  1. Congratulations! Thanks for the hard work from the organizers
  2. Anyone know the story behind this? I bought it at the drug store back in the day. (Need an upgrade... Lol) the date says '72 in his signature. Sadly, not his work inside...
  3. One of the aspects of Wrightson's work I loved is the "flow" of it. Add to that the detail. Plus, the proper amount of "exaggerated " aspects lent such a unique style. I wish he could've done more Batman in his hey day. Imagine the classic Adams Batmans plus some Bernie. I would've loved to see his take on Scarecrow, Joker, Clayface, etc.
  4. My own homage a few years ago. I could only dream of being as good.
  5. Was one of my art inspirations. Only met him once and regret I didn't at least get something signed. RIP to a comic legend
  6. I was up against Hado officially and he scored higher. Unca Scrooge had a BYE but I accidentally was recorded there as well. All good
  7. No worries! I think I got lucky last year and made it far so I was due a "one and done"
  8. That time of year when I start to look forward to Motor City. Over 20 years of attending.
  9. I often think Kirbys work looked even better in the smaller format.
  10. Congratulations! I got the Marvel Pocket Book as a kid in the late 70's and loved reading those first 6 issues.
  11. PM sent! You're correct at what a challenge it is to find some of these. It's not like they are worth a lot so they tend to not make it onto websites or Shows. You have some I've been hunting down for almost 10 years. 5 to go and my Conan run is complete. (Then I'll fall into "upgrade" mode on it...)
  12. I've shared this before but it reminds me how much I loved his work. I did this at age 14 Circa 1980. I also tried to recreate the cover of Swamp Thing 2 but it's lost to antiquity.
  13. One of my art inspirations and favorites. I met him once at Motor City and regret not getting something signed. I wish him the best.
  14. Wow! Great prizes! I remember how blessed I was last year to win Greggy's prize. His generosity is 2nd to none.
  15. Big Thank You to Jazz Man! Love the slabs, especially the DC 100 Pager.
  16. Just got back from it today. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. My biggest complaint is the over-the-top action scenes that Snyder likes. It could use a better balance. Plus, it was a bit unbalanced setting up the future movies. Tell a great story and the rest will work itself out. Oh, and not a fan of the movie's Flash.
