  5. Canada  No, my mom has a condo in Sarasota, Florida so that was the final destination but we made a crazy road trip out of it.
  6. Arex we went all over the mid west and west coast. Stayed in a different town almost every day. R.
  7. Well, folks. Even though I was on and off the boards for the past 1.5 weeks, it was just to check pms and stay on top of things. I just finished a road trip with Louise that ended up in some really great experiences! (Shameless plug....some kick arse books from the 30's to the 60's coming soon) I did the following: Met some incredible and friendly people on a 5000 km journey. Made woopey on the side of the road. Rummaged through about 200 long boxes of comics. Saw a really cool gun collection with everything from a Colt, to a Magnum to a .50 caliber Israeli Military issue boat anchor and a few assault rifles. Had some Louis 13 cognac. The stuff is about $3800 a bottle. The bottle is solid crystal and goes for over $1000 bucks on Ebay when empty. Smoked a $60 stogey. Got mistaken for a Rock Star. Saw some cool scenery. Partied hard in a few American towns. Saw lots of wild life Glad to be home. Here are some pics... Great view A little joke Nice shot Me and the lady What a koinkidink. Too funny! Wild Deer! Louise, 1/2 way through the trip decides she wants to paint her hood with a touch up stick.
  8. Thanks again Roy The scans don't do them Justice. Congrats on that sweet copy you picked up. Its a keeper. Yup long story on that book. I first saw it as a raw copy 5 years ago. It changed hands countless times, got graded, etc and I was so upset I could not afford it at the time. I kicked myself for years about that book. It's finally in my hands and I intend to keep it as long as I can. R.
  9. Still a great book! Here's my latest addittion.
  10. Hey gang. I've been really busy travelling over the past few weeks. I'm excited about getting back on the boards. I will be listing a TON of stuff over the next few weeks. Books will range from hi grade Golden Age, to lo grade Golden Age all the way up to lo/hi grade Silver age. Books will cover many genres and decades in a variety of grades. There will be keys, yes mega keys, classic covers and HTF books. If I were to guess I'd say a total of about 150 books. I'll keep you all posted. Looking to start posting some time this coming week. R.
  11. Personally, I feel that separating the two is a good idea. One compromise would be to start one thread and list the GA first, then the SA - or vice versa. If the books are for two different interest groups then there is no problem with two threads! Go ahead! The rule about covering too much "real estate" space in the forum was to prevent abuse not useful sales threads. R.
  12. 1st app. of Subby on a cover, Classic Schomburg, 2nd App. of Swastika on a cover if I'm not mistaken. Thanks guys for all the kind words. I'm stoked! R.
  13. It's a former CGC 9.0 off white page (M) pro resto. a bit of ct, a couple of small chips filled, some minor re-inforcement. R.
  14. I've already posted a thread on this latest purchase but it deserves it's place in this thread. A grail for sure. Thanks to all the boardies who made this happen.
  15. That cover from a few VCC's ago just blew me away and I've been looking for a copy ever since!
  16. I don't normally do this but I've been paying off this book for a while and I'm finally in the home stretch. Since I'm going on vacation I won't be receiving the book for a couple more weeks...and I just don't feel like waiting any longer to show it. Highest graded, white pages, kick arse yellow cover....what's not to like? Oh yeah, that it was owned by Bedrock. Thanks a mil Richard!!
  17. I once wrote my dad a check for Twenty Five Hundred Dollars / $250.00 and the bank would have been happy to cash it though I would have been surprised because I only owed him $250. I was about 8 years old when i wrote a "bum" check to Marvel and ordered multiple copies of their hardcovers and softcovers of their TPB's back in the late '70's. Then I forgot all about it until one day we got back from a family vacation and there was a box of books (I'm talking a big box) waiting for me on the front porch. If that was not enough, to add insult to injury they included a refund check because I made a mistake in calculations and "overpaid". I still have the refund check. I didn't cash it.
  18. I was actually so excited about this book that the first check I sent to him had a typo (or is that a "writo").... Bro...thanks for being patient.
