  1. I refer you back to the moral of the story. -J.
  2. Of course it did then. Just like it does now. -J.
  3. There's been several recent strong sales on eBay and Heritage that I'm surprised no one has mentioned.... -J.
  4. It is absolutely relevant. Because there are certain people who swore up and down that Marvel would "NEVER" allow such a small amount of copies to be printed even then. And that was a LIE. Moral of story- Marvel can and will and does allow micro print runs if and whenever they want to. -J.
  5. For ASM 666 retailers were allowed to order as few as 500 copies of their store variant. -J.
  6. I linked this list a few pages back. This is an "all-in" top modern variant list up to 100: https://www.sellmycomicbooks.com/variant-comics.html I like to keep this list tight with a fairly strict methodology so that it really does represent a top of the top variants, the blue chippers of the age, if you will. By applying the same set of standards, I feel we really can see what is the best of the best, and it tends to eliminate the outliers. I do agree that the chirping about the methodology is somewhat grating at times. Although it seems simple, I actually spent more time compiling the "rules" for the list than I did the books to put on it (that was the easy part). But as they say, you can't please all of the people all of the time. -J.
  7. I love getting feedback on this list. I have changed and updated the it multiple times based on boardie comments/suggestions. Come to think of it, this thing actually is due an update soon. -J.
  8. I was very specific as to what was considered and why on the first page of this thread. That initial criteria has remained unchanged. -J.
  9. Are you deliberately misconstruing what I'm saying? That German book is not on the list because it is a foreign reprint. -J.
  10. Lack of overall availability is a major reason why many if not most of these sell for what they do. -J.
  11. No, I don't contradict myself. All label types are considered when I rank these things. -J.
  12. Foreign/reprint books aren't considered for this list. Also, it doesn't regularly sell for enough (last sale on Jan. 15 for $1325) where it wouldn't make the cut even if it was considered. -j.
  13. Yeah they reprint well selling noveau-classic modern covers all the time and it hasn't affected any adversely that I know of yet. In fact, it seems to often cause price spike as people realize there's an original and try to chase it. -J.
  14. There's just not enough details yet. It could be some 300 origin then leading into the LP storyline. Either way Spider-Man is a significant part of that storyline so I'm not sorry to hear he's going to be in It, even if it's just a little. -J.
  15. Anyone who didn't see this coming from a thousand miles away ? https://plus.google.com/amp/comicbook.com/marvel/amp/2018/01/16/tom-holland-spider-man-in-venom-movie-sony/ -J.
  16. Looks like eBay completely *poofed* the listing for this counterfeit ASM 667 Dell'otto. -J.
  17. This is not true. The "damage" is done when the tape is applied. And over time, the tape can actually simply turn brittle and fall off, often leaving a brownish stain where the adhesive was. -J.
  18. Very nice. His stuff looks so awesome virgin. More like legit works of art/prints than just comic books. -J.
  19. Well from where I'm sitting he just compared an absurdist cartoon book that hasn't been relevant and that virtually nobody has cared about for at least twenty years to one of the rarest copies of ASM ever printed. But either way, great- We are agreed that it was a ridiculous false equivalency. -J.
