  1. I don't sell on Ebay ... only buy. So I realistically don't know how frustrating NPBs are. However, being a buyer only, it seems like an asinine decision by Ebay. Hopefully, with all the backlash they're receiving, they'll adjust this a little.
  2. A couple of quick points... - I agree that it must be somewhat of an opinion-based process, due to the many cases of rejected books being passed on a subsequent PS. - The process of screening the batch must take a significant amount of time. If you subtract all of the rejects, that just reduces the amount of time the graders have to take on the submission. Yet, according to the services page, PSs take an additional 6 weeks.
  3. I'm not sure if you can still do combined shipping when paying the full price of BINs, but whenever I make an offer these days, I automatically pay for the item (including full shipping) if the offer is accepted. I have to rely on the buyer to reimburse me the extra shipping costs when I buy multiple items from him ... which makes me nervous.
  4. Other than the above FB post by them, telling us how they are now more resistant to attacks now, did they ever let us know that they were under attack? Most (all) of us were wondering what the heck was going on.
  5. What'd he do? Just kidding
  6. re: buyers getting 15 days to pay This is from 2 auctions ago...
  7. Just did my first consignment with them (2nd one is in this week's auction) and I couldn't believe how easy it was. The only thing that kind of surprised me (and this is probably all me) is that every one of my comics that were sent in were vastly graded lower than what I graded them. I'm not talking most of them, or even some of them, but EVERY one of them. And I'm not talking a little off, or slightly different grades, but very different grades. Again, this is probably an indication of how sucky I am at grading. ...but every one of them? I think my next batch that I send them, I'll post all of them in the PGM forum here first.
  8. I was thinking slabs with 'FROM THE COLLECTION OF...' on the label. Nic Cage Wendy Pini etc Here's a link from last year that might shed some light...
  9. Possibly, I don't know. I only have experience with this new policy when making offers. I'm pretty sure sellers have the option of having offers of (or greater than) a certain amount being automatically accepted. When that happens, I automatically purchase the item (the money is automatically taken out of my PP).
  10. This happened to me a couple of times already. Less than a second after submitting an offer, I got a message from Ebay confirming the order. It's surprising and I would prefer it not being like this, but it didn't bother me too much. What really stinks is the combined shipping aspect mentioned above. I had a seller with three different BINs listed that I wanted to make an offer on. I emailed the seller, telling him about this new policy and that I'd be charged the total shipping cost on all three comics. He knew nothing about it and told me to go ahead and buy them one at a time (he already said he'd accept my offers) and that he'd reimburse the shipping. That seemed too risky as I didn't know this seller from Adam, so I passed. Ebay just cost me (and them) three sales. BTW- what's a nail polish strip?
  11. I stopped selling on Ebay when they went to Managed Payments a few years ago. I still buy there, but no more selling ... too many hoops. I don't do social media at all, so no FB and those kind of places. I've been buying/selling on CLink for years with no problems. But I'm starting to raise my eyebrows on some of my winning bids, so I've just recently started using MCS. I was a little shocked at first on how much MCS said I was off on my grades ... 100% of the comics I sent them were way off according to them. Not just off ... way off. But the ease of selling there added to the fact that I'm still happy with the hammer prices on my auctions cause me to continue using them.
  12. I've been a member for 9 years, and just now discovered I can't give 2 likes.
  13. I have a magic wallet. It actually talks to me. It tells me what grade will make me happy. So weird.
  14. It's been good to go since last night. Before that, it was hit -n- miss for almost a week (mostly miss). Went in a few days ago to delete any CC information - just being a lemming as I know nothing about these kinds of things. Fortunately, I had no CC information saved on the site. re: prices being lower this time I won two auctions and, as usual, I ended up paying my max bid that I placed days before the auction ended (them dang auctions get over way past my bedtime ). This is off-topic, but I seem to pay my max bid an inordinate amount of the time. I'm not shouting from the rooftops yet, but I am starting to get suspicious.
  15. It's pretty sad that it's come to this. Living with subpar service (which you paid for) out of a very justified fear of CGC damaging your books. You'd think that instead of spending manhours scanning all the books, they'd fix their dang QC problem. It's been an ongoing problem for years, afterall. All these issues have been going on for far too long. Far too long.
  16. This decision gets a thumbs-up. Not really sure why the option is still of the submission form?
  17. Yes, it's pretty darn obvious why CGC implemented this 14 day rule.
  18. Got this one to add to my run. ( 1 down ... all the rest to go)
  19. Shoot! And I was always so good at math, too. <---- not true Yes, I'll still take it. Thanks!
  20. I routinely buy restored books. You are correct, you can save $1,000s. To me, buying restored vs universal is akin to Archie vs Superman ... all a matter of what you prefer. Don't think for a second you have to justify buying restored.
