  1. Problem is I love Silver Age books too much (just picked up an Avengers 4 and Superboy 68) - and need to add a Daredevil 1, Avengers 1, Brave and Bold 28, Action Comics 242, Adventure Comics 247 and the list goes on - point being too many books, too little cash hahahahahahaha But I do love the scarcity and the hunting required for Golden Age books especially versus Marvel Silver Age (where all you need is the $$$ - although that is also why I love collecting early DC Silver Age because they are tougher to track down)
  2. Nah - I will stick to golden age DC (dream obtainable book being an Action 23 and More Fun 101) and Timely Cap stuff .......... but I do like the looks of some Planets (it begins .......)
  3. Make an offer on either set - would like to move these to clear up space.
  4. I have already decided my next Golden Age book will be a Superman 53 (to complete an origin set ) and then I would really like a Schomburg Cap War cover - I am leaning towards Captain America Comics 47 (although would love a 37 as well)
  5. Further Reduction: (1) Take the Aliens Set for $40 shipped (in continental USA or Canada) (2) Take the GI Joe set for $50 shipped (in continental USA or Canada)
  6. Discount time - Free Shipping on either lot to Canada or Continental US!
  7. Hahahahaha I know - at a minimum it screams out for a Superman 53 to be added so I have a matching Superman Origin book (although obviously not the same as the 1st detailed origin) Thanks - it has already become one of my three favourite books in my collection (the other two being my X-Men 1 and Showcase 22)
  8. I finally bought my first Golden Age book - I wanted it to be something special and either a Batman or Superman book And since I will never own the first appearance I decided I would target the first detailed origin of Batman Been looking for a low grade copy that presents well for quite some time - so I was pumped to add this book to my collection: However I feel like it may be a gateway book - as I already have plans to add a Batman 16 and 20 as well as Superman 53, 61 and maybe some Tecs and Actions - not to mention some Timely Captain America Schomburg war covers ........ blargh I knew I shouldn't have dipped my toe in this market.
  9. Hello all, been lurking/posting/buying for awhile on the boards and have started selling. I have purchased quite a few books from established boardies so if you need any references just let me know and or check out my kudos thread here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9184022#Post9184022 Some rules and general information: 1) trumps any PMs or ongoing negotiations. 2) Shipping - I am located in Canada and everything will ship from here. I package very well and this book will be boxed and packed with extreme care. Shipping will only be to Canada or the continental U.S. Shipping will cost $10.00 (it will be more than this but I will cover it) unless stated otherwise 3) Acceptable forms of payment: Paypal only here. 4) No HOSers or problem children. Your $$ is no good here. I also reserve the right not to sell to someone on my personal do not sell to list. It would help if the buyer is a member with solid feedback on the boards (PM me to discuss if you have little or no feedback please). 5) All prices in $USD. 6) All Toys are in played with condition (I will make specific notes where possible). 7) No returns . 8) If you need more photos I am happy to accommodate - just let me know (sorry for the glare - I don't have a scanner ) 9) Feel free to PM me offers or questions. Set 0f 10 Aliens figures (6 Marines + 4 Aliens including the Queen) - Includes accessories pictured + Cards (cut out from boxes) + Mini Comics No. 1-8 - PRICE = $60.00 $50.00 and now with FREE Shipping! Set of 21 G.I. Joes - All in Played with condition - joints are pretty good - although some are loose at the hips/legs - no accessories - PRICE = $60.00 (less than $3 per Joe) $55.00 and now with FREE Shipping!
  10. While I was cleaning I also came across these GI Joes that I will also likely sell - they are in decent shape but some of them are a little loose in the legs/hips. There are no accessories. Just wondering what a tough idea of value would be:
  11. Doing a purge and clean and came across these Aliens Figures with cards and the mini comics that came with them - going to sell them kids wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to Value:
  12. If a 6.0 just did $2,500 on Ebay that would be $700 below the sale in October of $3,217 - while an isolated sale, it would be further info to support a plateau and maybe slight retreat. I do not expect the book to plummet by any means I just think it is due for a 10% or so correction in the short term (which would still put it at a huge price run-up relative to prices a year ago)
  13. Ya I can't explain it - but it just does not feel like a comic book movie to me (although it is a great movie - I wouldn't put it on my list for this reason) same with road to perdition. Oddly I do see 300 and certainly Sin City as comic book movies.
