  1. Sorry, I was out of town and didn't think I'd be on the list. 2. I have another version of this (thanks to Greggy!). I'm curious how to grade this one. The dent on top of front cover bugged me. Love the 100 Pagers!
  3. I had this for quite awhile until I bought an upgrade from Bob Storms. When I bought this as a teenager back in the early 80's, I thought I was "something" owning #8. I'll share what I thought this always was. Cover is secure and no tears (that's a crease through the "t" in Justice)
  4. Didn’t seem to work. At least from my IPad
  5. Yeah, I noticed that. I will have to see what I can figure out. I let my paid Photobucket run out and found the free site to be horrendous. Pop up crazy. Thanks!
  6. Yes, I expect the books bagged and boarded. I probably miss out on some good finds at Shows because I won’t go through boxes where the books aren’t bagged and boarded. I figure they get damaged too easily with all the people looking through them. Again, just my hobby quirk...
  7. A few months back, I came across my Marvel Premiere with the first appearance of the Legion of Monsters. Then I got a 1970's Avengers with Frankenstein's Monster and sat down at the drawing table. Have to get to Ann Arbor and make some prints for my nephews while they're old enough to still think this is "cool". Started with the concept with Ghost Rider, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy, Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster. Ended up adding Zombie, Lilith (flying) and a Bride of Dracula. Couldn't quite get Man-Thing in. I struggled with him. Thanks for letting me share!
  8. Yeah, I think, in the interest of time, I find myself skipping complete areas. But, in this instance, nostalgia won over. Now, if I can just figure out a "pocket universe" to store my short boxes in... Bag of Holding?
  9. FYI - some of those books were bundled 2 or 3 together. I wouldn't pay $5 each for some of the later MTU's.
  10. So, last weekend, I find out there is a Comic Show about 1 hour north. (Great Lakes Comic Con). I had never heard of it but was bored and figured it was worth the drive. The last one I went to was the Grand Rapids Comic Con last fall which was horrible for me and buying books. I was pleasantly surprised with the back issues at the show. I ended up being attracted to the $5 area of the Collector's Zone. I started with my Want List, which is overall a great guide for me but sometimes it's also a hindrance as I skip areas. While digging through the selection, which wasn't in any order, I started finding books for my nephew (Maximum Carnage, Avengers #190, Daredevil Annual #4)) and some on my Want List. But I also started grabbing books I has as a kid circa 1979/1980 that I had gotten rid in the mid-80's during college. Nothing earth-shaking but it was so fun and freeing just buying books that looked interesting like I did at age 13. Some books were upgrades, like the FF 200 as the one I bought as a kid didn't stay a 9.2. All the MTU's were on the Want List except the Man-Thing one. I already have it but couldn't resist the John Byrne art, same goes for Conan #100. The image with Star Trek and Thor was one that brought the most smiles. Almost all of these were books I bought at the drug store back in the day but got rid of by college. The sentimental side of me kicked in. You all influenced me on the Alien Worlds. I never owned them back in the day but the Dave Stevens art is so good. Thanks for letting me share!
  11. I was pleasantly surprised by the show. Bought a bunch of $5 books from Collectors Zone, the guy with glasses with the Avengers #1. I’ll try and share some pics later this week. What I really enjoyed was buying some books on sheer instinct like when I was a kid. Even bought some books I used to own that I bought new back in the day. Late 70’s Bronze Age.
  12. I may check this show out. Last show for me was Grand Rapids in October (?) and I couldn’t find any books I wanted though I got Mike Zeck to sign some prints. I’m admittedly picky on condition and look for Bronze Age. Debating the 1 hour drive...
  13. I’ve struggled with this as well. I gave up new comics 3 years ago because I wasn’t even reading them, just satiating my completionist curse. That and the space dedicated was growing too fast. But even on older books, I’m not reading them like I did as a kid. Somewhere with age, I lost the story magic...
  14. No brainer that he should be in. He defined an era. I love his work, especially when Austin inked him. His X-Men run is one of my all-time favorites.
  15. I was in Orlando for work and got back Thursday night to find a box from W16227 (Dave). The X-Men #78 alone is a beauty but he also sent some bonus books! First sketch cover book for me. The JLA vs Suicide Squad looks like a good read. Plus, some variants. Thanks again Dave!
  16. Where did 10 years go? Congrats! Always enjoy your posts.
  17. Love Perez's work! Will take that as a great compliment! Thanks
  18. Love it! That's something that will always be remembered.
