  1. A family member found out that the wife and I enjoy comics and sent these along to us. I am hoping robot man can help with that little sliver of a pin that says "patrol leader" and inform me whether that is also a D. Tracy pin too
  2. You don't have to be a fan to understand the breadth of his work and the impact it made.
  3. Nope just collect MAD magazine stuff. I happened upon those things when people were trying to sell the MAD mags.
  4. Trump Magazine Humbug comic/magazine Jungle Book help Magazine Then he became a teacher
  5. I love Tracy comics. Are the comics reprints of the newspaper strips? Either way, the complete tracy series that has been released within the past 10 years has been gold!. Love those reprints.
  6. Are those 50 long boxes? Did you have to rent a truck to pick them up?
  7. I don't see how this would be any worse than The Harvey Street Kids. I have yet to hear how Little Audrey, Dot, and Lotta comics have improved price wise, but the show is good. Forbes Media is pretty good about these netflix or game news items.
  8. I am sure you could get more than that for the empty tubs. I would have just recycled so much stuff.
  9. These were all sold on the early days of ebay... Adventure Comics 431 X-men 3 and 6 and GSX 1 ASM 300 Then when I worked at a comic shop in my late teens I missed out on off the shelf ultimate spider-man #1 (especially with the movie bubble a while back) and Walking Dead #1
  10. I am a HUGE Mad fan but I can honestly say that I have not wanted to purchase the magazine since they started added advertisements. The wife and I were talking about what could have saved it and we thought that if it wasn't owned by DC comics they could have gone digital and become an online entitiy. Then, 2-4 times a year they release a print version of their comics in a TPB with some extra content due it being in print.
  11. Bob Kane said he invented it with no ones help whatsoever.
  12. Is there anything the OP would like to contribute to the thread other than the question?
  13. So... Does ebay not give out those % or $ off $75 or more coupons anymore?
  14. I appreciated Kirby a lot more when I was able to read his stories collected in a single volume than issue by issue when I was able to obtain them. The stories made more sense at least.
  15. Microchamber paper is adding another piece of paper in the mix and makes it more flammable.
  16. Wow I did not realize that there really are some Omnibus that go for that much. I remember buying those things during Christmas time at Barnes and Noble when they had the buy 2 get 1 free graphic novels sales. I am happy that the one thing I ever got signed by Stan Lee was an omnibus book, which is thankfully not out of print. Or else that signature would just bring down the value Have you thought about asking book collectors who specialize in Little Golden Books or something like that?
  17. We got some of those book jacket covers. It mostly protects the book jacket but to be honest that is what most people are looking at. As long as the dust jacket is covered the inside stays the same and the jacket is protected. If you size your shelves well then you don't have to worry about dust on top of the book as much, just on the spine. Of course the covers do not prevent fading from the sun..
  18. ! In 25 years I will be old so I imagine the market would lean toward what was popular when I was young (25 years ago today). Highest graded first appearance of Spawn, Bone, and Turok. I would also want to include IH181 because of Wolverine and whatever is leftover would net me a Tec 31, 33, or 35 because everyone likes Batman.
  19. Really late to this... Isn't Ron Cobb an editorial cartoonist? I have a number of his books and I always thought they were in the editorial/political category.
  20. Gotta love that fun random stuff. That would be the best list for LPs as long as Jack Davis didn't illustrate any beyond 1983
  21. The amount of art outside of Mad Jack Davis did is just immense. I don't think anyone has even close to a comprehensive list.
  22. I am going to be the nosy one. What brought you to Jack Davis's studio for business?
  23. Good news is that you can reuse those Kiss calendars in 2022. Do you plan on sitting on them for the next few years?
  24. Excelllent news and congratulations! So, how many comics all together were in these lots you won? What was your most favorite out of what you won?
