Makes sense. They did email a couple of days ago and said they are working on an answer for me. Usually when they do revamp it drops my point total. A bunch.

I emailed the registry about this shortly after this journal posting but so far no response. I'll let you know what they say when they do.

Just got two CGC books from two different dealers. I'll mention the first one Colorado Comics as they used painter's tape and there was no problem. The second one from a large East coast dealer used standard wide shipping tape and needless to say the outer bag was destroyed in the unwrapping. Another large dealer from Texas does the same on raw and CGC books. I wrote them a few years ago but it had no effect.

Yes, my wife asked about the sword and I did a quick history of the Odin sword.

I actually still want the 9.4 but there are 2 9.4's on Ebay right now and a 9.6. Worldwide has a raw nm Savannah pedigree on there site.

Yes, it was old label.

Lone Star aka My Comic Shop has not let me down yet. Nor has Mile High. If you look on dealers websites often the strict graders have very few Near Mint or better comics listed. Some shops and dealers are the same way. You look through their stock and their Fine or very fines would be near mint/mint in someone else’s box. John Haines of Comics and Friends near Cleveland is one such dealer. Mile High too .

As a very long time Thor collector you are right about 185, and 186 is not much easier in high grade.

Yes they did.

That's quite the custom set you have going. You are a patient collector and I expect you will succeed in your quest. Best wishes.

It's a shame the younger generation has no idea who Jerry Lewis was. I am the oldest person at my work and often ask my 20 and 30 year old co-workers if they know who Bob Hope was or others and its always the same response no, but they do get on their phones to look up whom I'm referring to.

You are correct sir. It should be normal not the new abnormal.

The only con I remember going to way back then in Columbus was at the Lincoln Levque tower. Not sure what it was called though. Only was there one time.

Sometimes it can be a determined bidder on auction web sites that will run items up. A recent example was on some high grade CGC graded Twilight Zone comics. I bid on 12 issues and was number 2 bidder on 11 of them. I only won issue 2 which was an 8.5 for 51 dollars. It was the lowest graded copy. Most were 9.6 and 9.8's. I bid in the upper $400's on a number of 9.8's and still lost. This person was willing to spend more than I was. Could have gone higher but that same money on silver age Marvels would benefit my collection a lot more.
Speaking of silver age Marvels I found two titles that were a bargain compared to other Marvels and were buying those for a few years but now the jig is up and I have moved on to other bargains. If you search you can still find good books for decent money.

Tnerb,
It's good to see you back. I would say wait one more day since you have already been waiting.
-
David,
A few years back I posted similar questions and the majority of my fellow collectors thought I should have sent in some pedigree comics I own. I ended up picking what would help my set completion and value comics. The pedigrees are mainly titles I could never finish due to length of runs. You'll do what's right for you.

The seller said he insured the book but getting reimbursed would be difficult I bet. I just bought some books on Comiclink and checked the UPS box instead of the Fedex box because of what happened. I wonder if that shop owner recovered any money spent?

The last picture is so sad. I think all of us have fond memories of the shops we knew in our youth. My "Home Shop " The Bookery Fairborn ,Ohio since the eighties is still going strong but the owner mentioned last year when he retires he does not think that there is going to be a buyer when he calls it quits .
Marvel Multi-Pack set scoring.
in This is the best I can do. (At least for now)

The rep said the Registry team would get back with me, so far they have not. I emailed the rep again but no response. It's been a while now.
