  1. I'm mixing a few GA books in among the SA I have for sale in this thread. Stuff like this:
  2. why dont you spit out the real issues you are having with whatever is going on in the sales threads that is bugging you? Instead of dropping hints, allegations, and things left unsaid  I agree. I think it's unethical but would like to know who is doing it. Waiting....

  4. I'm currently scanning and pricing higher grade books such as Superman #53 (classic cover/origin issue), Flash #119, Green Lantern #22, JIM #103...should be along within the hour. R.
  5. I wonder....markets change, trends change....is there any chance of bringing him back? I remember reading that modern mini series...what was it called...where the old man was quoting the book of revalation and Captain Marvel was possessed and became a bad guy for a while...any way he was marketed as a bit darker, a bit badder and a whole lot stronger than I thought was possible. In short, I thought they did a great job re-inventing him. I think with little bit of effort there would be a chance...just a thought. R.
  6. I'm going to list a few books in the next day or two. Mostly SA, higher grade...a few DC and a few Marvel. All really nice and early stuff. I may also relist some of the consignment books I've had with scans this time. R.
  7. There is never jealousy where there is not strong regard. - Washington Irving Best post I ever did see from a hick. Don't confuse me with Arex. Looking forward to some good hennyclucking over beers at the hotel in Chicago.

  9. Here's to hoping the room is just about comics.
  10. There's something wrong here. bhhooks never misses his que.
  11. Ah, but our intrepid fellow boardie Jeff (nearmint) will make sure that Whiz Comics shine again! It's too bad about Marvel. Although not as popular as the others he was pretty cool as far as origin/powers are concerned. I think that CC Beck kept him back as he never "matured" like the others (Batman/Superman). He just stayed "childish" and that was his downfall IMO. Lot's of great GA goodness there though. Just can't keep up today. R.
  12. Let's see...5...7...5... nice! And now another! Two threads on this foolishness! What? No pressing talk? Did somebody say pressing?
  13. That's kind of a loaded question with all the ingredients for a big mess and flame war. I'm sure every case (if there ever was one) is treated on a case by case basis as any business would do. I'd leave this well enough alone, personally because it just opens the doors to scammers and fraud artists. R.
  14. That's the key. CGC is not a big green monster hiding in the dark and scavenging off us poor vermin. They are actually very helpful and friendly and if there is a problem they make it right. They have for me every time. All you have to do is talk to them in a professional matter...no drugs before the phone call, no kinky noises, swearing or yelling during the phone call and no claiming it should have been a 9..9 instead of a 7.0. That's it. Easy as pie. Want to know why it graded the way it did? Want to know why the do things a certain way? Want to know.... Call them. I guess it's not as dramatic but it works. R.
  15. Hey, if he wrote it while water skiing or surfing then I think it was a pretty good attempt. R.
  16. Krypto, there are two issues you have. 1) the value of the book 2) the speed at which they email scans lets tackle 1. You decide the tier. Not them. You give them your money and say "I want this book graded under such and such a tier". If you cannot grade your book accurately you have the choice to choose a lower tier and they will bump you up if they need to! If not you come out ahead by paying a cheaper fee. If you choose the higher tier you are paying for speed and value. Both. Even if the value is not there (ex. the book is lower grade than expected) you still get your book much sooner. And quicker turn around costs you more in any business. It's like saying to Fed Ex : Oops. I thought i had to be there overnight but now it doesn't. Can I get a refund for my overnight shipping charge? No. You asked for the service and you got it. #2 You have a valid point. I agree with you. If you feel strongly about it I would call and talk to somebody about it. In a nice way. R.
  17. For those of you that missed it... Way too tame...where are the and the FUs???... better?
  18. I doubt those are the exact words. I've talked to pretty much everyone at CGC, and none of them have ever used paused, incomplete sentences on me. Or mispeled werds while talking. R.
  19. Something wrong with your mouth? (877) 662-6642 Press 1, then ask for Steve Borock. It's a lot easier than you think. But if you're just wanting to whine and get attention, forget this post and carry on. No offense to Krypto but that is so logical it's funny! I missed it too. R.
  20. While I agree the service should be completed the same day that you paid for it I dis-agree them refunding your money. If you want a book graded cheap then you need to choose the lower tier and if it gets a higher grade they bump you up. If you choose to slam it through walk-through you pay for that feature regardless of the value. I walk through books under $4000 often just to have them done with less delay. R.
  21. You were distant that whole weekend and I told you what you wanted to hear. For me it's just books not my livelihood. I don't want to ruin the persons rep like what happened to poor ghastly even though he was in the wrong. We want to hear about Tahoe.
