  1. "There is a precedent for acetate covers being attached to a printed book, and then graded by CGC" "For us, this was an unprecedented item to grade."
  2. That means that whatever is inspected, it isn't for NR. Maybe just the correct number of books in the box?
  3. "There's a bunch of people on the forums talking about submitting their own acetate covers. What do we do now?" "Let's just say that the cover has to be by an established artist. That'll put the kibosh on that crap."
  4. So far, from what I can tell, 2 reasons for doing this have been given...the Stray Dogs thing and the fact that Crain did the artwork on the acetate. Both are downright stupid.
  5. Remember when it was fun getting your comics graded? Those were the days. I had nothing but praise for CGC ... that hasn't happened in a long time.
  6. "Inspected by" means what exactly? What is inspected and what is it inspected for?
  7. I'm not sure I understand you. Are you saying this is a non issue?
  8. I'm thinking that if CGC has such a hard-on for the Benjamins that they'll give grades for cash, should I be worried that I didn't pay for Fast Track?
  9. CGC never graded these books in the first place. They encapsulated them with the grade that BF paid for.
  10. I don't believe the word 'standards' has been in CGC's vocabulary for a long time.
  11. It seems quite clear that CGC isn't going to address the 'pay for grades' question...it's been a few of days now since the suspicion was first raised. I wonder if BF would be more receptive to questions?
  12. Grade Date: 7/25/22 (in the Census as #316) "CCG is currently putting into place several new processes focused on improving quality control, including the implementation of more stringent procedures, increasing inspection checkpoints within the certification process and expanding its quality control training programs."
  13. Pay for Grades What say you CGC? yea or nay?
  14. CGC must've known what they were doing was completely wrong and was going to make them look bad. They ain't stupid. ... being greedy and without integrity doesn't mean you're dumb. So that means they just didn't care about any backlash they were going to get. And these bs excuses about the original artist doing the artwork on the added cover making it ok is stupid, also.
  15. I'm curious if anyone thinks they made a correct choice.
  16. Grade Date 07/26/2022 "CCG is currently putting into place several new processes focused on improving quality control, including the implementation of more stringent procedures, increasing inspection checkpoints within the certification process and expanding its quality control training programs."
  17. 100% That inept attempt at a reason was pathetic.
  18. "We just made a boatload of cash on this deal. Think we give two shakes what anybody thinks?"
  19. The pros ($) outweigh the cons (backlash). Sadly, I'm not surprised in the least by this decision. Money, imo, is the driving force behind every decision this company makes ... right/wrong and integrity are not a consideration.
  20. I don't recall if this was ever officially addressed.
  21. Just one more plaque to go on the pole of bad decisions. Seriously CGC, stop with all this BS, and get back to who you used to be.
  22. My conundrum is that I live by myself. Combine that with the fact that I work during the day, and we have a problem receiving packages that require a signature. In the past, I always used Registered Mail ... mainly for insurance reasons, but it also was convenient that the PO was right near my house. Now, however, with FedEx being the only choice, a problem has arisen. The FedEx hub is about 20 miles away. Yet another great decision from our favorite comic grading company.
