  1. Yep. Just went to Ebay's "community" and read all about this new rule. Stoopid! https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buying/automatic-payments/m-p/33549843
  2. Looking for a little help with an annoying situation... I've been buying comics (both BIN and auction) on Ebay for a decade now without any issues. Recently (maybe a month ago), I bought (via B/O) a comic, and as soon as I submitted the offer, I got a message from Ebay asking me what my preferred method of paying is ... I chose PP (thinking it's probably one of those things you have to resubmit every now and then. Well, I was surprised when there was no accept/decline/counter submitted ... I just automatically bought it right then. I swear, it was like the seller had some kind of automatic accept option for any offers over a certain amount. So today, after ensuring that the seller does combined shipping, I messaged a seller for roughly 75% of the total cost of 3 comics. He messaged me back saying that he'll accept my offers, and that he'll be waiting for my offers on each of the listings. Unfortunately, once I started to submit the first offer, I got that same message, "What's your preferred method of payment?" I'm afraid that if I submit the offers, I'll automatically pay for each of the comics ... paying full shipping for each of them. I messaged the seller the situation, but it's been almost a full day and I haven't heard beck from him. I'm afraid he thinks I'm trying to scam him or something. I know I can just ask the seller to refund any extra shipping costs, but I really shouldn't have to do that. What's going on?
  3. "could have happened in transit" Sometimes, what CGC says and does makes me wonder, are those people really that clueless, or are they pitbulls when it come to denying everything?
  4. @hym122 I'm not sure you will ever see that book again. If they are insisting that it never arrived, I doubt they would even spend time looking for it. I think the best you can hope for, at this point, is that CGC makes you right monetarily. Even that is doubtful, however, if they say they never received it. You can only hope. And don't stop calling/emailing them. Thinking to myself: CGC receives comics worth $100s, $1000s , and even $10,000s. How can they not have video? Suspicious. They'll definitely pay the amount that you listed for the FMV on the list. Whether they pay more than that is not obligatory, but not unheard of either. Same advice ... don't stop calling/emailing them (there's more than 1 person working there).
  5. This whole fiasco is a cluster. It seems like CGC knows that they royally screwed the pooch, and decided that instead of explaining what exactly happened and why they did what they did, they'll just keep silent and hope it just goes away. Typical.

    Bags?

Thanks Mike. I'm going to assume that, due to the fiasco with @SoCalComics, a company wide email was sent out to detail/explain this nonrule. It kinda appears that @MattM CS was left off that email. I hope the receivers were included in that email, also ... especially Mr Ramsey. I HAVE YOUR ORDER, BUT I NOTICE THAT YOU DIDN'T BAG AND BOARD THEM... AND BECAUSE OF THAT IT CAN'T BE PROCCESS. I CAN GIVE YOU TWO OPTIONS ; THE FIRST OPTIONS IS THAT WE SEND THEM BOOKS BACK TO YOU FOR YOU TO BAG AND BOARD.... THE SECOND OPTIONS IS THAT WE BAG AND BOARD BUT WE HAVE TO CHARGE YOU $2 PER BAG. PLEASE INFORM ON WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO. ANGEL RAMSEY Certified Collectibles Group p. 941-360-3990 | f. 941-360-2553 collectiblesgroup.com Receiving Clerk"
  7. @SoCalComics Did CGC call you yet? And if they did, did they explain why they opened a damaged (supposedly) box? Or why they're grading books that they told you were damaged?

    Bags?

From your link... Important Notice: The customer is responsible for safely and securely packaging the collectibles. Any instructions from CGC on how to package collectibles are only suggestions. The customer, in its sole discretion, must determine how to package the collectibles to prevent damage during the normal handling process. The customer assumes all risk of loss or damage to collectibles until collectibles are received and inspected by CGC.
  9. I applaud you sir. I don't know how many times I've read on these very boards a variation of "I don't care about xxx, so you shouldn't either".
  10. I readily admit that I'm not that good at grading, so notes on all books would be very welcome by me. The general consensus is that if the graders gave notes for all books it'd lengthen TATs. That's probably true, but I have my doubts whether that is actually the reason they don't do it. I think (and this is just my opinion) that it has more to do with why one book with very minimal defects gets a 9.6 and another book with many defects gets a 9.8. IOW, I believe it's more of a CYA reason. You ever notice that CGC will not supply notes for high grade books the vast majority of the time, but they WILL NOT say why?
  11. I might be off by a few, but I'm pretty sure that in December, 2021 they (CGC) announced that any PAID member had access to all graders notes. Then, in summer of 2022 (and succumbing to lots and lots of pressure) they announced that notes would be available for all.
  12. One of the reasons for making the decision to stop, was not so much because of the errors being made, but more so because of the obvious (to me) "we don't care" attitude exhibited by CGC.
  13. I've sent dozens of submissions to CGC over the last decade. I stopped a while back due to all their shenanigans. I still buy graded books.
  14. I think it's safe to say that if you use CGC's services, you are a gambling man. Whenever you send them your comics, you're basically rolling the dice.
  15. Let me guess ... it was a $7 book.
  16. C'mon CGC, this has been going on for months. This thread alone was started last October. Are you guys really trying to fix this? (We don't really need an answer. We already know what it is.)
  17. I'm going to assume that CGC has located the op's books ... based on the fact that he hasn't been on the forum since the day he started the thread (March 17). This assumption may be incorrect. Hard to say because he hasn't updated us ... which is pretty much par for the course with these kinds of threads. It doesn't appear that @brentio or @Joe Fox have their books.
  18. Maybe, and maybe you'd be driving home with your book(s).
  19. Just want to state the obvious... According to RMA's email, they were charging for this nonexistent bag rule well over two years ago. WTH is wrong with this place?