  14. It seems like the book is plateauing and decreasing a bit in grades 7.0 - 4.0 based on October sales versus 90 day trends: 7.0 - 90 day= $3,366 last sale = $3,128 (October) 6.5 - 90 day = $2,957 last sale = $3,200 (September) - this sale is interesting as it is in September and (if valid) was likley based on the idea of I must pay $XXXX over last GPA 6.0 - 90 day = $2,746 last sale = $3,217 (October) - I would be interested to know if this happened before or after the 7.0 October sale 5.5 - 90 day = $2,562 last sale = $2,550 (October) 5.0 - 90 day = $2,325 last sale = $2,400 (October) 4.5 - 90 day = $2,194 last sale = $1,900 (October) 4.0 - 90 day = $2,217 last sale = $2,091 (October) There are a couple of outliers above - but it looks like the jumps of $200-300 over last GPA are disappearing (at least in October) - could just be the season, could be it leveling off. I still love the sellers that quote GPA, then sell on a fee free platform and ask for full GPA + $200-300 more (with it already avoiding the 7-10% fee that most GPA sales have baked in). BUT if you can get why wouldn't you I guess/people can ask what they want. I don't think the prices will decline massively - but I expect a cooling off and maybe slight dip (which we may be in the middle of in the mid grades)
  15. Oh I have seen it and think it is a great movie - I just do not really consider it a comic book movie (yes I am aware of the graphic novel) but it is a great movie with superb acting.
  16. I will try with a digital copy - just not sure if overstreet needs original scans/photos (although I am not sure why they would)
  17. Not to bump my old thread - but I am bit bored - so does anyone have an action 27 that can send some photo evidence of the interior and I will try to get it corrected with overstreet
  18. Ok I will play and try to rank in order: The Dark Knight Avengers: Infinity War Iron Man Batman (1989) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Avengers Man of Steel Watchmen Logan Captain America: The Winter Soldier A couple of notes: - The Dark Knight is by far the best (the acting from Heath Ledger is amazing) - in fact I wanted to include the entire trilogy as Batman Begins and Dark Knight Rises would be my #11 and #12 - Batman (1989) and TMNT (1990) are sentimental choices (as I was a kid) - but I still think they are great - I could interchange #6 through #8 without much problem - I decided that Star Trek and Star Wars should be excluded from a Comic Book movie List as should Aliens and Predator (otherwise the list would be different as Aliens 2 would be very high on that list)
  19. Will also consider a trade for a Vengeance of Bane 1 CGC 9.8 White Pages (1st print) or an Omega Men 3 CGC 9.8 White Pages
  20. Closing this down tomorrow and sending off to CGC for a re-labeling - Make me an offer via PM if you are interested.
  21. Hello all, been lurking/posting/buying for awhile on the boards and I have purchased/sold a few books thus far so if you need any references just let me know and or check out my kudos thread here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9184022#Post9184022 Some rules and general information: 1) trumps any PMs or ongoing negotiations. 2) Shipping - I am located in Canada and everything will ship from here. Shipping will only be to Canada or the continental U.S. Shipping will cost $12.00 (it will be more than this but I will cover it) 3) Acceptable forms of payment: Paypal only here. 4) No HOSers or problem children. Your $$ is no good here. I also reserve the right not to sell to someone on my personal do not sell to list. It would help if the buyer is a member with solid feedback on the boards (PM me to discuss if you have little or no feedback please). 5) All prices in $USD. 6) CGC case is in great shape - see note below regarding re-labeling 7) No returns on CGC books - unless I missed something. 8) If you need more photos I am happy to accommodate - just let me know (sorry for the glare - I don't have a scanner ) 9) Feel free to PM me offers or questions. Batman 497 in CGC 9.8 is quite rare as a newsstand and fetches far more than the regular direct edition (i.e., GPA for the newsstand 9.8 is currently at $260 with the last sale coming in late August and there is a copy on Ebay for $350 right now). Please note that this copy has been labelled as a SECOND PRINTING however, as you can see it is indeed a first print newsstand as the second print has a yellow background in the Batman logo (as opposed to white on the 1st print) and the second print has a roman numeral II in the upper left hand box (which this copy does not) - Furthermore, I have confirmed it is a First Print and label error with CGC who have agreed to re-holder the book properly free of charge - however, I thought I would see if a boardie here wanted to purchase as is and complete the re-holdering process themselves (with a discount on the book for the trouble). If it doesn't sell by Thursday AM I will take it down and ship to CGC for re-holdering. With all of that being said: Batman 497 CGC 9.8 White Pages - NEWSSTAND COPY - FIRST PRINT (to be re-holdered by CGC) - Asking Price = $225.00 USD
  22. Thanks for the info - you are correct that the guns and armor pieces are missing on the Scorponok But good to know/have a value estimate and crazy that the Headmaster is the real value - thanks again to everyone for the insight. I will get the figures cleaned up and try to sell it all (just to put money into the comic buying fund of course ).
