  1. Good lord man, how have you managed to track down so many multiples of some of these books ? (ASM 667, Spawn 185, UXM 510) -J.

  3. Hmm yeah. And people said the same thing about the Bats 608RRP, what, 15 years ago? And even about the ASM 667 Dell'otto five years ago when it was "only" a $2500 book. And yet here we are.... I suppose you think if you keep making wrong-headed "predictions" and moving the goal posts and time frames that if you ever do actually end up being "right" about something you can tell people "I told you so". Believing that no books from this variant age of comics would (or should) inevitably rise to the top is just plain silly. See you in 2024 lol. -J.
  4. Maybe, just maybe.... some people in this hobby play in deeper waters than you stow aways from the copper age forums. -J.
  5. Kindly point to a sale to justify the bolded comment. Also, please list the "dozens" of 1 of 1 published Spider-Man comics while you're at it. Also, whether you realize it or not, you continue to demonstrate how you don't get it. Which is fine. I don't get the pump and dump in the copper age forum for common as mud drek either. Collect what you love. -J.
  6. Distinction without a difference. Just like I won't ever get why somebody would ever believe any common as mud cooper age book with a barcode on it is "rare" or should go for anything resembling a "premium", no matter how insignificant, inconsistent or unprovable that actually is, you will never get this. I get it. -J.
  7. Actually the book (coincidentally/ironically) on the top of that pile would be the Bats 608RRP. The first "modern variant" to bother people like you so much, and, incidentally, has been surging again as of late. -J.
  8. I know at least one other guy who has had 2, 9.8, Dell'otto 667's. -J.
  9. Awesome collection. That spawn 185 sketch is particularly drool-worthy. -J.
  10. I appreciate the kind words. Glad that some people could find some use in the info. It has always been a labour for the hobby and this particular niche in particular. -J.
  11. Very nice display. Some of the best of the bunch right there. 4 of 6 of those have made the cut since the beginning and ranked on every update. Loving that Dell'otto 667 especially. Four years already? Boy does time fly. May have to update this thing soon. -J.
  12. Hey man, sorry about the other day. I've always been cool with you. -J.
  13. Can this even be legit ? ASM VenoMJ original art asking for $50k... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-man-678-variant-cover-original-art-Joe-Quinones/233519107196?hash=item365ed2cc7c:g:i~YAAOSwhMFeZOkF -J.
  14. Speaking of 33, the nice looking 2.0 ends today... https://www.ebay.com/itm/DETECTIVE-Comics-33-CGC-2-0-DC-4th-Batman-cover-Origin-of-Batman-1939/324121436448?hash=item4b7724a120:g:bMkAAOSw8wheg7Fl -J.
  15. Thanks for the shout out! But most of my knowledge was cribbed from @awe4one and his amazing research on the subject. But yes, the NDS inserts are quite a bit more rare than the MJ's, mainly because, they were only used in books for a few years, whereas MJ's were used for a couple of decades. Also the NDS' predate the MJ's. If I'm not mistaken I also think many, if not most of the NDS' books were sold at bases overseas, which may have a lot to do with why they appear quite sparse in higher grades (8.5+). Oh and here is my best owned example with one, by far (complete with star stamp over the "55") -J.
  16. Mmmm that is a nice copy. At this point it's very unusual to still see a sweet looking raw copy of one of those. Congrats ! -J.
  17. I know. I still didn't like it. Sometimes (usually) things done in books do not necessarily translate to well or effectively to the screen. -J.
  18. Ugh. And I am of the opinion that the point where this show went awry is A) The introduction of the supernatural elements, and B) the introduction of the Holly character. Although the finale did redeem both concepts to a certain extent, I agree with the other reviewer above who states that the destination wasn't worth the journey. (And for me the similarities to "It" were also too distracting and annoying.) -J.
  19. Nice grab! You da man. Times two! Welcome (back) to the club! -J.
  20. People were saying that 5 years ago about this book. People were saying that 10+ years ago about Batman 608RRP. And yet here we are. After 15 years of variants like those being produced during this Age of comics, it should surprise no one that a certain cream would rise to the top. More recently - A book that was handed out at a convention and already has several hundred copies graded on the census in a manner of months with Mickey mouse on the cover is going for $1k. Why? Why not. People like Mickey mouse. Incidentally, last I knew, Vincent at metro owned the OA of the Dell'otto 667, and he wanted $25k for it. And that was 2-3 years ago when the last 9.8 slab of this book sold publicly for $10k. Only one person can own an OA piece. Only about 200 can own this comic. But their values are not relatively correlated however, because they are two different markets with different pricing/demand models. -J.
  21. Apples and oranges. Do you know who owns the OA? -J.
