  1. I am happy to report that I received 2 packages today. 1) One package was from the recent CL auction. I had paid that invoice on Tuesday June 30 (after 11pm). I paid the standard shipping charge (nothing extra) and I received the package today (less than 3 days later). WOW! Thank you Comic Link! 2) The other package was from the May CC auction. On a positive note, I believe it is important to give credit where credit is due. I contacted Rob (at CC) on July 1, and asked him about my order. Rob checked on it and told me they would ship it that day and that Fed Ex would pick it up the next day. Thank you Rob Reynolds!
  2. To add insult to injury, I get an email from Metropolis today that says in part..... Have you heard about our weekly Metropolis auctions on eBay?! Each week we have an incredible collection of merchandise for you to bid on, like CGC graded comics, raw comics, art prints, mystery boxes, and group lots. Our first eBay auctions ends TODAY. At 6:00 PM EST every item will begin to close. Below are a few stand out comics and giclees available to bid on.To see everything, please visit our eBay store by clicking here. So I decided to click on a few of the books that are ending tonight to see what the delivery dates are. On the books that I looked at, the estimated delivery dates were July 7 - July 8. WHAT?????? So on May 23 I was told that my books would be shipped within 3 weeks (still waiting with no clue as to when they will ship the books that I "won" and paid for), however, if I buy a book off eBay, I can get it next week (according to the listings). Something does not seem right here. If a company is going to "claim" the current situation (COVID) is going to delay shipping, then why is it only delaying shipping on the books that were in the May auction? Also in an eBay listing they wrote.... Accurate Grading, Fast Shipping and Excellent Customer Service. I would like to know what they consider "Fast Shipping" and as for "Customer Service", IMO it is far less than "Excellent".
  3. At least CL ships a customer's "wins" out in a reasonable time (or at least I have always found them reasonable). Plus CL divides their auctions into sessions so that if you are only interested in one area of collecting (say Golden Age) then you can just look at that session. I have no interest in looking through video games when I am trying to buy comics (although I am not putting down anyone else who chooses to collect video games - it is just not my thing).
  4. That is what makes this place great. People like you (collectors) who take the time and effort to help other collectors achieve their dreams. Not for a profit, but simply for love of the hobby and a genuine desire to put others before themselves. I am not a dealer either (nor a flipper or even a seller - simply a collector). I am thankful for the dealers who seek out books and make them available to those of us who collect, however, I am even more thankful for people like you.
  5. @Artboy99 Thanks for sharing your experience. I think that companies (especially those that are providing much desired collectibles to collectors) sometimes believe they don't have to offer any sort of reasonable customer service, since collectors will keep buying regardless of how badly they are treated. I am happy to know you received your book (although I am shocked at how different the scans look). Thanks again.
  6. 6 episodes down and I have enjoyed every one of them. They are doing a great job with this and keeping it "kid friendly", funny, and still enjoyable for adults. I give this show two thumbs up. One minor detail, that I thought strange in episode 5... When Stargirl's Step-Dad is looking under the hood of his 55 Buick Special and trying to figure out what is wrong with it, Hour Man's son comes up and says it sounds like the alternator. Given that car was built in 1955 and alternators were not put into cars until 1959, I am not sure how it could be a problem with the alternator (unless of course we are assuming the car was for some unknown reason converted over, which I find highly unlikely). GREAT SHOW!!!! I hope they keep up the good work!!!
  7. I am just reading this post now (almost a year too late), however, I wanted to thank you for posting. Had I seen this post, I would definately have been interested in picking up the copy. OSPG says there are only 4 copies. 3 belong to board members. I would have been happy to make it all 4 belonging to board members. Thanks again.
  8. I have not received even a notice (as to when they will ship) on ANY of my wins. Not great customer service for an auction that ended 05/22/2020 (over a month ago). At this rate I may receive my win(s) from the current Comic Link auction before I get my books from Comic Connect. I think if I ever decide to auction off any of my books, it is unlikely I will be using CC.
  9. Thanks for letting us know (maybe there is hope). BTW - Nice upgrade. Congrats.
  10. Thank you for the update. Maybe there is hope. It would be great if they would at least let people know when they might expect their books.
  11. I have not received them yet. I have not been provided even an estimate as to when they will ship them. Not what I call good customer service, however, I know (and respect) that many disagree.
  12. When I saw the title, I had to do a google search to figure out what everyone was talking about. Guess, I am not in the Funko boat,
  13. Perhaps I was just expecting too much. If my expectations were lower, perhaps I would have been more satisfied. Too many things that I didn't like (things like an overweight Thor who walked around acting like a clown). Several other things, but that is not what this thread is about and I do not wish to derail the thread with my thoughts on Endgame. I am sure there was probably an Endgame thread started at some point. I will say there have been many worse movies than Endgame, however, that was my most recent let down.
  14. I felt the same way about the last Avenger movie (although I might get rocks thrown at me here for saying that out loud).
  15. Write up a will and leave it to me.
  16. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response. This is very much appreciated. I have never sold through CC, but I was told that they require people to send on the books prior to the auction. I cannot personally attest to this, however, I believe it to be true. I am totally in agreement with you that the Heritage electronic check system is the best thing ever. It allows for quick, easy payment and books arrive shortly thereafter. I used this and wish all the other auction sites would adopt this. Thanks again. I appreciate you taking time to write such a detailed post.
  17. I agree 100 percent. I think I received my last auction “win” in less than a week. I was amazed. Maybe that is why I am not more understanding. IDK.
  18. This was another issue that I had when the auction first closed, however, I did not want to go down that road and complicate the issue.
  19. Hey Bob, Always good to hear from you. I value your thoughts and opinions. To answer your question, I really do not know if I would have bid or not. Given the stuff I usually bid on is not stuff that comes up for sale every day, I might have bid anyway (on some of the items). On other stuff, however, I may have just passed (so as not to have to wait). Either way, I would not be so anxious IF I had the information in advance. Thank you for weighing in on this. I appreciate it. Hope you are doing well and staying safe.
  20. I have not purchased a lot from NewKadia, however, I would rather do business with them than MH (even though their prices and various "discounts" sometimes confuse me).
  21. Thank you, sir. I agree they are "reliable" (I hope I was not taken to insinuate otherwise). In other words, I agree that I will eventually receive the books I won. I just feel their customer service is lacking (in that they should have told people BEFORE they bid, that they would not be receiving their books for (what I consider) a long time). I think that to wait almost a MONTH after an auction ends (while people like me anxiously await the arrival of the books they have paid for) to then tell the customer that there is going to be a delay, is unacceptable. Again, perhaps I am inpatient, however, I believe that this information should have been shared at best prior to the auction start and at worst as soon as the auction concluded; not almost a month later. Just seems like good business to me to do the right thing and provide information to your customers.
