So are we all in agreement after the Goldin auction that Marvel #1 is not ahead of Superman #1 YES YES YES
I have had your wall around the same time many times wish i kept them Fantsy 15 was only 200-400-600 Spiderman 1 was 100-200-300 and i had lots of DD 1's but they where 90 bucks top guide and you had to give them away. Ps that Sup 1 was high grade easy 8.0 plus I think Dave (Dentist ) got that from me not 100% tho. I guess back in 1981 high grade was all over. The 27 is my current copy that in got from E Gerber this pic is before Resto.
Yeah Im at a loss. Not sure who is the #3. MC 1 or Supes 1. I wouldn't be surprised if a MC 1 1.0 went for 150k Any recent data to contradict that ?

I think the bigger than Bats story here is the Supes 1 copy at 146k. Poor eye appeal. Crazy strong price for any 1.0

Someone's resto collection up for grabs it seems
That tec 27 sure is pretty. The colors looks newsstand fresh and they pop. I'm wondering though if the interior lightening made the pages white? Was it brittle before that was done? I've always been against any type of re-glossing on the cover and interior lightening. That's just a step beyond the kind of restoration I'd like accept in my opinion especially for books heading into the pc.
For some reason I can't deal with reglossed cover or lightened pages. However, in this case I would make an exception

Heritage even has a Resto Pep 22 in the next auction. DANG

Heritage is eating CC and CL lunch every single month

Oh ok, why’s that?
In speaking with them they really don't understand those hobbies it seems to me. Maybe over time they will but it's too early to send anything to them without data. Also, Im not sure the eyes that follow Goldin are interested in comics (or investing in them).

Looks like the Batman 1 8.0 will break $1 mil, and that shouldn’t be a surprise lol. Seems like this auction house is mimicking Heritage as far as fees go. If I saw correctly, there’s a 20% buyers premium. Not sure what if any fee there is for selling. Low grade Supes 1 as well in the same auction. Has anyone here put anything up for sale yet with Golden? Curious how it went.
I wouldn't touch Goldin with a 10 foot poll for comics or video games or pop culture memorabilia at this stage in the game

Also in Collectibles like Trading Cards, Comic Art, Boxed Video Games condition is KING. With OCA condition is an afterthought. Thus no room for the alleged WATA / Haspel brand of nepotistic fix-is-in manipulation. Of course there is the OCA dealer merry-go-round
Anyone else read of manufactured unsealed boxes with this scandal ?

I need to wrap my head around this question- If the Church Marvel Comics #1 (call it a 9.8) or Allentown Captain America #1 (9.8, upgraded from 9.6) came up for sale today where would they rank against the Amazing Fantasy 15 CGC 9.6 that just sold?
Against one of the other three 9.6s, if one were to come up for sale?
My brain hurts.
Both would be ahead of any of the four AF 15's IMO

Maybe, but it has one unfixable flaw since day one. Its a Marvel 1!
I used to have Cap 1 over Marvel 1. Not today but I go back and forth

To me:
Church AC 1
Allentown Tec 27
9.2 Tec 27
9.0 Action !
9.0 Action !
8.5 Church Tec 27
Best Superman 1
and...
dentist Bat 1? CGC 9.4 is hard to beat. If it's a substantially better copy, then, yes.
Church Action 1 all day every day is number one for me as well. I totally agree with this list

On that 2.0? Can we talk about that a minute?
our collective shock and awe has so far been confined to a thread with “Heritage” in the title, so I think it appropriate we take the matter up here. I think everyone on this thread already values Bat 1 highly, but still.
$220k for a 2.0?
is this a bubble? Is this sustainable? What is the future for Bat 1?
Not all 2.0's are created equal as you know--this is one such 2.0. that being said Bats 1 is still on fire

Did anyone take note of Daredevil 7 9.0 in the Heritage auction yesterday??? It went for $8400!!!!
The last one sold for $2250 11 months ago.
An 8.5 went for $1650 a week ago. Whoever bought that 8.5 must feel pretty good right now.
Maybe the DD rumors for the new spider flick ??

Thanks I wanted a Green Goblin cover so this one fit the bill. I did bid healthy on all of them that did not have brittle pages, but others must have really wanted them as well.
If that was a comic connect auction it would have been the signature pieces with a lot more publicity, Outside of the AF 15 and the ASM 14 I thought the Ditko pieces pieces were next in line--also one of a kind

For me yes, but monetary wise, I think Supes 1 will outsell Bats 1 in any grade. Just harder to find than Bat 1 and first title given solely to a Superhero in a comic book. But I do love me some Joker in Bats 1
As census numbers pick up for Supes 1 (and they have over the last 5 years by quite a bit) I see the 2 getting closer and closer to each each other. Will be interesting to see where the 1.0 at Goldin ends up. Wasn't;t doing to well last I checked but there was a lot of time left (eye appeal wasn't the best )

Only time will tell. We need an unrestored that presents well to come to auction. 30 unrestored copies and 63 total… So rare. Also its book that is usually held for a long time. So we havent seen many come to market.
I think it of it as always as a 3rd place after AC1 and TEC27
With Submariner and maybe Torch the golden age being introduced to the MCU… And maybe a nod with someone reading an MC1 with Chris Evans seeing the exploits of these two
I've got Marvel 1 at #3 as well. Anyone move Bats 1 ahead of Supes 1 to the #4 spot ?
-
With the recent amateur restored copy sale of the 2.0 where does that put MC 1 in comparison to Bats 1 and the Big 2 ?? *(heck, SUpes 1 as well)
Marvel Comics 1
in Golden Age Comic Books

Damn. If a 1.0 Supes 1 that looked like that one went for 150k what would a Ten 27 or Action 1 1.o go for ? I'm guessing 200k is the basement
