  1. So something US people should do: go to usps and sign up for informed delivery. No longer will you wonder about tracking numbers not being provided. Once your address is on record, parcels going to you automatically show up. also you can sign up for e signature and never have to sign for a package in person again
  2. Got some more Wrightson covers in today. It’s his first and last house of mystery works
  3. I read it’s different in that the label may indicate the code sticker is gone but would still be universal and not qualified. now how this error with no code at all would be handled is something I don’t know at all
  4. So I have the complete series currently but I guess I don’t really understand why immortal hulk 2 is as valuable as it is. Sure I realize it’s a first appearance for a character but does that character even matter though? same for the venom and thor craze. Do those characters actually matter?
  5. so in my case, I only buy one book new off the shelf, immortal hulk. I have my mylite2s for it, but since I am only getting one series a month, it's been a relatively cheap to b/b them in the gerber products. if I were buying lots of stuff, I would tend to agree it would be not ideal or cost effective. i also use them on my older stuff, but I too am only buying a few things. bottom line, if you are buying very little it's not a big deal to use the better b/b combo
  6. This was the exact reason I avoided the books and the films until last year. All these kids walking around thinking they’re cool calling you a muggle. That scene of kids obsessed with HP made me hard nope it for 20 years
  7. I bet the book had that crease on the back and was submitted as is
  8. I‘ve already owned one before so don’t need to buy another. Thanks for letting me know though
  9. Yeah if they’re for sale that’s fine but hoarding like that makes it tougher for people to buy. A few years ago I met a guy at a local show that in 2016 had about 40 copies but had no intention to sell them and said something like he’d rarher be buried with his things than for someone else to have them.
  10. Yeah I was able to bubble wrap it. I discovered it because I was waiting on 1095s to come in the mail and went looking for priority boxes. My large PO had the 1097s and 1092s in stock so grabbed a bunch to try it out. It worked too
  11. Some are great true though there are less that are say compared to comic covers. but you’re also right that people attach the nostalgia of their youth to things like video games and want them. Bam...the graded game market is born
  12. It’s probably overkill but I discovered the 1097 fits a graded book and fits inside the 1092. that means you can triple box a book for ultra secure packaging. Earlier this year I sent one book out this way as there wasn’t a price difference since the additional weight was negligible
  13. Graded games are interesting to me. They are similar to comics in that both contain material within that was meant to be consumed (reading or playing). The difference for me is the art of say video game covers, especially older games like NES carts, is not nearly as dynamic as most comic covers. while artists are used for game boxes, the comic is primarily about the art as part of the story. It’s really I guess more about a speculative thing than anything else.
  14. Earlier this year I signed up for a program that allows me to apply a premade E sig on the website prior to the package arriving. It’s a subset of the informed delivery option. I don’t miss mail now.
  15. well the big one that sold several years ago was actually cheaper for everyone as the cut was much smaller as there is a cap on seller fees and of course no buyer premium. While not thought of as the premier site for the big auctions, it was a smart move to go there I think.
  16. I realize this isn’t exactly what was meant by Marvel Whitmans but this was published by them in 68 and the art was done by Herb Trempe
  17. I don’t have a good picture at this time but I have a nice vf of house of mystery arriving soon. There is a seller I have been buying all his stuff as the grading has been good and the price even better
  18. It’s not a new thing really. Popular characters appear in multiple books. For instance Batman was already regularly in 4 titles I know of by the 60s. and in the 90s Wolverine seemed part of every marvel book being released
  19. know, he canno't chage the speling, its' two dificult too due.
  20. I always wondered if you put a board in the middle of a book, if there was too much pressure on it say from a box being too full, would it leave an indention on the covers and pages it was touching?
  21. I don’t know if the show that was canceled had any bearing on the price, but it would be interesting to see if swamp thing is going to be part of justice league dark when it finally comes out.
  22. 35 just came out today. Was a nice calm issue and was mostly filler save for the last 2 pages. it was funny the very first page says “previously in immortal hulk” like it was some tv show
  23. That lower zipper would be very precarious I suspect to close properly. One slip and it’s a grip on the lip
