  1. Whenever I sent in a ME, they've always refunded me the shipping. They just had me scan the receipt and send it to them. Of course, this was before the new owners. This isn't an automatic refund these days?
  2. Isn't there a rep from CL on these boards? Can he just simply comment on the shill bidding and sticker issues?
  3. Not to say the stain is or is not there, BUT if the book is reevaluated and found that the stain isn't there, I'm almost positive there would be absolutely no compensation given.
  4. We don't get much of anything here in west Michigan. I heard we had a tornado a few days ago, but I don't believe it. More concerned with thieves than Mother Nature.
  5. @PeterTedone Did you happen to look at the inside cover(s) before submitting?
  6. Yes, very weird. But I guess CGC thinks otherwise. It's the end of the week. Anything to report? Did they check the video? Let me guess, they answered the exact same way they always do when asked to check the video ... "There is no video in this instance.":
  7. Excuse a couple years ago - "Yeah, but CGC is really, really busy." Excuse today - ?
  8. This makes me think... I've never ever heard of CGC calling/writing someone saying, "We f'ed your book up." As far as I know, it's always graded/shipped and up to you to catch it.
  9. I'm not that good at math. What if there are 100 ME's per day?
  10. I kinda had the exact same experience ... with slight variations.. I found my dad's Playboys and hid them under my socks.
  11. That's about how long it takes me to stick a comic in a bag/board. (there goes my career as a professional grader)
  12. Not sure if this is pertinent to the subject, but I have a slab which has 059 as the last three digits of the serial number.
  13. Doesn't mean that. It's not an uncommon thing to have slabs come back with pieces of plastic inside the slab. But if discovered after the stupid 14 day window, CGC refuses to correct the problem unless you pay them. Edit: This is another example of CGC not correcting a problem that has been happening for years.
  14. Is it possible to pay for your CL winnings without having them shipped to you, but put right back into the next auction?
  15. Does this mean every book is graded, whether or not it's considered a reject by the pre-screener?
  16. It's so weird. The competition companies don't have them (or very seldom and minor when they do), but CGC slabs are very often accompanied with NRs (even severe cases are so common these days that they no longer cause any double-takes). And yet CGC is like "Sorry, it's a natural occurrence. Nothing we can do about it." Reminds me of a old job I had. There was a certain employee who arrived 10-15 minutes late just about every day. My boss was like "There's nothing we can do about it. He's got us over a barrel." because he was the only employee who knew how to run a particular machine. This is pretty much what CGC is doing. The vast majority of their submitters are CGC loyalists who refuse to either stop submitting or take their business elsewhere, so I'm certain CGC is like "What're they going to do about it. I'll tell you what they're going to do ... not a dang thing."
  17. It's so obvious that CGC is lying when they say each slab is inspected, or their QC people are inept. Both are correctable ... especially when you have years to do it. Unfortunately, it is also obvious that CGC chooses not to correct it.
  18. C'mon Mike. You told us that you actually watched QC do their thing for hours straight. May 24th in this thread -
