I just got a call back from CS -- they have someone dedicated to answering questions about this BS. He confirmed, "At this time there is no plan to waive the dealer fee for ANY dealers, regardless of what volume they submit." I gave him some very honest feedback about how this is being perceived in the dealer community, much of which has been said here. I told him, as a direct result of the changes (discount cut, 2 prices increases, and a $200 tax all in less than a year) I would be making adjustments in my submissions and it would most certainly result in a net-dollar decrease for CGC. It was a very poor and shortsighted business decision and I would be encouraging others to do the same. I asked him to pass that on to their leadership team (whom he said made the decision) and he said he would. It was a polite and professional call.
One thing I mentioned he was unaware of. He said, "This seems to not be an issue for many dealers because they are paying the fee." I told him it was more of a hostage situation because dealers who wanted to finish up existing business (I was going to enter an order yesterday morning) had to pay up right then. He said, "Really? This doesn't go into effect until February 18th." That was not what popped up when I logged in yesterday; all it said was UNLOCK ACCESS. At that point I assumed I could not start new orders.
Well, it appears this was a ham-handed rollout. The Dealer Portal now brings up the Benefits page, which was not the case yesterday morning; it now mentions Feb. 18th. He apologized for that and said he would pass that on. I did verify that my account was unlocked and I am able to begin new orders.
So as it stands now there is not consideration for a fee waiver. You pay up or you are done (his words were "lose certain benefits") on Feb. 18.
If this pisses you off as much as it does me give them a call and let them know. Be polite, be professional, but let them know what you are unhappy about and what you're going to do about it. Hopefully if there is enough feedback they will realize just how unappreciated this is.- Point Five, Complex306, Tony S and 7 others

I called CS this morning to ask WTF was going on. I was told, "That's part of the changes that have been made." When I asked if there was going to be a waiver based on volume I was told flat out, No!
After last year's 25% reduction in dealer discount coupled with the price increase, I adjusted my submissions accordingly, reducing submissions by about 30% and money-spent by about 25%. Now with the new price increase and the $200 "privilege of doing business with CGC" tax, I will be reducing that even more. In the end CGC will get less of my 2022 money, dollar-for-dollar, than they did in 2020. I hope others follow suit.
At this point CGC and CBCS seem to be fixated on who can one-up each other on the race to the bottom. It's certainly not a business model for growth.

So just did a submission of 136 books. I was rather dreading it but I have to say it was a great deal easier than my first few submissions a week ago. It is much more likely to bring up the book I am looking to submit. Sometimes it was in fact quicker than the old system
For books with a lot of potential matches, I still find it easier to input the title and then publication date. Those freaking moderns and all their reboots and variant covers easily overwhelm the "first 50" results displayed.
I had my first encounter with needing to input a book not in the database and found a problem. There does not appear to be a way to input a new comic with ONLY a year for publication. The system insists on month/year. The comic book I was adding only listed a year of publication in the indicia (Cannibal Romances #1 - 1986. Last Gasp) A fair number of books have been published that only list a year for the publication date. So unless I was doing something wrong, this should be added to the things needed tweaked.You should be getting paid to beta test this. Just sayin'

I have seen serious hydrogen peroxide burns. I burnt myself once using it to clean a wound. Serious.
3% HOOH will not burn you but if you go with higher concentrations you're asking for trouble on bare skin.

So then he’s selling alcohol. He would need a liquor license to sell it? What if I ate/drank immacuclean would I be poisoned? So if I go to the doctors and they say what did you take I’m gonna say immacuclean…
so wouldn’t the label have to disclose what chemicals are in it for it to be sold as a good for cleaning?
sounds like this guys got a law suit waiting to happen.
IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol
H2O2 = Hydrogen Peroxide

awesome!! That Hulk 340 is a hole in my collection
but seriously I like it, but never wanted to pony up the dough, a mark jewelers would be an Awesome Caveat to THAT!
I was curious as to how your able to find so many? Dallas area? I've picked a few, but you have the knack!
Congrats on the pick-ups!
Andy has a Hulk 340 he got the other day in a big Copper Age collection. That’s where I got the ASM and NM. In fact I picked up almost the entire Leifeld NM run.
MJIs turn up in the Dallas area because of Carswell and NAS. Folks moved in who were overseas and sell their collections. A lot of collections also in migrate from San Antonio where there were a lot more folks stationed overseas.
Ive been pretty lucky finding them. I bought a collection with about 800 BA ones. Over the years I would weed them out of boxes at shops and cons. I probably still have a couple hundred.

Update: the CGC QC goblin struck again. I did not get the New Mutants 97, shown above, back. However, I got SOMEONE ELSE’s MJ New Mutants 98. Let me know if you are missing a book because, hopefully, you will have my book and we can work something out. I will try my best to get this one back to whom it belongs….
The invoice number is not even the same. It should be easy for CGC to track down the submitter. Now let's hope it's as easy to locate your book.

@awe4one
It's certainly a good resource. If you don't want to keep hosting it on your end let me know. I can migrate and host it to my BoxOfComics domain. -

Your initial question was, "would pressing help this guy?", and the answer is yes (cleaning/pressing). Is it worth cleaning/pressing/slabbing/selling? IMO, no. It will most likely top out at 6.0. If you want to improve the appearance of the book, go for it. If you want to try to flip it, that's a lot of money and time for a little bit of return.

OMG, I used to own that copy on the left! It was in my collection for years. I sold it on eBay in about 2007 for $45.
I have 3 copies. One, a 1.8, was from a guy in South Texas 20 years ago or so. The 4.0 I believe I bought from Chuckles 15 years ago. It was priced just like the rest of the CSS books around it; $75 I think but certainly less than $150. I don't recall where I got the 2.5. I may have been the guy who bought it from you on eBay. I would have been around 2007.

Is CGC trying to lose their dealers as well?

Sprint had something similar in the late '90s. They had FON which was the overall company and they had PCS which was a tracking stock exclusively for the wireless sector. I'm not sure if or how PCS rolled up into FON.
