  1. Roy...but you okay my double cova brutha from anotha mutha
  2. (thumbs u Agnes is great! I make it a point to see her and Francis every time they're around! R.
  3. Yeah Wow! Green Men, girl in tube, early Schomburg, scarce...it's got it all. Now you're in for a treat....because the addiction has started. BTW, now I'm ticked at you because I can't buy the owner's 2nd copy.
  4. Oh, wait. It's a freakin auction! 20.00!!! $100.00 to the Heroes Initiative if Radovan piledrives Watson for real. $200 if you're next. I'll body slam the flamer onto the sexually confused hick! I am not confused, sexually or otherwise. Furthermore, I would prefer a wide berth between myself and you in Chicago.
  5. The increment thing would make things messy because then people could get accused of falsifying auctions (hidden bids) but it would make for more heated bidding because of a hidden max bid...

  7. I miss the icon with the 3 above the graemlin.
  8. I'm going to start an auction for front row seats to seeing me pile drive you in chicago.
  9. LEAVE IT TO OLD GUY TO SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!
  10. Yet again, misinformation from the Dr. Divad, you know as well as i do that the rule was written to prevent people from pulling funny stuff like changing prices, switching books etc. If a seller honors the auction terms (ie honors the hi bidder at auctiOn close) then there is no problem. It's not that the auction format breaks the rules, but rather the rules did not envision an auction format (which is a totally acceptable form of selling in any field) and just need a slight tweak. As long as bids are public and time/bids/books are honored there is no problems as far as breaking the meaning of the rule. See what I mean?
  11. Exactly. Despite repeated requests, sub-forums have not been created for GA/SA/BA/whatever because, I assume, the mods don't feel the numbers warrant it. If auctions become all the rage, then we can request one. I wouldn't run anything in the VCC unless it was part of the VCC ( ), a couple auction threads in the regular forum to see how this might work is not going to cause a problem. I'm tempted to try this with a really big book.
  12. I'll start a test auction tonite! Maybe....got to think of what to sell.
  13. Yeah, and although this sounds like Jim more than me, it must really irritate funny book collectors to have people with ethics on here. Like Holy Water on a Vampire. I won't even bother responding to that. Hopefully you're not implying that I'm unethical just because I think you are too vocal for your own good.
  14. Thank you. The same people who argue whether GPA is worth quoting, is pressing resto and how much thread real estate a seller should use....among other things that fail to come to mind right now. R.
  15. I just love how anyone who a) requests an Comic Auction sub-forum or b) might have some issues with turning the forums into EBay... is automatically categorized as NEGATIVE!! Don't you ever think anything through, weighing the pros and cons before you do it, or are you constantly running headlong into any random idea that pops into your head? Pizz off JC and take that brick off your shoulder. I meant (as most probably understood) that there are negative people here who will abuse the system and try to make this place resemble Feebay but the pros still outway the cons.
  16. Yes and the answer is, if you want to BID, you need to stop drinking;) In that case, I am completely against the auction format!!!! Does everyone know what a Kvetch is? Does anyone need to know that the sticky Cherry Comics I'm selling originally came from John's Saturday night sale? Smoke break my arse.... R.
  17. Hey gang, I have my Human Torch #11 CGC 9.2 White pages (with Slight Pro Resto) up for sale right here. Don't really want to sell it but I've over spent on Marvel Mystery books lately. Book is available till midnite and offers are entertained.
  18. It's a great idea and though we want to keep problems to a minimum I think the positive people in this place heavily out weigh the negative ones. I may give it a shot myself. (thumbs u
  19. Yeah, those "charity/help out a board member with expenses/etc." ones fly under the radar, and I remember Arch making a similar comment regarding charity auctions when someone (Comicwiz?) asked him about it. But that doesn't mean it's cool for personal gain, or that the board and CGC won't come down hard on profit-mongering auctioneers who simply want to transform this into EBay. profit-mongering auctioneers > breadstick-armed fanboys Shaddup firehair.
  20. kudos to greggy for waiting till my nap time to come on the boards. (thumbs u
  21. Sweet books all! Here is a new book from Vern. Looks better than expected. The MMC run is coming along... R.
  22. You actually don't need any additional software as the inital post will list the start and end time and it is all tracked by current software, ie. highest before auction end time wins. The forum clock is the software. I little crude but it would work. R.
