  1. Is strangling a skeleton an effective way of winning a fight? Seriously, that's a real nice Hangman cover. Congrats!
  2. My thought exactly on the resto. Great pickup of the key of keys.
  3. Just sorting out your collecting goals into an easy to read list
  4. After seeing all these great covers, I must add an issue of Amazing-man to my want list. Just not sure which one yet
  5. Just an awesome collection ciorac. I think I see an Action Comics #9 in one of your stacks. What run of issues do you have from the Action Comics title? Also, what's your favorite book (or group of books) in your collection?
  6. Nice pickups on the Archie books. . Really cool books that you never see show up for sale. Congrats.
  7. That's a really nice recreation, as are many of the others in your CAF gallery. Love the Mystery Men #3
  8. A man dressed as a bird dropping "secret pellets" on boats. You have posted some really cool books in this thread Centaurman, most of which I have never seen. Keep it up
  9. Correct, but by day he was a mild mannered newspaper reporter. He hid his alter ego by wearing glasses.
  10. I think a Comiclink 5.0 blue label copy was bought for $12,000 a few months ago. I think this restored 8.0 copy was a great pickup at the price he paid
  11. Some of those Whiz covers are really nice and are underrated. I especially like the artwork on #18 with the train. Which issues were the hardest to find in your run? 500 POSTS
  12. Awesome collection skybolt. When I see all the great books in your collection, it makes me wonder why I don't collect GGA books. Anyway, the Supermans & Actions don't really fit in your collecting focus so I'll be happy to take them off your hands.
  13. Ok, so who just bought it? It now shows sale pending for $1,100?
  14. yes, I have become a follower of Nearmints teachings and ways,,.. I just hope he doesn't make me drink the cool-aid. You will soon have a overwhelming, almost uncontrollable desire to acquire high grade Nedors.
  15. This Nearmint philosophy you speak of... Is this some type of cult belief system of which you have become a member Seriously I agree with you, I could do without the green labels as well. I would like the Aciton 59 to be graded, factoring in all defects, given a blue label, and some grader notes about the centerfold on the label.
  16. I believe I've seen it listed at $1,300 before, but now it's back up to $1,500. So, maybe a $1,000 or $1,100 bid would take it. It certainly is a nice looking book.
  17. I believe if the book is otherwise high grade (like 7.0 or higher) CGC will give the book a Qualified label and not fator the detached centerfold into the grade. In other words, "a nice high grade book except for this ONE defect". A lower grade book with a detached centerfold will just factor that defect into the grade since there are undoubtedly several other defects present.
  18. Thanks Alton & Matt, you guys are the best!
  19. Very nice collection so far. Hey Matt, didn't you have your own thread going where you updated your Action collection as it grew? Seems like all the Action war cover collectors on this board have an Action 59 ...... except me
  20. Awesome Superman #1 Considering how many copies of Supes #1 were sold (over 1,000,000 I hear) it's amazing how few mid or high grade copies are out there.
  21. Very informative Point Five. Thanks for taking the time to put that timeline together. I've always liked some of the early Fox books but have never had the pleasure of owning one. The awesome Fine artwork definitely makes them stand out from the crowd. It doesn't get much better the the 2 issues already posted
  22. I'll happily trade one for Centaurs I'm looking for (see abbreviated want list below). When dealing with collectors of the very rarest books, I need currency they appreciate. Cash frequently doesn't cut it. Great, great group shot of books CentaurMan! I only wish I had a book or two in your want list to offer in trade for a Wonder Comics #1.
  23. Great books you have there Point Five. How low of grades are we talking on your early Actions? You certainly picked some of the best Superman covers for your collection. #19, 40, & 59 are all high on my want list. Nice Schomburg covers too.
