The bids I had to cancel were from today, 5 days after the description was added to. I added that additional text as bidders went crazy on the first day of the listing and I really wanted to make sue they knew what they were getting in to

I wrote this: Hi up for grabs is a great classic cover, incredible hulk 340 graded cgc 9.6. This is the classic Wolverine McFarlane Cover. This book just arrived this afternoon. I took a bunch of pictures so you can see the grade up close, notably the front right corner. Please look at all the pictures so you will know exactly what you are buying. Case is free of cracks. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On Jun-04-20 at 18:29:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a reminder. Please look at all the pictures for the condition of the book. The flaws are visible so don’t act surprised when the book arrives. It’s all there to see. If you are okay with all of that, continue to bid, otherwise this book may not be for you. Again look at the pictures and assess the book’s condition from them

I had a book that was ending today a hulk 340 graded 9.6 cgc, though it was unlikely to be that grade due to the overhang bend now on the front cover that happened sometime during grading. anyway I made it very clear to see the defects in the listing and bid accordingly. A bidder went way up on it, sent me a message then that they only looked at the pictures and descriptions after bidding and didn’t want the book. They canceled a single bid but not all of them so I had to manually cancel the bid and put them on my blocked list comicbookinvestor don’t bid blindly without LOOKING and READING first

Would you open this sealed Spider-Man comic?
oldbsturgeon replied to XxSpideyxX's topic in Comics General
I think it’s pretty cool as it is -
I was 7 when this would have been available but I wasn’t really aware of mall culture as I imagine the giant 80s malls. ours which is still around is single level and I rarely went, instead going to stores like kmart/hills/hecks/ames instead. superheroes weren’t on my radar then much either. I doubt I would have wanted it then

I saw this online just now and was wanting to see what people think about the grade on this. these are the pictures from the seller so I don’t have any other pictures
-
I was kind of surprised this arrived today. I had submitted through a dealer for pressing and grading so had no clue where it was in the grading process. Anyway it came back a 9.6 but there is an overhang bend on the front right corner. I wasn’t going to keep it anyway and it’s currently on eBay as an auction

If I wait until July I can potentially get an even higher graded copy -

Okay so I changed my mind already and am going to try and get one -
I sent a message to the store I mentioned previously via the Facebook page. Despite WV being allowed to open businesses now for a few weeks, that store remains closed. I don’t know what is going on with it.

Oh it wasn’t really an issue of needing the funds to pay bills or not be able to. I am actually in a fairly good spot especially working from home right now, but just decided to pay bills with that money instead of my paycheck -

While it’s pure speculation I am using 5/18 as an estimate as to when it arrived. That would account for a longer than initially expected shipping out, slow shipping and slow entering into cgc. That would make tomorrow 11 business days.

From what I understand yes, though it appears I have annoyed the dealer by asking the status so much. He, elitecomics11, told me he would let me know once the grades are available. Since I have never had a book graded I don’t know the normal process of anything.
-
My 2 modern fast tracks I mailed out on 5/6 don’t appear to be graded yet. The provider I sent them through for pressing first said I would get a notice once the grades are in. Still waiting

Hulk 33 was a pretty cool read. Now I have no real idea what will be happening next due to the last page reveal

Is 'tec 880 the most expensive non key/variant modern?
oldbsturgeon replied to cortown71's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
And now it’s been delivered to matt from lake geneva Wisconsin. -
From what I can tell the store I would go to comic world in Huntington WV is not open despite being allowed to in our state. when I go in to work on Tuesday I will check but I just don’t believe it is. For those that saw the pics it’s the same store that has been open since 1980

Back to the statement of instagram sales hitting huge prices, I was watching the live sale with elitecomics11 and Jeff the goldenageguru sell books last night. Jeff put up a TMNT 1 first print 9.4 for 14500 and it sold with an offer of 13750. so I just checked go collect and that is like over 3k of the listed fmv for the grade. instagram sales, especially those from big sellers are on fire

This isn’t really something new, it’s been happening for years and probably daily. when an item is an auction you can have a buy it now attached to the item but the bid will make the BIN go away. What sometimes happens is the bidding exceeds the BIN price. As an outsider, I always think people aren’t looking carefully enough. As the seller, and in this example is seeing it happen, I wonder why entices the bidders more than a BIN price? the thought an item will go under the radar and sell cheap. I had the book listed as a fixed price listing and kept lowering the price. Finally I decided to list it auction and in less than 24 hours was higher than the BIN price. I mean I’ll take it but it could have been had for cheaper the day before -

I just had a request for a cancellation on a graded book. In the description I wrote “the cgc case presents with newton rings so if that bothers you, then this may not be for you.” the book sold, but I got a message a few hours later stating they looked up newton rings after buying (not before) and decided they didn’t like them. Fortunately no payment was made yet, or even worse, shipped out. -
