  1. Definitely a tough book, as are many of the later issues of this series along with the trade paperback for Cotton Candy Autopsy.
  2. This eBay listing shows a direct edition with the #2 on it, the regular direct version says #33 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Quasar-33-Capullo-Her-Galactic-Storm-Rare-Newsstand-2-Direct-Variant-NM-M-1992/123354424583?hash=item1cb87f2507:g:1rYAAOSwomVbF0Mu Here's a listing for a direct edition with #3, regular version is #34 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Quasar-34-May-1992-Marvel-Misprint-Galactic-Storm-Mark-Gruenwald-Rurik-Tyler/192663746834?epid=85481133&hash=item2cdba77912:g:6cMAAOSwYXVY0zeZ
  3. Yeah, cardboard, looks so much like chromium it even fooled me until I just took my copy out.
  4. The awesome Vampi #12 Holo FX cover by Stephen Platt. Really, it's a variant of a variant, as the variant Platt cover also has a non chromium version.
  5. It's more of the difficulty of finding this particular ashcan not signed, as almost all the copies of it were. The later issues of Pitt also go for a premium because of low print runs.
  6. Nope, already sold. I also received a PM from another board member on this a couple weeks back, so there appears to be some interest in this book. I sold it a while back on eBay. The person I sold it to listed it again on eBay and flipped it for a nice profit for himself. It ended up selling via Best Offer for $200.
  7. Last Ultraverse book is Ultraverse Future Shock published in February 1997. Ultraverse is an interesting line to collect, lots of neat, rare items. Here's one you're not going to find very easily: https://cheepultraverse.wordpress.com/tag/mantra/
  8. For those who enjoy the smaller shows (like myself), what do you expect the ticket price to be? I think I must be spoiled because of the Philly airport show ($3, $2 with the flyer) and the CHUD in Cherry Hill ($1 or get in free if you know the password).
  9. I check Craigslist occasionally, but usually find it's a waste of time. Most of the ads are people wanting to buy, and the selling ones are usually someone with junk books. This listing caught my attention, though: https://reading.craigslist.org/zip/d/thousands-of-comic-books/6698586372.html free comics, I figured most of it would be drek, but I figured all it would cost me was some gas and the time to take a look. Was a little wary, but I figured since they listed an address that it was likely the books would be at curbside. Sure enough, when I arrived, I saw a bunch of boxes outside. Most of the boxes were sealed cases, but there were also some long boxes. I saw the sealed boxes were Markosia graphic novels. I was then hoping the long boxes might be the "80's books" mentioned in the listing, but no, it was more Markosia graphic novels. If there were any 80's books, they were already gone, and the ad had only been posted a couple hours before I got there. I loaded my car with a few boxes of books. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them! There's still a lot more if anyone is in the Reading, PA area.
  10. I'd probably pick any Turtles book I found in a bargain box, but the Image and the Vol. 4 series are the two runs that I look for specifically, mainly because of scarcity.
  11. Yeah, I didn't see any Image Turtles newsstands listed on eBay when I checked recently. I picked these up at a comic show last weekend. I would have purchased any of the Image Turtles books, so seeing they were newsstand editions was a nice bonus.
  12. I contacted Mr. Byers and he responded quickly. #9 does indeed exist, but apparently it's pretty rare, Mr. Byers doesn't even have a copy! Needless to say I am intrigued and will be looking to buy a copy of this if I ever find one.
  13. mycomicshop.com has it listed as April 1987 (which means it doesn't really belong in the modern section here, sorry)
  14. Did online sources list the last issue of Gargoyles as existing, though? I just double checked Mile High, Atomic Avenue and Grand Comics Database and NONE of them have this book listed. In fact, I'm sure I've checked mycomicshop's listing for this title before and this book wasn't listed the last time I looked, so it must be a recent addition. I guess my next step would be to try to contact Reggie Byers online and see if he can shed any light on this.
  15. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, as most of the books in this thread are able to be found in the wild, just not frequently. Here's one that didn't exist as far as I knew, but all of the sudden, mycomicshop.com has a picture of it, Shuriken #9. As far as I knew, there were only 8 issues in this run, but all of the sudden I'm seeing this listing. Can't find evidence anywhere else of it existing. I doubt if anyone else would know or care, but I figured I'd ask.
  16. If I recall correctly, I believe I picked up my copy of #1 with the local ads from Collector's Edge, the one time I was able to convince them to allow me to root through their underground boxes. This is a scan of the insert above, I can print it out if you need that, or feel free to just save a copy for yourself. Let me know.
  17. Here's my contribution, another underground, but not the typical UG comix sticker. Instead, it's a unique looking sticker, with the original (large) price blacked out by a marker. It also came with an info sheet on the creator. When I acquired this one, I thought I had discovered a new printing, not just a price stickered copy.
  18. Then there is this one, which I thought was weird when I saw it on eBay. Thought I had discovered a new variant. It turned out to be a pretty unique looking sticker, with the old price blacked out with some type of marker. Also included was an info sheet on Grass Green.
  19. There is a discussion about price stickered books in the Bronze section, which reminded me of a neat book I bought off eBay a while back. Super Soul Comix. Here's the first one I have, it's stickered, but a pretty common sticker to undergrounds:
  20. Just noticed copies of Nameless #1 by Grant Morrison are being quickly purchased on eBay. I guess this news article is the reason, but it sounds far from a sure thing, mention of the series is only one of several possibilites: https://www.gamerevolution.com/news/420427-bloodborne-movie-james-gunn-sony
  21. Sounds almost identical to the situation I just had, except my buyer never left feedback. It only took three days for me to have my money released back to me, so assuming you shipped with tracking, you should get your money back sooner than later.
  22. The book was sold through eBay, so I should be paying eBay their fees. I didn't lose out on anything. I sold the book and was paid. I paid eBay their fees and also Paypal fees for receiving the money. The only thing I lost was the usage of the small amount of funds I got for the book (less than $20) for a few days while they "held" the funds. I wonder if the person who did the chargeback also got their money back and if so, who lost out on the funds.
  23. I'm probably one of the few that enjoyed David Lapham's Young Liars. It was very strange, but interesting. Always liked Lapham's work from Stray Bullets to Valiant to Defiant.
