  1. you should be excited, that is a great looking copy... It is. And I didn't mean to rain on your parade Roy, it is indeed a very cool copy that you'll hopefully enjoy for years. (thumbs u Didn't take it in a neg way at all, G. Just stating that I've evolved a bit out of the PQ struggle and have other criteria that i consider more important some times. To each his own. Does anyone have a list of books that came out of the LJ Estate ? Jerry Weist maybe? R.
  2. you should be excited, that is a great looking copy... Thanks Gator. Next time you talk to Wes, kick him in the nads for me.
  3. I've come to learn that PQ is not everything. I have two c/ow books side by side and one looks much better. I swear if I resub my Mystic Comics #2 V2 it will come back with o/w pages. My JIM #114 9.4 came back with o/w pages and I was positive it would come back ow/w with a shot at white pages. Just goes to show everything is subjective. Any how, I'm excited. Kick arse book with a lineage that is tough to beat! R.
  4. I know I'm not supposed to count my chickens before they hatch but this book will be on it's way any day now...I've wanted a Lloyd Jacquet book ever since I heard about the collection. A little piece of history. For those who don't know he was the publisher responsible for publishing early Timely books from Marvel Comics #1 onwards. Kind of a big deal if you know what I mean. R.
  5. I know I posted this over in general a few days ago but it really belongs here. Bought this from Comicnut who graciously dropped it off on his way though Kitchener. The book unfortunately has a 1.5 inch spine split and a lower detached staple at the centerfold and cover but the pages are pretty much white with just a little age at the bottom edge. I love it!
  6. Nice. Chris said that book had really nice interior pages too! I was going to bid on that a while when it was on Ebay. R.
  7. Hey gang. Got a nice Batman #14 CGC 6.5 and Superman #5 CGC 8.5 for sale in the market place if someone is interested. The Superman #5 is real nice with ow/w pages. Roy.
  8. If you think anyone here believes you have me on ignore and are not reading my posts, well, even I'm embarassed for you... Why do we care what the hell he does? I wonder if Arch will do a hostage swap, JC for ShoNuff?
  9. Yeah, and Troll-Boy didn't say anything negative about me? Fat chance, and that why he's and his cronies are here, continually stalking me around the boards. Don't you think he's just saying "walk a mile in my shoes" in his own charming green skinned way? I didn;t read the entire thread but that is the gist i got. I don't want to get between you two, but this place is like marriage. Either one person gives in to make it work or eventually someone has to leave. If both give in (or compromise), all the better. R. Thanks Dr. Phil! Fine. In forum language not directed to JC or anyone in particular. Don't troll. Be humble. Be sensitive and open minded. mind your business. Or you get strikes.

  11. Nah, I'd rather burn all my books, and just might do that this summer. I want to see you burning a box of warehouse condition GSX #1's So now it's a BOX? This place is hilarious - now that Sho'nuff is banned, I guess everyone needs an enemy. awww stack, pile..whatever. Literary license and all that.
  12. I don't even want to know what Guardo here said. He basically expounded on my Canuck take and made it more universal. For the record, I think that is the way it should be done. Period. R.

  14. The conditional is pretty lame. I will always accept a conditional pm as long as the buyer is serious. That makes it fair for everyone. Some guys want to keep it anonymous, some guys need time payments authorized, some guys have more questions. I hate losing a book just because the seller was off line and could not answer a question for me.
  15. I don't get it.Why do people get annoyed? They can ask the question and you can decline. I was offered a ridiculous price for the FF #1 is sold for my friend. Why would I get upset? I just said no and the bidder came back with two higher bids. He didn't buy the book but still... Heck, greggy offered me $1 on an $800 Ebay book. Why take it personally. Every once in a while someone will say yes and that is what they are taking their chances on.. R.
  16. Only the Brits still do. I know. Love the British lingo. My girlfriend's a Brit so I guess I have to stand by my post. An even better word is score. Three score and ten.
  17. I love people that still use the word fortnight!
  18. As usual a bunch of irrelevant posts, a few relatively stale quips and one ignored Alpha male. Oh well, another day on the boards.
  19. Dave, the guy from North Coast, had them manufactured himself. I think he was trying to sell them to dealers and collectors and create a market for them but I'm not to sure how well he did on them. I don't recall him selling them at any recent shows but like you said, he uses them on his own books. I didn't realize he man'd them himself. For what it's worth, the books look absolutely spectacular in a mylar with a clear backer. It's truly something to behold. It would be nice if Trace or Matt (or FFB for that matter) chimed in and gave some input as to acidity, buffer etc. on this topic as if it were up to me, this (the clear backer) is the way I would store my books. R.
  20. Dave Kapelka (sp?) had them when he brought his OO Amazing Spider-man collection to market in Chicago. I bought a couple of his books and MK, Nik and a few other boardies saw the books in them last summer. They truly are a fantastic idea as far as visual appeal goes. I wonder if de-acidifying a book would prevent the need for a buffer in the bag....ie, how come there is no buffer in a CGC slab? I know they have the interleaving paper between the cover and the book but that is mainly there to prevent ink migration to the cover. R.
  21. So do I. I just like have a few extremeties above and below.. OKAY! I'm posting here at work in a huff and realize what I just said. I meant curves. CURVES!!
  22. So do I. I just like have a few extremeties above and below..
  23. Awesome. I want one of those! Looks like the corpse on the lower left already has his You know after seeing a cover like that Icannot for the life of me understand what is hot about Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton or any other 89 pounder out there. Seriously. That might be the most beautiful Frazetta cover I've ever seen....that is Frazetta isn't it?
