  1. If you like those, you should check out Kav's cover for Karen 7,347. He recently posted it here.....
  2. I think I have more...someplace.
  3. Oh, what the heck. Bob started it with bringing the great Matt Baker into the mix. Apologies in advance for the horrible photography. I am NOT a photographer, nor do I pretend to be one.
  4. This thread seems to be getting derailed by arguments over who is a better artist. Art is in the eye of the beholder. There are books that I like that perhaps others may not (I like that because less demand helps keep prices down). There are many other books in which I seem to have the "same eye" as many other collectors. Either way, I thought this thread was about showcasing books which showcase woman, not an argument about who can draw better than the next guy. Either way, I was considering posting, however, @Robot Man has really stolen the show with a PL17, followed up by that Giant Comic Edition 12 (really would like a copy of that book). Well done, Bob. Your taste is impeccable (Matt Baker sure could draw).
  5. I understand that feeling. I keep thinking the pain will go away, but it does not.
  6. My personal favorite "bubble" cover. Please excuse the poor photography (and subsequent flash showing on the slab).
  7. I appreciate @jeffreyk providing everyone with an update. Thank you! Anyone else who is still waiting on a book (or books), please feel free to post here.
  8. @Kevin.J I completely agree that this is HOS worthy. I said "probation thread" as I thought both PL and HOS were discussed in the same thread. I agree with you 100%, however, that this kind of action is the very essence of what the HOS was created for. @Buzzetta, Thank you, Andrew, for taking the time and effort to make the nomination. I was not sure the rules surrounding who could nominate ALTHOUGH I certainly believe his actions were against the community as a whole (as much as against any one potential buyer). Thank you, again. The following is my opinion only - As for this being a "felony", there are jurisdictional issues that arise in a case such as this. It would have been a lot easier, had he actually sold and "mailed" one of these books. That would makes things very easy on so many levels. I am NOT saying his actions were not felonious, just that prosecution in such cases is difficult (due to various jurisdictions being involved and "actual loss" vs "potential loss" being at zero). I hope this makes sense. It is likely a moot point, since no one here (as far as I know) is looking to file a criminal case.
  9. I did not see this guy in the "probation discusssion" thread. Can someone he had dealings with nominate him (even though he refunded the money and backed out prior to completeing the "deal")? I am not all that up on the rules, however, it seems clear that this "person" should no longer be free to conduct business here as if nothing has occurred (as if he has a clean record).
  10. I watched the first episode this afternoon.
  11. SHARON IS THE BEST! My children received their masks from her a few days ago. Don't let her fool you with the 5.0 / not 9.8 stuff; they are awesome. Sharon contiues to do so much for this community and as such I offer up a HUGE THANK YOU!!!
  12. I am happy to report that I received 2 packages today. 1) One package was from the recent CL auction. I had paid that invoice on Tuesday June 30 (after 11pm). I paid the standard shipping charge (nothing extra) and I received the package today (less than 3 days later). WOW! Thank you Comic Link! 2) The other package was from the May CC auction. On a positive note, I believe it is important to give credit where credit is due. I contacted Rob (at CC) on July 1, and asked him about my order. Rob checked on it and told me they would ship it that day and that Fed Ex would pick it up the next day. Thank you Rob Reynolds!
  13. To add insult to injury, I get an email from Metropolis today that says in part..... Have you heard about our weekly Metropolis auctions on eBay?! Each week we have an incredible collection of merchandise for you to bid on, like CGC graded comics, raw comics, art prints, mystery boxes, and group lots. Our first eBay auctions ends TODAY. At 6:00 PM EST every item will begin to close. Below are a few stand out comics and giclees available to bid on.To see everything, please visit our eBay store by clicking here. So I decided to click on a few of the books that are ending tonight to see what the delivery dates are. On the books that I looked at, the estimated delivery dates were July 7 - July 8. WHAT?????? So on May 23 I was told that my books would be shipped within 3 weeks (still waiting with no clue as to when they will ship the books that I "won" and paid for), however, if I buy a book off eBay, I can get it next week (according to the listings). Something does not seem right here. If a company is going to "claim" the current situation (COVID) is going to delay shipping, then why is it only delaying shipping on the books that were in the May auction? Also in an eBay listing they wrote.... Accurate Grading, Fast Shipping and Excellent Customer Service. I would like to know what they consider "Fast Shipping" and as for "Customer Service", IMO it is far less than "Excellent".
  14. At least CL ships a customer's "wins" out in a reasonable time (or at least I have always found them reasonable). Plus CL divides their auctions into sessions so that if you are only interested in one area of collecting (say Golden Age) then you can just look at that session. I have no interest in looking through video games when I am trying to buy comics (although I am not putting down anyone else who chooses to collect video games - it is just not my thing).
  15. That is what makes this place great. People like you (collectors) who take the time and effort to help other collectors achieve their dreams. Not for a profit, but simply for love of the hobby and a genuine desire to put others before themselves. I am not a dealer either (nor a flipper or even a seller - simply a collector). I am thankful for the dealers who seek out books and make them available to those of us who collect, however, I am even more thankful for people like you.
  16. @Artboy99 Thanks for sharing your experience. I think that companies (especially those that are providing much desired collectibles to collectors) sometimes believe they don't have to offer any sort of reasonable customer service, since collectors will keep buying regardless of how badly they are treated. I am happy to know you received your book (although I am shocked at how different the scans look). Thanks again.
  17. 6 episodes down and I have enjoyed every one of them. They are doing a great job with this and keeping it "kid friendly", funny, and still enjoyable for adults. I give this show two thumbs up. One minor detail, that I thought strange in episode 5... When Stargirl's Step-Dad is looking under the hood of his 55 Buick Special and trying to figure out what is wrong with it, Hour Man's son comes up and says it sounds like the alternator. Given that car was built in 1955 and alternators were not put into cars until 1959, I am not sure how it could be a problem with the alternator (unless of course we are assuming the car was for some unknown reason converted over, which I find highly unlikely). GREAT SHOW!!!! I hope they keep up the good work!!!
  18. I am just reading this post now (almost a year too late), however, I wanted to thank you for posting. Had I seen this post, I would definately have been interested in picking up the copy. OSPG says there are only 4 copies. 3 belong to board members. I would have been happy to make it all 4 belonging to board members. Thanks again.
