being popular. While the other is a parody of a parody of a parody that is being heavily speculated on since Day One. However I would not bank heavily on the long term viability of either character much beyond the cosplay set. -J.
  17. Grabbed a Web of Spider man #1, 9.8 from Greg at a great price in a no fuss, no muss, flawless transaction. Thanks Greg! Regards, -Jay
  18. Marvel sells out at distribution on almost all of their books. But the difference between Hulk #14 selling out at distribution and Star Wars #3 selling out at distribution is that demand is still there for Star Wars #3 due to under ordering by the RETAILERS combined with greater demand by the public. If retailers order more - Marvel prints more. It's really that simple. There's no nerfarious plan to make a 2nd print and manipulate the market into thinking something is hotter than it is. Star Wars #3 (as an example) DID sell out at RETAIL in many markets, and demand dictated that another print was needed. If it had sold out at distribution, but a ton of it was still available on the retail level (i.e. no demand), they wouldn't have printed another run. In other words: additional printings are primarily based upon demand after sell through at the retail level, which they would obviously have no idea of when actually printing the book. Marvel would PREFER that retailers (somehow) know the amount of copies they need over a 12 month period for every book they publish - but most retailers order for what they need in a much, much smaller window than that. In the Direct Market, set up to the benefit of the publishers, they publish close to the vest on most everything - based upon what retailers order. And Marvel's additional art for the Star Wars books has been a change of background color or a color overlay. No big added expense there. The one big publisher that over publishes - DC Comics - was down heavily this year. Marvel chose a business model that is more cost efficient, not as a way to manipulate the market. That occurs in advertising and promotion, not publishing. Where was this post in the ASM 667 Dell'Otto thread? -J. That actually works against your argument as ASM 667 was ordered at a quantity consistent with the monthly median. We just don't know which covers. But we know which one we don't see. -J.

  20. it should get about that; perhaps a 9.2 Or a 9.4 perhaps... -J.
  21. Has the book attained any consistent value that would warrant it being slabbed? -J.
  22. What is the significance of 66? I understand Turner because he has a fanbase. Other than that? Also, 7,100 copies is low? Checking the census for the book (because that's how I roll) there are 140 total slabs, 89, 9.8. Not a lot in totality, but a fair amount in a 9.8 IMO. Plus they come up for sale somewhat regularly raw, which suggests to me that they're out there. -J.
