  1. I've got a copy of this, problem is finding a bag to fit it. Magazine size is too short. So is this the first appearance of Tank Girl? I just had this laying around in one of my oddball piles, because the size of it makes it hard to store.
  2. Thanks hombre! I was hoping the con report might draw you out. I am totally throwing the ANY and ALL B i tch Planet #1s into the spec box to marinate for 10yrs or so... that will be a good book one day. Lots of young women entering the hobby right now and that book is 'around the way' at about 39k pre-sales in Dec. 2014. What are you thinking on that book? Buy & hold or are you planning a flip? Buying and holding, only because it doesn't look like they are going for much on eBay right now, so not something I would sell yet. Here's my list of stuff that I've sold on eBay recently, been doing well selling some oddball stuff that not everyone else lists: http://www.ebay.com/sch/brotherjcomix/m.html?_nkw&_armrs=1&_ipg&_from&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2046732.m1684
  3. Man, wish I had known you were interested in that Rust book. I had pulled a set of that series from a 25 cent box and flipped them on eBay quite a while back. Had copies of both the regular and limited #1. Don't think I have any more, but I'll take a look. We're still thinking along the same lines as I also just picked up a copy of person_without_enough_empathy Planet #1 for $4 from my local shop. Glad to hear the panel went well.
  4. Does anyone remember when the determination of printings for Cherry was changed? The original Fogel guide stated that all the first printings of #1-11 had different cover prices from the 2nd and later printings (except for #7, which you had to look at a back cover ad to tell). The Update that came out in 2010 states that other than #1 and #2, the other issues between #3-11 had several printings with the $2.50 cover price. Was just discussing this with a fellow underground collector via e-mail and was wondering when this change was determined. Not challenging it because I have no idea!
  5. Yeah, I went ahead and ordered my copy from Midtown, as well. Showed up in nice condition.
  6. This eBay listing pretty much acts as an "unboxing" of the set. Zap Box set on eBay Even though the sealed packs are still sealed, I don't see where there could be a separate stand alone version of Zap #16, and the label itself doesn't read like there is a stand alone copy included. I always just assumed it was a stand alone book in the box set.
  7. Question for anyone who may have invested in the Zap box set and also bought a copy of Zap #16 that was released through Diamond in recent weeks. Are there any differences between the Zap #16 that came with the box set and the Zap #16 that was sold separately for $14.99? I hadn't even thought of this, but I brought my copy into my local shop to show it to the owner and the first question he asked after I told him Zap #16 originally came with the box set and was later released separately was "Is this one a second printing, then?" I'd hate to think it was a second printing, but I guess it would be a second print if they only printed enough at first to go into the box sets.
  8. Man, that ceiling sagging down is scary! I remember a lot of the ceiling tiles were water stained when I used to go to the Burnham show, so I guess it got worse after I moved away.
  9. considering there are multiple underground comix groups on Facebook, I have no idea which one you are a member of. You might post a link to the particular group you are talking about.
  10. Here's one you don't see often that went for a decent amount of coin: Are Your Highs Getting You Down 1st print
  11. I generally put Do Not Bend on my packages, but had taken to putting a fragile sticker on them, as well, in the hope that they would not handle the packages too roughly. Apparently this charge was started last year, but this is the first time I've ever had anyone charged extra for it.
  12. I don't know if it's been mentioned before (I did a search and did not find anything), but I just found out that the USPS is charging a $10 surcharge if you mark a package "Fragile". I have been marking my comics packages Fragile for a while now and have never had any problems until yesterday when I received a message from an eBay buyer that they were charged $10 postage due. I had no idea why that would have been the case, but the buyer went to the Post Office today and that's what they were told. Sorry if this is common knowledge to others here, because it was shocking news to me.
  13. Good recap, pretty much how I remember this sale, except I don't remember it taking so long to get pricing. I think when I went they were using Overstreet. I absolutely robbed them on Valiant stuff, as they were pricing at Overstreet while Valiant was going for a LOT more on eBay. Between myself and another collector from Valiantfans.com, we really cleaned them out of all the good Valiant books. Wish I had known you thought the undergrounds were in the vault, as I could have told you otherwise. They were stacked in some cramped back room the time I was able to go through them, but I did pick up a few nice items. My favorite was probably a first printing of Teenage Horizons of Shangrila with the local Milwaukee ads.
  14. Actually, I was just getting up. But since I already own a copy it's not something I usually look for. Somebody got a nice deal and I guess it's this type of opportunity that keeps folks regularly checking what's on Ebay. Sorry for your loss and I wish you the best success in your pursuit of Raw #1. Nah, I already have one, or I would have made more of an effort to bid on this one. Here's my copy:
  15. I haven't been selling on eBay, but thinking about maybe listing some more. I think the last underground comix items I sold were some Mike Roden Thru Black Holes stuff.
  16. Were all you guys asleep? I had it in my watch list, but wasn't online to make a late bid. If I had known it was going to go THIS cheap... Raw #1 FN goes for $21.50
  17. I've been selling quite a few of my harder to get undergrounds, but I think I'm going to hang onto my copy of Jesus Loves You. That cover is just too good. (Not my copy, mine is in better condition)
  18. COMIX reprint guide Use the A-Z "keypad" on that page to find the books you are looking for. As far as the page not being updated, most of the information there is still accurate other than recent discoveries made by collectors like 50 Cent here, who has done a lot of great research on undergrounds.
  19. Here's the hoard of Harbinger #1's I used to own. Most were sold off a while back, but I still have a few copies laying around...
  20. Sounds great, J! Late June we will be down in NOLA for a conference. Maybe you can inspire me to sell more and follow your model that we talked about last year? Let us stay in touch for 2016 and sorry for the loss of two dogs in 2015. Maybe we'll crash Wizard World Philly FRI June 3, 2016! We'll probably be shooting for a Milwaukee trip in mid-August, as I normally work a summer run, but have a few weeks in August off before the main run starts again in September. I've never been to the Philly Wizard World, so I'm not sure if it's a good show. Might have to give it a shot.
  21. One goal for me would be to get out to Milwaukee for a week or so this summer, so hopefully you'll be around for whatever time that is that the wife and I can make it out there. To meet that goal, I need to get back into the eBay selling and saving that money for the trip.
  22. I know you have your reasons for going to the store you do, but when I lived there I had gotten to the point where I would only go to one of their stores if I was desperate. The other locations other than the one on KK are basically not worth going to if you are a back issue collector. Lost Worlds of Wonder is the best in town and I would even rate Vortex ahead of the chain for back issues because you can actually look through them more than once a year. Speaking of that, I see the sale day for the KK store is January 10th and I see they actually now CHARGE ADMISSION to enter the store and look through the back issues in the basement on that day. Unbelievable....
  23. http://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP151352 http://www.amazon.com/Zap-Comix-16-R-Crumb/dp/1606999001/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1450225303&sr=8-2&keywords=Zap+Comix old news? Just saw it on Facebook, Zap #16 will be released (according to Amazon.com) on February 22, 2016 (for those who didn't drop $500 for the Zap box set)
