  1. Nice pick up! This one was definitely an instant classic. (thumbs u -J.
  2. $3,350.00 A decent price. The book seems a bit stagnant right now though.... -J.
  3. That's pretty freaking cool cover. I haven't even seen this before. -J.
  4. I'm going to go out on a limb and say $2300. For the very reason you stated. -J. It's a nice .5 that's for darned sure. The chunk out of the back cover seems to be the worst of it, otherwise with just a completely split spine wouldn't it'd be like a 1.8 - 2.0? It would have been a 1.5 for sure. I think only GA books get a break up to a 1.8 with a totally split spine. I'm also wondering how that 4.5 BB 28 is going to do that ends in a couple hours... -J.

  6. This is actually a really nice looking 0.5 for the grade. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201240890245?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Any predictions on where it will/should end up? -J.
  7. Sweet book! Looks like a nice high grade copy! -J.
  8. The book was definitely worked on prior to being deposited into its new holder. (thumbs u -J.
  9. This happened to it: http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch%2Easp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3DCaptain%2BAmerica%2B1%26x%3D21%26y%3D1%26ItemType%3DCB&id=1023793 -J.
  10. I hope it does equally well, as that is a very sharp 6.0, but he will miss out on my bid now that I won the other 6.0 on Comiclink (I had bid high on the Comicconnect book the first time around.) Without the chipping, though, it presents better and should fetch a nice price! And thanks to everyone for the kind words -- sending out the check to Comiclink today... Dan To not needing time payments. And that is also a sharp looking 6.0 on comic connect. The seller will still probably do very well, I have to give him credit for having the stones for going for it. -J. He had to say goodbye to his early FF's to get the AF 15. I know the feeling though, I had to say goodbye to a 50% completion run of Journeys 9.0-9.2 to get the artwork I have. A very noble and worthy sacrifice. (thumbs u -J.

  12. Looks like this dude opted to let comic connect re-list his 6.0 after the auction mis-hap rather than taking his $30k+ he got from the first auction and running out the backdoor with it. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=580276 -J.
  13. What was the grade for the book? Just curious! So glad I have my lowly 2.0 I couldn't afford this book anymore! Dan but the 6.0 from comic link. (thumbs u -J.
  14. Here's the one from heritage last night. http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-vg-35-off-white-pages/a/121450-12243.s?type=bidnotice-tracked-endofauction -J.
  15. Heritage had an equally chipped 3.5 close at $9500 last night as well. Great prices are being realized on this book, especially in the lower grades. (thumbs u -J.
  16. Ebay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-1-Premier-Comic-Issue-MINT-CGC-9-9-/111540370909?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item19f852fddd -J.
  17. Considering how hot this book is, I am surprised the variant hasn't shot up past $300 raw NM. I know its only a 1:25, but when the regular # 2 is fetching $30 raw nm, $125 seems cheap for the variant. I had my chance at 5 copies for $25 a piece, but I passed because the huge Gwen-head I was staring at bothered me. Big mistake. This. And the artwork on it is . Superior spiderman #20 it ain't. My guess is a graded 9.8 settles at around $200-$250 by the time all the speculators and dealers finish selling back and forth to each other. -J.
  18. Wow nice congrats. Book looks amazing in the slab. I'm surprised nobody chimed in on grade estimates when you first posted it. Kind of makes me want one now. -J.
  19. Not a bad back up plan at all either. Talk about big league.... -J.
  20. Uh-oh, sorry about that. Can't have you getting a yellow wolvie 1 before I get a blue UXM 510 sketch anyway! -J.
  21. I agree. The siege 3 never really has floated my boat either. Always seemed corny to me and like a cover that could easily look "dated" in a short period of time, if it doesn't already. Plus I don't care much for the "cartoony" art work. Much prefer the near photo-realistic art work on the wolverine 1, the back story that can be gleaned in my imagination as to how wolverine ended up in deadpool's costume and the look on his face is classic. It really is some of JSC's best work and he does not draw wolverine that often. As for the listing, I emailed the seller and asked him what kind of crack he was smoking and suggested he take a look at recent sales on ebay and/or GPA. Five minutes later he ended the listing and messaged me back with a heartfelt thanks for the heads up. He said he had gotten multiple offers with in mere minutes of listing it. Big surprise there. -J.
  22. Either that guy doesn't know what he is doing or it is a fraud listing. -J.
