  1. That's interesting. They say that the sale last week for $575 was a "high" but I see a sale for $667 six weeks ago.... -J.
  2. I paid more for no sigs or blue label notes. (And no, sigs do not "add" $20k in value to anything .) -J.
  3. Have I told you lately how delicious your sour grapes taste to me? If not... well, they do. -J.
  4. One for $660 before that. That book is sooooo under valued. Be patient. It's percolating... -J.
  5. Both? What was the other one? (I missed it) -J.
  6. I know of one guy who has spent a good chunk of change over the years to "hoard" a grand total of 5 copies. The buyer of the HA copy only has the one now, the winner against multiple other bidders. I dont know anything about those other bidders. -J.
  7. Nope! But the buyer did send me a PM to share his win. It was a multiple bidder situation. Congrats to him again. -J.
  8. $41k for a hulk 180?? That puts a 9.8 181 at about $200k. -J.
  9. Price compression seems to have settled in on a lot of the bigger ticket moderns and then *Boom!* once you get to "9.8". -J.
  10. I've been saying 9.6's have been under valued for years relative to what a 9.4 and 9.8 goes for. Especially since a 9.6 can be just one press away from being a 9.8 if you have the balls to gamble. (But yeah the overspray on the 9.6 probably kept a bidder or two away.) -J.
  11. "PQ"- no. The big crease on the top right edge- possibly. I would expect to see something like that on a 5.0-5.5, not a 6+. -J. *Edit- The centering isnt the best either.
  12. The "debate" is just between the same two or three dudes and a couple of windmills at this point. But damn, I didn't even know one of these was in that auction. That blows the doors off the previous high. -J.
  13. That price was on comiclink. Interestingly, a subsequent sale on heritage a few days later didnt even achieve half of that. -J.
  14. Hard to disagree with this. If Usagi can get a series, I dont sher why Groo couldn't. At least a cartoon. He definitely has a fanbase and easily adaptable material. -J.
  15. Long time Groo fan here. Here is the "#1 Trifecta" from my PC. All look to be nice and minty after all these years. Oh, and I realized I didn't actually have a Destroyer Duck 1, you guys made me want to have to go and pull the trigger on the last 9.8 on eBay to round out the key issues. Thanks for that! Lol -J.
  16. This explains why there was a run on copies of this book (most notably in a 9.8) the last few days on Ebay. 🤣 -J.
  17. Oh my bad, he has only won a couple of SAG awards and "only" been nominated for a couple of golden globes and Emmys. Point is, he is a talented and experienced in this kind of film craft. And certainly a well pedigreed film does not automatically result in quality, but then again, as I said in my post, Sony isnt going for super serious "high art" or "messaging" here, and from the cast and crew the they've put together all with past experience in this wheelhouse, they seem once again poised to deliver the goods on what made the first one a hit. -J.
  18. My thoughts exactly. Aren't both leads Oscar nominees/winners? The new director definitely has an Oscar. People complaining about the same kind of nonsense that made the first movie an $850MM earner make me . Sony has obviously kept that element, but carnage looks way more badass than Riot already. -J.
  19. Definitely excited for this one. I liked this first teaser better than I did the first teaser for the first movie. Carnage already looks spot on, even with the less than polished CGI. Will definitely catch this in the theater. -J.
