  3. This right here!!! Especially if you are looking at moderns - where 9.8 is the target, Being new - you WILL have culture shock with ( at least) - the first submission. I would actually send in 15 to start - no prescreen. This will give you some indication of how good you are at picking the minimum grade you want and visual references for those that do not.
  4. Hey - might also want to list your general location - your best bet might be to a local boardie. ( or a couple that might buy and split up after the fact) - chuck will ill probably buy and haul away- but locals do now worry about transporting several states over -
  5. not only that --- guy just sold a yogi berra baseball card...... several thousand dollars of sales in the last month..... yet claims poverty.......
  6. so - do NOT skimp on the packaging - one cracked slab can cost you more than a box of bubble-wrap..... flat rate will always be expensive - you can order boxes online from USPS for free - they have a large one that is similar in size to the medium box - "1095" get a postal scale to confirm - but you can ship a slab for the priority 2lb rate for ~ $7.... add in another $2-3 for packaging ( cardboard chippers, bubble wrap) For the other shipping items ( like bubble wrap) ---- buy in bulk to keep costs down
  7. completed a five book GA purchase - smooth process all around

  15. some of my faves... I am an "old school" fan - and my kids love the new ones. My daughter and I go to a local con every year - hanging on a wall somewhere - is one from the 50th anniversary - when they had three doctors there ( Baker, Davidson, McGann) --- and we got a picture together with sigs... The individuals - I try and get them to add in some quote from the show - pictures are through the frame and glass - so a little grainy.....
  16. I've got a 50th Anniversary one with more recent Companions and a Doctor. It is packed and ready to go out again should a few people make some appearances. Yeah I am border line on this one if I want the other Doctors to sign this poster or just leave it alone I don't think I would! I love it as is. I would leave it - part of the charm is the fact that the sigs match the poster and event. Obviously cannot get Mary Tamm anymore - but that would be the only one worthwhile to add (to me) ..... .
  17. ---- stand corrected on photoscan for slabs- I do think a good scanner will give you the best image - this looks to be more than useful enough for decent slab pics ( more than enough for selling) - The SW ----- works quick - you can frame in and take an image of a full slab. No practice at all and not really framed great ( would also look better with a solid background) --- I would probably not use it for raws - but slabs might be worthwhile......
  18. From S-Man ----- mystrey box 'o' autographs...... the UXM - has a dynamic forces COA..... u rock Scott - THANKS!!!!!
  19. I can use that type of help as well. I'm looking into some modern CCD scanners. Epson makes some, but I'm hesitant to buy without trying. I'm thinking about giving this one a shot. I like the 11x17 size. I was close to pulling the trigger on the A320 --- my old HP is making a lot of "bad" noises..... Like others, I am hesitant as there is no local source where I can try and potentially return if not up to snuff. The only relevant comment I found (was on a review site so I do not know how real the concern is) --- but someone was talking about how this scanner was not the best with "depth" - and this is very important for slabs, .... 11 x 17 is an awesome size point- I have an 11 x 17 for raws - can do 2 at a time and quick to edit down if you have the right software ( I use camera raw from adobe)
