I would be surprised if the next 9.6 that came up went for less than $15k actually. Those don't come up for sale much either and the 9.8 present in the sae auction certainly stole a lot of its thunder. The "PQ" on the label was a non-factor. -J.

Definitely. The pronounced rat chew through the entire book definitely skews the results, but Blue Cap 1's aren't seen on the open market much so it still made a nice little run. Also, I saw the book hit the reserve several days ago. -J.

"They've heard" being the operative phrase. Still sounds like a rumour (speculation) to me. Like I said we don't know how (or if) this ties into Infinity Wars. Parker showing up for a scene in Venom may very well be a consummation of something that is seen in Infinity Wars (which was the basis of my speculation). For all we know that scene in Venom could be LIFE Foundation extracting the symbiote from him. Or not. We don't know and I don't expect Marvel or Sony to spill the beans this early, though it is imminently encouraging that it is looking like this will indeed tie to the MCU. We just don't how yet. But speculation based on 1 minute teasers and rumours should be fun for the next eight months. -J.

Yay, speculating is fun! So here's mine: This movie is coming out after Infinity Wars and Spider-Man is in that. It's looking increasingly likely that this movie WILL tie into the MCU. Spidey encounters the symbiote at some point in Infinity Wars, promptly gets rid of it and it attaches itself to the spacecraft that we see crashed in the Venom teaser. The symbiote is discovered and seized by LIFE Foundation which is doing research on human tissue/limb regeneration, etc. and things get out of hand from there. This would be a combo origin of three different versions of the Venom symbiote. Easy peasy. -J.

What, specifically, in that 1 minute, 15 second teaser screamed "turd" in your opinion ? -J.

That's going to be a pretty significant reveal, I'm not surprised at all they didn't blow their wad so far in advance. Somebody pointed it out to me, I didn't even notice it at first, but when Brock is laying on the MRI at the end, squirming and screaming, you can see, for one split second, the symbiote going up the veins in his neck before they cut to black and show the Venom face and the title logo. Pretty sweet. -J.

Interesting. My friend's 7 year old knew exactly what the teaser was for and loved it. Incidentally, 14MM views of it on YouTube, same amount as Trailer 3 for Homecoming. -J.

This particular book though isn't a publisher ratio it is a store(s) "exclusive". Agreed that there are very few variants that take people by surprise in this hyper speculative market though. I can maybe think of two or three from the last couple yeas that kinda did. -J.

Interesting. I've seen some epically obscene, vulgar and angry posts by RMA that are very reminiscent of this guy on other boards. And I could give some convoluted speech about spelling/syntax/context and content clues, and provide a bunch of links as evidence, but I won't. Instead I'll just call it a hunch and leave it at that. -J.

I personally believe he was fired as well and the fact that you will never see him helming another DC movie again is prima facie proof of that. I was hearing about the unwatchability of his first cut long before he was fired/"left to grieve". -J.

So it looks like a spaceship crashes to Earth, and the symbiote is attached to it and its harvested by LIFE foundation and studied. The movie is still what, eight months away, but I totally dig this teaser, movie looks like the parties involved are putting together something unique and special for the genre. Totally pumped to see this (and got a little bit of nerd-wood seeing the Venom symbiote in the tube with the white-coated scientists standing behind it, definitely a major Lethal Protector vibe). -J.
