  1. Congratulations on some terrific pickups!! I especially love the Action cover, as the inking suggests to me a hint of the masters of comic strips, Alex Raymond and Burne Hogarth: Raymond the fur (is that Grodd?) and Hogarth the fauna. It’s an extremely well-executed piece!
  2. Really great and targeted acquisitions, and your insights really cinch why these are special to you!
  3. I haven't seen the series. Can you recap this bit of trolling, just so I can feel partially up-to-date?
  4. I’m always impressed with everyone’s acquisitions! So many great books across all genres. As in previous years, I hunted books that fly mostly under the radar. Happy collecting in 2023!!
  5. I don’t know your circumstances, but I do hate that you have to sell those and break them up. It must’ve been quite the dedicated labor of love to put together a run like that!
  6. Wow! That is one of the strongest “everyday life” depictions I’ve ever seen on an original art page.
  7. Wow, your Mary Jane and Sniffles is in amazing shape! Is there a story behind it?
  8. That "8000 prizes" sunburst is wwaaaayyyy better than the horrible banners Marvel used to try to ruin books like X-Men 137.
  9. I was very pleased with my recent dealing with g-man: a mixed lot of gold and silver readers, with a few hidden gems. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again!!
  10. Wow... I was just looking at all yesterday and today's messages in the thread here. It's a pretty good sell-through in these final hours. Takeaways for me at least: things are moving slower than last year, that's for sure, but at the right price, comics of all sorts are still finding loving, new homes with some frequency.
  11. Take Gene Autry 5 and 8, and Four Color (Mickey) 214 per PM. Respectfully, He of the Lowball Clan
  12. Well, not really a new “take,” but I left Little Lulu FC 120 off from our PM, so
  13. Take per PM - thanks! Pogo 3 Pogo 4 Rifleman 1 Marmaduke Mouse 17 Pogo 6 Stamps 7 Robin Hood 8 Little Lulu Vacation 1 Crime Exposed 4 Sports Action 10
  14. Total beast. I can't imagine how strong he was. There's no "show" there, only "go" - but so much "go" that there is "show!"
  15. Great stuff - from the best run in comics! That Albert the Alligator number 105 is one of my favorites of the whole run, and yours is in great shape. Even the television books, at which I used to turn my nose up, now appeal to me more and more. I say it all the time: Four Color is the broadest survey of Americana there is! Sure, Life magazine, for example, had the later 30’s through about the early 60’s (when it lost some of its luster) covered with some great photojournalism by Bourke-White and others, but it was aimed chiefly at adults, thus ignoring too great a slice of the entertainment equation.
  16. And then, in a mind-numbingly perfect example of hypocrisy, you use a slur yourself: redneck. I’m going to file this away in my “You can’t make this stuff up” folder.
  17. Take Lovelorn 21 and Secret Hearts 11
  18. Take Western romance lot
